View Full Version : Hand Cannoneer
utahjazz7 Apr 26, 2008, 12:56 PM I had the desire to make a unit, so I put this one together. I've been wanting to make something like this since LouLong requested some Burgundian units in December of 2004 (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=106536). It's been a long time since I've made a unit, so let me know if I forgot any files or didn't get the palettes correct.

COAtlantis1745 Apr 26, 2008, 01:24 PM Wow! Welcome back Utah! It would appear the AoK conversion is now...obsolete hehe.
Antiochus VII Apr 26, 2008, 01:30 PM It looks great - you haven't lost your touch! :)
flamescreen Apr 26, 2008, 02:11 PM Beautiful.
If you'll think of putting a flame instead of an explosion in front, it would make for a great Byzantine Greek fire unit as well.(there was a hand held version of the ship mount device)
Yoda Power Apr 26, 2008, 02:14 PM Wow long time no see Utah! It's great that you still come back once in a while with an awesome unit. :goodjob:

Like the way the cannon bounces and settles on the guy in the death. The size is perfect, too. I hate short people. And fat people.
Love you, utah

I feel like a living legend. ;)
I'm glad to see that the hand cannoneer received such a warm reception here. I see there's been an influx of new talent around here, so it's nice to see that a unit of mine can still hold its own.
And, thanks to everyone for all of the warm welcomes back. After such a long break from unit making, I just might stick around long enough to produce a couple more. I even have a couple of ideas floating around.
Also, there was a request that I upload my hand cannon prop. I have posted that and the helmet prop that I used for this unit. If you're interested, you can access them from the following link.

BTW, you are a living legend :) Where would we be without all the wonderful things you have done for us? :)

Yeah, F'real, man! You rank up there with Kinboat, Aaglo, and Embryodead as one of the Great Unit Makers of Olde.
Plotinus Apr 29, 2008, 09:30 AM What they said.
Great to see a new utahjazz unit appearing, and it's as top-quality as we'd expect. I'm sure this one will see a lot of action.
ruby_sauce Apr 29, 2008, 11:53 AM I feel like a living legend. ;)
well, without your tutorial I wouldn't be able to make units at all!
:)
