Created by General Matt (uploaded by the Wolf per request of Matt), the HMS Sussex was one of the London sub-class of the County-class heavy cruisers in the Royal Navy.

Displacement: 9,750 tons standard
Main Armament: Eight 8-inch (203mm) guns in four dual turrets

Now available for Civ4, this model can be used for any WWII-era Heavy Cruiser type ship (especially Commonwealth).

Looks great! I'm gonna ask the dumb question though. Why didn't Matt upload this one?

Perhaps a new PR-Strategy  ^^

A good model. Shaded version would make her really great.

General Matt has been really busy since becoming a star Civ4 unit maker... he's in an interview with Robin Leach today and asked if I could upload the unit for him.

 I nearly fell of my chair laughing! The honest answer is this. The only way I can get on CFC these days is through a proxy server, and that messes up the uploading and downloading of anything really.. Refar@ I want to figure that out soon, as in, you know, the next 3 years. :p

Ah, a new cruiser which doesn't fire missiles. ;)
I assume it uses destroyer animations?

Yes it does, though only 3 turrets work, the other was too far apart to work.. :(

nicely done :)

if tried to solve your turret problem and found the solution (changing the nodes of the turrets doesnīt work because the positions are also set in the animation (.kf) files).

Nevertheless in the zip is a changed destroyer animation for the HMS Sussex, so that all four turrets work. If you want a longer explaination what i did (you donīt need a program you have to pay for) simply ask, perhaps it will the needed motivation for making a tutorial

btw: textures are not included, only the nif and the animation, so you still have to download the Zip from above.

btw2: i changed some files per hand, so if there are still issues like flying turrets let me know and please say when this happens (because it will lead faster to the animation file where the error is)

Ciao

I want more explanation and a cool tutorial :D Could be be of great help solving many animation issues, that otherwise would require reexport.

Coyote... thanks for the animation fix... I have already updated the main download to include it!

Oh, and that's a HUGE freakin' Frigate in your picture there! I've done what I can to solve that!

Thanks for the tutorial. I am hoping to try something similar on some LH animations...

Actually, I didn't. Just didn't remember I had downloaded it already. Had to move all my old(er) downloads to another drive because of space issues while working on the Ethnic Citystyles mod.
But thanks anyway. :)
