I help coordinate and participate in a large real life Capture the Flag game throughout the warm months in my neighbourhood. Were going to start up again in May and usually play Thursdays nights around 9:00PM when its dark out. I've been running a lot and climbing lots of trees to hone my skills for Blue Base. Getting tagged by an opposing team member sends to back to your base. I wear a black outfit with black addidas and a black balaclava because the key is to break through enemy defence unnoticed.

I don't know about Fallout 3, I have never palyed a Fallout game before, and I definitely will not buy it until three months after release. I'll probably also wait with Empire.
That's about the average time a new game needs to get patched playable and reasonably balanced, and coincidentally also drops in price.

The last game I bought right after release was Civ4 and I learned my lesson, thank you very much.
I will only make exceptions for Blizzard or a new Bioware RPG.

From what i've seen and read about it - it wont be a Fallout game. A good comparison would be X-Com Enforcer compared to the first 3 X-Coms. At least that's the first impression that i got.
But if it's not going to be a true fallout game at least FOR THE LOVE OF GOD dont make it suck. And dont make it a kiddies game.

And please get rid of the lame stuff like the hand-held nuclearcatapult with which you throw nucleargrenades :suicide:

Though I'm quite sad the firebat isn't going to be in StarCraft II. Was it overpowered or something?

I think the Firebat isn't in because it was the least useful Terran unit. A good counter against massed melee infantry, but not very good at anything else andit comes too late to effectively counter a Zergling rush.

Well, I haven't had a computer to play new games on for at least 2 years now so other than a ton of games I have to go back and catch up with, like crysis and being actually able to play Oblivion faster than a slideshow, and Supreme Commander and some paradox games, I'm not really looking forward to anything new coming out, just Spore is all I can think of really.

Wierd, when there were games I wanted to play but couldn't coming out I wouldn't get a new computer, now that there's really nothing on the horizon I can think of I'm building a new computer. Though to be fair I haven't really paid attention to anything new that's supposed to be coming out. Left 4 Dead sounds cool, and I'm cautiously optimistic for Empire Total War(the crappy AI and other issues made me get sick of RTW rather quickly and not even bother with MTW2) Guess I'll spend plenty of time catching up that by the time a new large wave of stuff comes out I'll have plenty of time, and most likely need to upgrade again...

Just have it done by this fall/winter and I am sure you will be happy. ;)

Probably won't happen for sometime now as it's on hold until L4D is out.

That being said.

Far Cry 2, however that won't be possible on nice settings unless I fork out another 100 bucks for a new processor.

L4D because I haven't really been disappointed with Valve's game.

Half Life 3 (wishful thinking for a release by early 2010.)

Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 look really nice too.

Axis & Allies the Anniversary Edition, actually.;)

Diablo 3 and Sacred 2. Next version of NetHack and Dwarf Fortress.

Dragon Age is off the list if EA sticks with that DRM. Not positive about Fallout 3 either.

I really hate this time of year for new game releases. GTA IV for PC, Left 4 Dead, the Mines of Moria expansion for LotR Online and Football Manager 2009 all come out within a week of each other.

IMHO it sounds alot better than Godfather 1. And I liked Godfather 1. The main difference is its more of your the don and making all the moves instead of work your way up to the don like in godfather 1

Just looked through my latest Game Informer mag and Dragon Age: Origins has me stoked with about 5 to 6 pages of awesome potential. I trust Bioware pretty good. I guess chalk it up on my list too.

Dragon Age is off the list if EA sticks with that DRM.

I recently bought Sacred 2 without knowing it also has a 2-activation limit. I'll never buy from Ascaron from now on. That was an extraordinarily stupid move - seeing the backlash in Spore's case, and that Sacred is a game just like Diablo - the core value is to play online in closed servers. DRM won't do anything good here - it will only annoy customers.

Empire total war. Best strategic game ever IHMO.
I enjoy Total War games more for the synthesis of tactics and strategy. Being able to manage naval battles instead of autoresolving will be one of the best parts about ETW. That, and I want to outdo Friedrich II at his own game. :p

Other than that, I'm looking forward to sneering at the Spore expansions, picking Fallout3 up on discount, and not buying anything for awhile until it's earned a GOTY award from Gamespot, et al. :)

Valve seems to like taking their time. Considering they are currently working on HL2:Ep3 and Portal 2, perhaps they are working on some other games to release some sort of new Orange Box type deal?

I wonder if piracy is higher in Australia and Russia and other countries where the game is often released months later after North America/Western Europe.

Heavy Rain is currently residing at the top of my most wanted list. But I'm also looking farward to Uncharted 2, Still Life 2 and MAG.

Most games that get refused classification have 1 or 2 minor things that need to be edited before it can be released in Aus. Fallout 3 comes under this category.

EDIT: If you watch Zero Punctuation, you'd know who is blocking the introduction of an R18+ classification in Australia.
