View Full Version : Photo Gallery Downloaders?
aimeeandbeatles Apr 19, 2008, 09:31 AM Due to my system crashing, I lost a lot of pictures. However, I have found some in photo galleries, (they're watermarked but I don't really care!), but I`m too lazy to download them one-by-one. Is there any program that you enter the URL of the photo gallery and it downloads them? (I use FireFox, if you have extensions.)
Freeware, please. I tried googling but didn't get much. Just yahoo groups and some adult stuff... (Ick.)
Also I have password-protected ImageShack, but too many pics to go through one-by-one.
I can delete duplicate pics, don't worry about that.
Thanks! :goodjob:
P.S. theyre thumbnailed.
P.S. Some of these have funny URL's, because I search the sites, so I get a lot of puncutation marks. Keep in mind please!
Mise Apr 19, 2008, 12:25 PM Some Download Managers allow you to simply download every picture on the page. Download Accelerator Plus (http://www.speedbit.com/) does, IIRC.
aimeeandbeatles Apr 19, 2008, 06:28 PM Thank you :)
I have Orbit Downloader already installed, is it any good? (I have not tested it yet.)
stickciv Apr 19, 2008, 07:24 PM If you use FireFox, I suggest DownThemAll!
Mise Apr 19, 2008, 07:25 PM No idea, never heard of Orbit Downloader. DAP is great though, I've been using it since I got the internet basically. Does exactly what it says on the tin.
EDIT: Oh yeah, DAP doesn't work too well with FF. Integrates nicely with IE tho.
GoodGame Apr 19, 2008, 09:38 PM Might want to try GetRight for Firefox integration. Forget if it supports gallery downloads.
Zelig Apr 19, 2008, 10:17 PM Skip all the other download managers mentioned in this thread, go with Free Download manager. It's free, not adware, and has a tool to download all files from a site.
stickciv Apr 19, 2008, 10:35 PM Why should DownThemAll! be skipped? It too is free, not adware and can download all files from a site. It also integrates with FireFox really well allowing full control from within the browser.

Because then you have to use Firefox instead of Opera. ;)
If you use Firefox anyway, it probably works just fine.
stickciv Apr 20, 2008, 02:12 AM Ah, well then, you should use FireFox! :p

I second that, FDM is a brilliant download manager. IMO it's quicker than DownThemAll! too. As in stitching the file together at the end takes less time (it just does it). It now has support for downloading from Torrents too. And it integrates nicely into IE, or any other popular browser.
aimeeandbeatles Apr 22, 2008, 01:54 PM Thanks everyone :) I'll try 'em all and see which one works best fer me.
