This NES wilol be Modded in a similar style to UKNES except:
SKILORD's Own combat system; New and Improved.
Full world Map: for 5 Planets
4 Races: Human, Martian, Venutian, Centaurian
Several Unit types: More than just Army or fleet, you choose a paper rock scissors esque set of units in each feild of combat
Revolutionary trade system: Far different than any other
Asteroid space pirates!
New Science system: Carry on 3 research projects and keep 2 of them secret from all

It will be like a better version of ad infinitum merged with UKNES2!

Alrighty some more background:
Martians:
(Note i am useing a better mars map than in Ad Infinitum)
When the Humans landed mars was in the middle of a cold war and on the brink of reaching space. seeing that war would destroy them the Martians became traders:
Martians get Trade Convoys and Trade Ships for 10 Credits less!

Venutians:
Fighting for survival on a unmerciful planet the Venutians are ready to stab each other in the back, They might even drag humanity into their squabbles.
Venutians get Barracks and HoverTanks for 15 credits less

Centaurians:
When Humans landed peace and prosperity reigned on Alpha Centauri. Now the AArgoth and the Zappos distrust the Millitary might of the Kublae.
Centaurians get their Research Centers for 50 credits less.

Humans:
Forever locked in a space race the humans are constantly looking for new planets to put bases on.
Humans get Colonies for 30 Credits less.

So there are only four nations??

SKILORD
Jul 18, 2002, 06:05 AM
No There are several earth nations (humans)
2 Martian nations
5 (I think) Venutian nations
and 3 A. Cenaturian nations.

I have maps for: Mars, Venus Earth and A. centauri. Finishing off the moon. I need to find a Solar system map. And as wqe colonise new planets i will add them.

Do you know how hard it is to find a simple solar system map?

SKILORD

All nations that fall under those categories get those bonuses.

New Diplomacy tools:
Discovery Pact: The 2 nations share their secret discoveries and have the ption of splitting the bill for science works.

Science works like this otherwise:
You state your research (or PM me secret ones)and i send you a receipt through PM (I send 1 to your allies too if you have discovery pacts) On the receipt is the estimated price for the research, you can either pay right up, pay per turn (you receive tech when payed off) or initiate a discovery pact then to try to split the cost (assuming you are alone at the time) research centers (A small wonder like building) shave 25% off the cost for you.

Sounds great. How are you going to get money, the old 3 credits/5 credits way, or another?

Feel free to use any ideas that I put in the SUPERNES thread, even those that will be included in the UKNES3(it would be interesting to see how they work). May I suggest looking at the tax and happiness system especially, if you are looking to include rebellions etc in your game.

Anyway, I'll be playing!

And do we get a sneak peek of the map before you go?

:D That's a great idea. I was thinking of how to work religion in there but that would be a major pain. Not worth it at all for a future NES.
I Will not tell you Nation names yet but the same color on different planets means nothing but SKILORD ran out of Colors.

Venus:

The last 2 maps are authentic planet maps (you can find lots of those but no solar system maps) that have been reworked for the NES A. Centauri is not here because i need something new for when it comes out....

Trade will be handled through trade Convoys and Trade Ships that you build. there are no specific resources to trade but you gain 5 credits for each route (per turn) (10 in select cases)

Space Stations (cost: 90) will accrue 5 Per turn on it's own and you can build routes to them. (what's more they get +3 the dice roll and are dammed tough to kill)
You can only trade with a planet if you have an embassy with a native race or a colony on that planet. You can only trade with a foreign power (between natives) if you have a embassy with them.

More teasers!

The UN will be able to
1. Send assistance to nations at war.
2. Condemn nations actions
3. Set up arms treaties to limit amy (or Nuke) size
4. Send inspectors to make sure nations follow arms treaties.

Any of these actions may be done by at least 2 UN participating nations through he United Nations.
It will cost to send advisors or assistanc but your nation will not go to wa if you send assistance.

Condemning naions actions will slow down those actions in a ay that depeds upon those actions

The Moderator (guess who?) will act as UN chairman (No need for political correcness here)

Interdiction craft can
1. Destroy Trade lanes (pirates love these suckers)
2. Stop enemy space forces from retreating (requires a roll)

SKILORD
Jul 27, 2002, 01:37 PM
Enhanced Profit Situations:
Enhanced profit situation require an independent Trade ship (their own not any one tht goes from 1 planet to another)
They accrue 10 credits instead of 5 but allow pirates to gain 2 in their rolls against them.

I'm trying very hard to keep excitement up about this game.
Examples:
Water From A. Centaueri or Earth to Mars or Venus.
Electronics From A Centauri
Chicken from Earth

Mars has extra ones as befits the trading race.

SKILORD

Battle:
An upfront, simple system.
I roll a die for each ship involved and the totals are the totals for each side. I add or subtract combat bonuses (fighters for example get +2 against helicoptors) Whichever side is higher wins and 1/2 the loosing ships are eliminated. The other ships much each roll more than 3 to escape alive. If the other side beat them by more than 20 (A real whipping) they must roll more than 4 to escape.

If the UN sends Inspectors to your nation you may:
1. Refuse to allow the inspectors in your nation
2. PM me telling me to hide the excess weapons (chance of discovery)
3. Sell off weapons asap (You get 1/2 what you paid for them back but they might now be used by a terror group or pirates against a nation, including your own)

The United States:
400 credits in Treasury
Ruled By:
70 Credits Per Turn
Medium Army
Medium Navy
Large Space fleet
MPP's:
Notes:

That isn't neccesarily true but that's what the nation stats will look like.
