View Full Version : Official New Giruvegan Gameplay thread
AluminumKnight Apr 28, 2008, 06:30 AM This thread is here for any discussion regarding the gameplay decisions made about the city of New Giruvegan. I made this thread to put everything in one place, since there were discussions happening in many different places.
First, what does everyone think of the build order?
NZL Apr 28, 2008, 06:36 AM Being Monument, Worker, Archer...
for people who might wonder..
I think it's a basic queue for a city that's recently founded.
We need the Monument if we want the Zeus wonder, a worker is always good, and the extra archer will prove usefull when we're going to war with Spain but still need to defend against Barbs as well.
AluminumKnight Apr 28, 2008, 07:17 AM I feel dumb asking this but, is the rice inside New Giru's borders before the culture pop? I can't see the screens at work... The reason I ask is so that I can give worker instructions for this session.
AluminumKnight Jun 07, 2008, 11:20 AM I've been asked to give worker instructions for New Giruvegan for the next play session. I couldn't find a better place to post this, so it's going here:
1. Build cottages in all grassland squares
2. Mine the grassland hill (NOT the plains/forest hill)
3. At any point the forest/plains hill can be chopped to help out production
BCLG100 Jun 07, 2008, 02:56 PM Its going to need some more food to grow a bit quicker. The worker nearby may as well do something else whilst we wait for CS and the ability to build farms next to each other.
dutchfire Jun 08, 2008, 02:07 AM I agree with BCLG, the city really needs some more food. It's now at +1 :food:, which means slow growth.
AluminumKnight Jun 08, 2008, 07:33 PM I agree that it needs more food. However, there is not currently a way to get more food. We have growth in 6 turns, and we have a cottage up already, so building more cottages is not a priority. If the worker is going to be useful elsewhere for now, by all means, let's do that. I would reccomend mining the grassland hill on the river to give us a way to squeeze out a few more hammers at the cost of stagnating our growth.
If you're worried about farms being placed on those grassland tiles in the future, perhaps we should mine the grassland hill on the river and work that, stagnating our growth for now? More population isn't always a good thing if it's not useful, as it does drive up maintenance.
Also, the worker can still chop the forest on at least the plains hill and the southern grass hill to give us a production boost. We will likely be mining these eventually anyway, and the forest gives us no real benefit there.
Lord Civius Aug 21, 2008, 01:34 PM Diamondeye,
As official "Governor of New Giruvegan" I give you overall control of your City-State. This includes build qeues (excluding wonders) and citizen/specialist management. If you have any further needs from the Crown please post here or send me a PM.
Diamondeye Aug 22, 2008, 03:54 AM Thank you, Civius. Perhaps a screenshot of the city screen after each turnset. I dont have HOF so I cant access the save myself.

Diamondeye Sep 02, 2008, 02:50 PM Thanks a lot. By the looks of it, the Hindu Cathedral is built? If that is the case, NG is free to produce what military we might need. I suggest Rifles and Cannons.

Yes, it finished just as my TC ended. I chose a cannon but you can change this if you want. I'm gonna request at least one cannon be made in Edorai. It will be a super-cannon starting with 11 xp's!
Diamondeye Sep 03, 2008, 07:31 AM Cannons are fine with me. Eleven xps simply means more heathens blown to smytherines. Excellent.

Diamondeye Sep 04, 2008, 01:51 PM Instructions for the next turnchat:
Citizens working the following tiles are to be converted to priest specialists:
The citizen working the grassland riverside hill 2N1E,
The citizen working the grassland hill 2S,
The citizen working the plains gold hill 1N.
For reason on the gold, see this thread: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=289792
Lord Civius Sep 04, 2008, 02:38 PM Diamondeye, i understand your discontent for the King on the matter of the Gold. I think he just feels you were trying to go over his head. I ask that you reconsider this bold move and take a more diplomatic approach.
