check this out, I have 15 turns of GA. I got the Mausoleum so I can understand 12 turns, but why 15?

I'd like to know so I can do it again for future games.. ;)

Impossible to know with just a screenshot. We don't know the speed you're playing at, the possibility of a random event you did not see, the wonders etc...

I'm playing epic and I don't remember any random events. This is like my 3rd GA the 1st one was the normal 8 turns but the next two were both 15

Sounds about right to me. I play on marathon and in my current game I captured the Mausoleum early and my GA's were 22 turns (or something, definitely over 20!)

On Epic 10 turns is normal, +50% = 15.

15 sounds right for an Epic Speed MoM GA .. 8 does not for Epic Speed at all.

When I saw the title, I thought this thread was about Great Artists. :mischief:

24. 16 + 50%.

I had a triple GA in my last game, 72 turns. :crazyeye:

And 7 GA in the whole game, 168 turns of GA. Good game. :D

Is there anything special to this, or do you just mean that you were able to buy three in a row in the normal way?

Wouldn't this require TM + 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 = 21 GPs? On standard speed the 21st should cost 3300. Total for all 21 should be 29,800 GPPs = 600/turn average for the entire game IF all GPPs were earned by one city; otherwise more.

On marathon wouldn't the GPP cost be double / twice as many turns = the same 600/turn? How did you do this?

I could be wrong on how Navarre pulled it off, but this is my focus when I want to maximize the number of Golden Ages I get:

There are 5 free Great People in the tech tree which can start a Golden Age. (Music, Economics, Physics, Communism & Fusion).

There is 1 free Golden Age from the Taj Majal.

There are 2 free Golden Ages from Quests. (Sports League & Guns Butter)

Excluding Quest GA's and subtracting the 1 Golden Age from Taj:

6 Golden Ages = 21 Great People

21 - 5 = 16 Great People needed to be birthed.

16 Great People born is actually pretty easy for a game that sees Fusion.

He could also have had the event: Heroic soldier runs 25 miles to warn of invasion!' which starts a golden age.

Sounds to me more like a deserter than a hero however :P

Oops. Forgot the free GPs and the event. Didn't know about those two quests.

Without the event and quests, 16 GPs = 14,000 GPPs = 280 / turn average if all in one city. I have never reached 280 except during a GA. I suppose I could if I wanted to badly enough -- late in the game. Don't see how one could average 280.

We also have to believe that one can get all 5 free GPs and the TM without ever using a GP for any other purpose.

With the event and both quests, we need only three paid GAs = 6 GPs - 5 free = just 1. So if you can luck into all three and win both quests and win all 5 science races and build the TM, I guess it's not hard. :scan:

Yeah, I got the Taj Mahal, the Sports League quest and the "Oh my god they're coooooming !" event when my crappy neighbour Survy decided to commit suicide by backstabbing someone far more powerful and advanced that him.

The 4 others were from GP. I was far more advanced than anyone thanks to the Pyramids I stole from Lincoln and the heavy sea commerce I was running (Great Lightouse + Colossus + Carthage's cothon + several harbors + Financial trait), so I had every free GP possible from tech, and a lot of wonders giving a lot of GPP.

Is there anything special to this, or do you just mean that you were able to buy three in a row in the normal way?
Three in a row the normal way, firing during the precedent one : it was the runner, the Taj Mahal and a GP one.

It was the first time I had this running man event. It quite sucked for the enemy : you invade a guy and you give him a free GA to kick your ass, yay !
