View Full Version : Minesweeper
Virote_Considon Apr 10, 2008, 01:05 PM So, I've decided to quit trying to give up a Minesweeper addiction I have (), and have scaled down my games from huge custom epic games to Beginner, Intermediate and Expert games.
Here's the result of my latest game:

And here's my top scores:

Anyone got anything better?
Oh, forgot to say, I use XP, not Vista, so I don't have any of those save/reload options, neither.
Sullla Apr 10, 2008, 01:40 PM Well, I stink at Minesweeper, so those look great to me! But you can always look at a video of the pros, too:

Izipo Apr 10, 2008, 03:43 PM Hmm, pretty good.
I'll have to restart my older computer to be sure (yes, I WAS addicted once), but if memory serves I had 46 seconds at intermediate and in the 130 range at expert.
The video of the world record was awesome, too. Thanks Sulla, Youtube never ceases to amaze me.
King of Town Apr 11, 2008, 05:07 AM Ah, I had 4 seconds on beginner once, but it was on my old laptop. Now I am going to have to play. It is an easy game to get hooked on.
Bartleby Apr 11, 2008, 05:27 AM I haven't played a lot on this computer:

My best times at home are still not that good; 8/42/127 I think.

Type xyzzy and then hold shift. Now look at the top left pixel of your monitor. White: No mine, black: mine
raketooy Apr 12, 2008, 10:28 AM Or while you are at it, why not just go to regedit, find the scores (don't remember exactly where; try searching for "minesweeper" or "winmine") and set them to 0 or 1 seconds? Doesn't work on Vista but on XP it should. On Windows 2000 just press esc to stop the clock (wtf kind of a glitch is that?)
SuperBeaverInc. Apr 12, 2008, 01:05 PM I haven't played much Minesweeper on this computer. I have 10 seconds on beginner and 84 on intermediate, but haven't finished a difficult one on it. I used to have some pretty awesome scores.
Virote_Considon Apr 12, 2008, 02:11 PM One day, I hope to get one of those one-click win games, on beginner. :)
Quintillus Apr 13, 2008, 01:01 AM My scores on this computer are pretty horrible - haven't even won on expert apparently. And my overall ones aren't that great, but for a non-addict I think are respectable:
Beginner - 5 seconds
Intermediate - 68-72 second range
Expert - 270 some seconds
Some of those might be Windows 98. The Beginner one is almost certainly XP, though. 98 is different in that Beginner is 8x8 instead of 9x9 - and thus slightly more difficult, as the number of mines per square is equal to on Intermediate as opposed to slightly lower on XP. Otherwise I think it's identical though.
I was quite excited when I got that 5 second score a few months ago! I'd been on 6 seconds for quite some time!
