Just so everyone knows I'll be visiting Dublin from Weds to Sat (back sat) so am hoping I can process the turn before I leave. Don't think I need a sub as long as the turn gets to me by tues as the turaround isn't that quick.

Anyone know where the turn is? If I can get it today or tomorrow I can process my turn before I leave for Dublin :)

ok i'm a little confused. I received the save from Caesar ran it via multiplater > PBEM > Load and processed my own turn but when I press enter to move on (at which point I should be told a new save has been .. um .. saved) it just says waiting for other civs and I can't do anything except crash out of the game so either I'm doing something wrong or their is something wrong with the last save!

p.s I'm leaving for Dublin for 3 days as of tomorrow so really need to sort this tonight. I'll be up until the early hours most likely so hope I can send the next save out tonight. Oh yea and does this mean Lord Civius has left the game now or was he just subbed?

Lord Civius has left the game... and Mr. Shooli too for that matter :( But we're still at 7 which I think is still pretty good. As for the other problem, it seems it's been an issue...

I tried going through all the turns using the last save game I had, and it always hangs at the end of your turn. I'll keep tinkering with it to see if I can find what might be causing the hang, but worst case, we might have to start over and just keep our fingers crossed :eek:

Damn! Ok it's not just me then. I'll be off to Dublin tomorrow morning though so it's unlikely a fix might be sorted before then (back on Sat) but I'm up for a while yet so will keep my eye out.

Sorry everyone, but it looks we'll have to start over :( On the other hand, we can have a cleaner start (less early retirees, hopefully :D) and we have a chance to get replacements. New game will start within 24 hours, so if you want to switch civs or something, please let me know :)

How are we handling combat reports in the game? Do we post them as no one else knows what's happening except for yourself in regard to combat in your own turn. Might make the game more enjoyable if we hear news from around the globe?

Today on a small island off the coast of Briton the glorious Vikings subdued a small barbaric tribe in the settlement of Duhb Linn. The Tribe known for their wickedness were slaughtered, women raped, children decapitated in the good olde tradition of the peace loving Viking tribe. The Vikings are not without a heart though. Some able bodied men were saved ... and shipped back to the Nordic Region as slaves.....

That's a good idea... let me see what I can come up with :D

Not half!! Any idea who's turn it is? As I said before if the thread could be updated everytime a turn has been sent we'd know where we are at or if someone is none responsive. At the someone could have dropped and none of us would be any the wiser ;)

Wait a minute, Samo Hung is complaining that he is receiving the same date turn as previously and he's right.
Please Ulfang, send me the right turn (AD-1050).

Hmm confused!? I looked at the last turn I sent and it was the 1040! I don't seem to have had 1050 unless I still had the old save on my desktop and thought that t was the 1050 turn. Is it possible that 1050 be sent to me again and I'll process it again...?

Ulfang, Kaspog has already sent you the correct turn.
You should check your email and you should be able to play and send me the 1050 turn.

What's the story with the new patch and this game? Are we able to update or will that cause a problem to the game? I'm asking because I was told I'd need to update for my Pitboss game but am worried that will screw this game up!?

I have updated as as well . I got the save file but can't open it.

Well I dropped my pitboss game as I play two or three PBEM games which may well have been affected so didn't want to patch. Even if the BTS games were ok to patch it probably would have affected my vanilla Civ IV game which happened last time I patched to 3.13. I can't patch without screwing up at least one game although i could probably patch on the laptop and use that if necessary but have a feeling none of the old saves will work on a newly patched version anyway....

Looks like we'll just stick to the old version for now. Shogu, would you be willing to reinstall?

I am playing other games and all has been patched to 3.17

I did get a save 1060 the other day but I've been ill for a few days so haven't gotten round to it. I assume the game is going to be roled back now and that turn is invalid? I'm still on 3.13 of course (I use the laptop for 3.17 games)

Yes because the game was formed under patch 3.13 so it can't be played under 3.17. I never patch a game if I'm playing a pbem under an older patch. Of course I also have civ on the laptop so have the 3.17 version on there if needs be. I quit my Pitboss game because it supported the new patch but doing so meant I'd of had to quit the PBEM's I'm running (prior to me installing on the laptop of course ;) )
