As part of my job...well, hobby, I need to grab high-quality screencaps from videos. (A lot of these videos aren't the best quality.) I used to use TopazMoment from giveaway of the day (google it) but my computer crashed and I lost it.

Does anyone know any good (freeware) video screencap grabbers? I tried googling but all I got was to get the screen movements or something to that effect . Thanks all.

P.S. Here's one of my screencaps. One of my better ones -- I usually make people look blurry/distorted! Thats why TopazMoment was good, it rarely did that.

P.S. I found the name of the technology... "superresolution." I'm googling now, will post if anything comes up.

Push printscreen, open your favourite image editor, push ctrl+v.

I tried that, it comes out as either a black square or blurry. (Depending on the settings.)

I Think thats just your video thats giving you that effect.

On a closer topic, VLC media player has a Screengrab option for when you're playing a video.

I think in VLC it works with Ctrl-Alt-S

KMPlayer (http://www.download.com/The-KMPlayer/3000-13632_4-10659939.html?tag=lst-1) includes some advance capture options, and unlike VLC it has a frame-forward feature that might be usefull in capturing screens
