Gaius Octavius Apr 19, 2008, 02:00 PM It never ceases to amaze me how you can make such good planes with so few reference photographs. :goodjob: I especially like the little smile on the pilot - he's just begging to be shot down! :D
dutchking Apr 19, 2008, 02:02 PM Thanks GO!! :)
I took the "Buddhist Missionary" face and planted it on this guy. :mischief:

Yeah, I noticed you had around 10 different dds textures in the file when I opened it in nifskope... how long does it usually take to make something like this?
dutchking Apr 19, 2008, 02:05 PM Well I already had most of it made, its just been "backordered" the past few weeks. :p
I cleaned up the folder, hadn't realized I left the textures in there. Its got the base DDS, and the nif and that's it.

Ha ha! There's a bit of irony.
I would like to state that you can reduce the size of your glossmaps without a noticeable loss of quality. This would help to reduce CPU and memory load in late game.
dutchking Apr 19, 2008, 02:38 PM I know I can resize them, just never thought of it. :p Feel free...
Xenomorph Apr 19, 2008, 02:40 PM Just noticed something, but why did you include Thumbs.db in the zip? I see this a lot, but it doesn't seem to ever have any bearing on the model itself.
dutchking Apr 19, 2008, 02:43 PM I didn't include anything called "thumbs.db" in the zip?
Have no idea what you're talking about.
Xenomorph Apr 19, 2008, 02:44 PM It's a hidden file. Here, I'll upload it.
Wolfshanze Apr 19, 2008, 02:44 PM Looks good... while it didn't debut till 1935 and was actually used in WWII (wasn't even around during WWI), I'll cave-in and use it for WWI Japan... just cuz it's a nice Jap Biplane.

X, I didn't include anything like that. Try extracting it and see if its still there, windows put it there not me.

Fair enough. :p
Gaius Octavius Apr 19, 2008, 03:06 PM DK: there is a thumbs file in the download; I saw it myself.
Perchance could you include smaller-sized resolutions from now on? :) You can always put two different versions in the file, one at the standard 256x256 and a larger one. This is important for scenario makers like me who use lots of custom units on very large maps. It can really slow things down quickly.
dutchking Apr 19, 2008, 03:08 PM ...
Its already 512x512, you can resize it to 256x256 if you want but when I upload it it will always be 512 or more. It loses all of its detail when you make it small, and its already pretty small as it is.
Wolfshanze Apr 19, 2008, 03:22 PM Has anyone else tested this in-game yet? I've downloaded it and put it in game, but it crashes out!
Pretty sure my XML is up-tight.
dutchking Apr 19, 2008, 03:24 PM One second...
dutchking Apr 19, 2008, 03:25 PM Try it now.
Xenomorph Apr 19, 2008, 07:16 PM Obligatory buttons.
Wolfshanze Apr 19, 2008, 07:25 PM Thanks for the fix DK... got it working.
dutchking Apr 19, 2008, 10:06 PM Yep, I forgot to do a little thing in sceneviewer that changes the crash. (sometimes)
And thanks for the buttons X. ;) I think #4 is the best.

Well they're all the same plane!

Oh, Wolfie Wolfie. How little you know of photography.
