Part 1 - Unification!
January the 1st, 1836. ComradeDavo assumes control of the Prussian nation with a grand vision: A unified Germany dominating Europe.
We aim to be first place in the world, and also to construct a substantial European empire and weaken our rivals!
First, a look at Prussia’s lands:
http://img378.imageshack.us/img378/6301/prussiastartvo9.jpg
It seems our 2 main concerns on the continent will be France and Russia. As ever, the might of Great Britain is something we shall need to be weary of. Across the ocean we shall be sure to keep an eye on the United States.
Our industry isn't bad, and after the intitial wars to unify German we shall certainally put alot of focus into it. Prestige shouldn't be a problem.
Our aim: to unify Germany as swiftly as possible. The German people demand it! The German ruling elite desire it! ComradeDavo strives to achieve it!
To do this our generals propose building up our mobilisation pool and once strong enough annexing the German minors and warring with Austria to create a small Hungarian state as our satellite. Our intelligence reports indicate there is a popular movement in Austria to unite with a German empire and we believe an independent Hungarian state, no matter how small, would be a catalyst to achieve this.
In regards to an overseas empire, it is something that shall be examined, though we worry that it will divert forces from the European fronts, and given our position with potential enemies all round we shall need alot of troops here.
With nothing else to do, ComradeDavo and the Prussian ruling elite swiftly set about the task!
1836
Feb 15th – The London Treaty is signed by France and German (though strangely not the UK, despite it being drawn up in London)
http://img378.imageshack.us/img378/7941/londontreatynr1.jpg
April 5th – Right to it! There’s this nation which seems to have royal links with Britain. Can’t be having that! WAR WITH HANNOVER! The foolish Brits come to Hannover’s aide.
August 13th - After a successful campaign, Hannover is made a satellite state, meaning we gain everything but their capital as their lands are German cores!
August 28th – To appease those worried by our show of force in Hannover, the Prussian ruling elite see fit to host a diplomatic conference in Berlin.
http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/9070/diplomaticconfernceud9.jpg
1837
In January, after much debate about what to do in these post-Napoleonic times, we opt for the Jominian Attitude in regards to our land forces.
In February, a decision is made regarding the navy, opting to maintain superior crews!
In June, the Brits reject a white peace offer.
1838 + 1839
Despite all forces landing in northern Prussia being destroyed, the Brits continue to refuse peace. A child labour law is passed.
In 1840, the UK offered white peace, we accepted. We don’t wish for war with the Brits, we prefer to focus on the German lands. The treaty was signed in London by the Prussia ambassador. ComradeDavo is quoted in the Prussian press as saying ‘’Finally ze Britlanders have seen fit to end this pointless war! German lands are exactly that, German! The Brits should know better than to try and meddle in German affairs!’ Such an appeal to German nationalism from the vast might of Prussia is viewed worryingly in the independent German states.
On June 7th, the king dies. His son inherits the throne. Excellent, a new puppet to mould.
http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/1618/anewkinggp7.jpg
On September 11th 1840, it is decided to claim back the northern German lands from Danish influence. The Danes are a weak force, they should be no challenge. War is declared on Holstein, and the Danes react with a declaration on us.
http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/9803/danishwarcx1.jpg
On October 21st Holstein is annexed and made a part of the ever growing Prussia empire. On April the 18th 1841, with their lands overrun, the Danes agree to Prussian control over their foreign affairs and are made a satellite state, with German cores in southern Denmark becoming part of Prussia. Press quote from the king ‘Another victory for Prussia, another victory for the German people as a whole!’
Foreign concerns about Denmarks loss of independence are brushed off by the Prussian foreign office. However, they make notes to watch Sweeden to ensure they don’t get any ideas. With a weak navy, it would be hard for us to fight the Sweedes at current.
http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/2769/denmarksatellitegd3.jpg
May 24th, 1841
An defensive alliance is formed between the Russians and the Prussians. Wishing no conflict between the nations, the Prussia had been building up relations for awhile, and the Russians were happy to sign such an agreement. Though they saw this as Prussian attempting to get them on side, in reality it is to ensure Russia will stay out of the unification wars we have planned…..we worry that they may attempt to attack our east flank whilst we are busy in the southern states so a treaty such as this helps us rest easier! The alliance is sealed in St. Petersburg with drinking of fine Champaign. However, Prussia diplomats express distaste at how the Russians treat their ‘peasant’ class. Equality seems to be an idea spreading amongst the Prussian populace…perhaps we should embrace it sooner rather than later….
A 2nd Diplomatic conference is held in Berlin, to appease those worriers amongst the Prussia ruling body.
http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/5383/2diplomaticconferencehw4.jpg
1843
Finally the time as come. Addressing the Prussian Ruling Elite, ComradeDavo explains his plan – ‘’basically we beat the crap out of everyone until we can form Germany’. To elaborate more, we shall conduct wars as fast as possible t annex the independent German states. We also need to force Austria to give us an Hungarian province, so we can create an independent Hungarian state with the aim of weakening Austria s they will cave to demands form their population to join a German empire.
March 14th – 60 Prussian divisions are mobilised. Fine soldiers indeed! The pride of the nation! We are sure they will perform well.
Foreign news report: The United States Of Central America died a death in the month of March 1843. Splitting into several countries,
European news report: Austria attacked and annexed Kracow. We worry abut that aggression, though will seek to exploit it.
A look at our forces arrayed…(we also have 50,000 men in the south east to liberate an Hungarian province named ‘Trenchin’)
http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/3958/forcesposisedtoinvadedx2.jpg
June the 1st, 1843 – WAR!
War is declared on Hesse Kassel. As expected, the majority of Independent German states join on their side. On June 13th, Austria entered the fray. We quickly sent word to Russia and Denmark to join our ‘defence’ (cue ‘Muwahahaha laugh) against the Austrians, which they accepted.
http://img360.imageshack.us/img360/1286/asutriadeclareswarid5.jpg
Prussian troops pour into their targets…..
June 29th – Anhalt Annexed
July 5th – Saxe-Weimer Annexed
July 13th – Leippe – Detmond annexed
July 21st – Hannover and Nasau annexed
August 2nd - Breman annexed
August 4th – Saxon annexed
August 11th – Oldenburg annexed
August 25th – Sax – Meinenger annexed
September 13th – Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and Hesse-Kassel annexed
October 1st – Hesse-Dermstandt annexed
October 11th – Lubeck and Frankfurt und meain annexed
November 12th – Hamburg annexed
December 6th – After occupying Wein and pushing forward on other fronts, the Austrians agree to cede Trenchin and be at peace. Hungary is created as a satellite state of Prussia!
http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/4536/hungarykq5.jpg
By the end of January 1844, the 3 remaining Independent German states (Baden, Württemberg and Bavaria) are all satellited.
In June, some ideas appear from Greece. Everybody seems more angry all of a sudden. We shrug it off.
http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/3865/greekconstitutioniu9.jpg
Between October 1844 and January 1845 the peace treaties are violated (by us) and Baden, Württemberg and Bavaria are fully assimilated. ComradeDavo expresses great pleasure at this news!
March 14th…
http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/9005/liberalrevlu0.jpg
Well, we kind of like the idea of a strong Democratic Germany anyhow….though the revolts that sure to happen will be an annoyance, we have up most confidence that the Prussia military shall be able to suppress them anyhow.
July see’s Braunchweig annexed.
Leaving only one small state to bring into the fold….
November the 9th – Mecklenburg annexed. Our internal unification wars are complete!
http://img386.imageshack.us/img386/3631/completejn7.jpg
The Prussian High Command all come to the palace and we drink…a lot!
Over the next three weeks the wealthy are given voting rights as we draw up a new constitution. It is decided that the German people shall have a vote! ComradeDavos signature is joined by those of the King, the army command and various other important member sof the new German society. We are sure that all parts of Germany are included, whether rich or poor!
December the first and these changes are brought into place….
http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/6089/constistutionkt4.jpg
And now what we have been waiting for, A GERMAN EMPIRE! The people demand it! As the last remnants of the old regime are swiftly torn down and replaced with the blessing of the Prussia Elite, popular unification as been achieved! A liberal, multi-party democracy we shalt be! Governing parties will be elected by the people! Their is partying in the streets! And seemingly fighting as well, as reactionary rebels hold on to past ideals and resent surrending powers... Of course ComradeDavo and his lackeys will remain to lend a ‘guiding hand….’
http://img378.imageshack.us/img378/875/popunifactationff6.jpg
ComradeDavo assumes his role as Kaiser with no opposition, and envoys are swiftly sent to Vienna, and the Austrians agree that it would be best to join the German empire.
http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/387/austriajoinswu6.jpg
We are united! Prussia’s aim of a strong German empire has been achieved! With their new freedoms brought about by liberal democracy, the people celebrate and there is much talk of what is possible in the future. Equality is put to the forefront of the nations concerns.
http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/6702/thegermanempireft0.jpg
Now we have achieved our dream of a German Empire, it is time to develop industry and ensure that the empire is protected. Immigration is soemthing we will want to attract alot of, and we need to turn ourselves into both an industrial and military powerhouse. We worry that Russia and France will seek to weaken us in the future…
More to follow….
ComradeDavo May 01, 2008, 01:10 PM Note: I wanted to get that part done all at once, and it sure took awhile! Made logicla sense to it in one big post though, when doing it by that method it can be risky and didn't want to start an aar then fail ! My fingers seemed to be attached to the keyboard!
Further updates will probably be shorter with more text and less images:) Though no guarantees! Feel free to offer advice and so forth, and i'll be sure to introduce those of you intrested as charachters at some point!
D'Artagnan59 May 01, 2008, 01:12 PM Ahh... Popular Unification. What a great thing.
I did almost the same thing, but made the mistake of taking all of Slovakia.
Now, ANNEX HUNGARY!!!!!
Beware, large amounts of revolts will happen.
ComradeDavo May 01, 2008, 01:23 PM Ahh... Popular Unification. What a great thing.
I did almost the same thing, but made the mistake of taking all of Slovakia.
Now, ANNEX HUNGARY!!!!!
Beware, large amounts of revolts will happen.
I might leave Hungary for awhile, one province doesn't really seem worthy of a badboy hit. I'm aware of the revolt risk, I must confess I have played as Prussia this way before! Though now I have unfied, I shall try and deviate from my previous game by having a much more agressive stance aimed at total dominance! I've had an urge since my last game to really go for world domination as Prussia!
D'Artagnan59 May 01, 2008, 03:22 PM It's just one badboy, I think.
Kan' Sharuminar May 01, 2008, 04:34 PM Nice work. British and French leaders must be having a heart attack at this takeover of Europe!
Volum May 01, 2008, 05:20 PM Your worried about the Badboy from annexing Hungary now? Isn't your BB already trough the roof from all the annexing,+ Austria? What is your BB btw?
Have youbeen a bad boy ComeradeDavo?
ComradeDavo May 02, 2008, 05:52 AM A look at the world in 1846
On the 2nd of February, 1846, Kaiser Davo addressed the newly formed German state:
‘’People of the empire, I salute you! For all our dreams of German unification have come to fruit! United we shall stand strong! Together we shall forge an empire base don equality and democracy! Think not of this as a nation forged and ruled by Prussia, think of it as nation built and run by the German people! Deutschland, Deutschland über alles, über alles in der Welt!!’’
http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/1672/germanflagei6.gif
Whilst the German people love this, elsewhere is is seen as a worrying sign of German nationalism. Already foreign newspapers discuss quotes from a Prussia general by the name of D’Artagnan59 who proposes fully annexing the fledging state of Hungary.
An American newspaper reports that France seems worried about it’s Alscace region. An anoymonous French offical was quoted as saying ‘With German inhabitants there, how long before this newly formed empire turns it’s eyes our way?’ The Franco-German border see’s tensions rising as France permantly stations troops there..
http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/7309/frenchtroopsontheborderes3.jpg
The Russian high command is rumoured to be in deep discussion about just how long their defence pact with Germany will last. Whilst relations remain cordial at current, the Tsar has been said to dismiss dismay at the breakdown of the monarchy in Germany and former Austria, and displeasure that the new ideas of democracy and liberalism are spreading. The Ottoman Empire, rather taken back by the developments, now fears for it’s northern borders. Having backed down in the 2nd Oriental Crisis, would they be able to withstand an incursion from the newly German border?
A quick look at relations with the great powers:
http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/138/relationsvx5.jpg
We are intrested to note Brazil’s assent to this status.
German generals also express their pleasure that the relationship with Sweeden does not seem to be suffering despite the large German influence in Danish affairs.
Also what of Italy? The powers in the Italian states all have negative relations with the newly formed German empire. Trouble ahead? Though for the time being they seem pre-occupied in unification ideas of their own.
In other world news, the borders between the USA and British owned Canada have become established and stable, whilst India has seen the British seek to expand their influence by annexing Punjab. The new states in Central America seem to be no threat to anyone, though German intelligence shall monitor them in case any of the European powers seek to become involved.
One more thing of intrest:
http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/4255/populationwc2.jpg
With territories now covering a vast part of central Europe, Germany in fact has a larger population than Russia! Also in the far east Japans large population shows potential....could they one day emerge as a great power?
ComradeDavo May 02, 2008, 05:57 AM Nice work. British and French leaders must be having a heart attack at this takeover of Europe!
Thanks :)
Your worried about the Badboy from annexing Hungary now? Isn't your BB already trough the roof from all the annexing,+ Austria? What is your BB btw?
Have youbeen a bad boy ComeradeDavo?
A quick look tells me 138.29 :mischief:
So yeah your probably right about Hungary:lol:
ComradeDavo May 02, 2008, 04:18 PM Part 2 – Securing the nation
As suspected, in May of 1846 the alliance between Russia and Germany came to an end. The Russians, displaying no interest to renew it, began to once again garrison their borders with Germany, who responded in kind.
Quoted in state press, ComradeDavo commented ‘we Germans wish for nothing but peace with our Russian neighbours. Though this alliance is ended, we hope that relations between our two great nations will remain cordial’
It was clear that the Tsar wished to distance himself from the new democratic ideas abound in Germany.
http://img122.imageshack.us/img122/4660/russiaallianceexpiressb6.jpg
In August of that year the first elections since the formation of the German nation were held. Unsurprisingly, since only the wealthy could vote, a liberal, pro-business party was elected after a short campaign. Whilst dissent was voiced that the population as a whole were not given a vote, promises were made that universal suffrage will be examined for future elections.
http://img122.imageshack.us/img122/8750/1846electiondn4.jpg
The final figures for the election were as follows…
Liberaldem. Partei 64.91%
Konservative Partei 22.3%
Radical Arbeteparitei 12.96%
This meant that the liberals had a dominant majority in the Reichstag. One of the consequences of this was that the defence budget had to be reduced, to pay for tariff relive as the government seek to make it cheaper for it’s citizens to buy consumer goods. Capitalists, encouraged by this change of government, began tentatively to build factories and even some railroads.
1847 was a year of revolts, as Aristocratic and Conservative elements amongst the former Austrian parts of the empire resorted to violence as their anger at loss of power to what they saw as Prussian dominance. Former members of the Habsburg family were rumoured to be behind militias that rose up to control of seize towns though they were careful to ensure their evolvement was never proved. The German army was forced on several occasions to seize back areas from rebel control, and many rebels were hung as traitors.
http://img240.imageshack.us/img240/5161/hangingnoosejq9.jpg
In areas of Germany where non-Germanic peoples reside, there were many rebellions from radical anarchist nationalists, seeking the opportunity to gain separation from the German state. Naturally, these were crushed by the glorious German army.
In August of that year, a great peace demonstration was held in Berlin. Attended by ComradeDavo himself, pacifism was promoted as Germany’s administration sought to calm fears of invasion from foreign forces angry at Germans swift rise to power. Addressing the crowds, ComradeDavo spoke about the need for unity and for the need to end divisions in German society.
http://img240.imageshack.us/img240/5844/new20dovezx2.jpg
1848 saw a shocking event as a prominent Konservative member of parliament Erik Brockschmidt was assassinated on June the 1st by radical Slovakian anarchist Alexander Dubček as he walked from the Reichstag to his waiting carriage. ‘The bullet pratically tore his head off!!’ an exitable witness was rumoured to have commented.
http://img122.imageshack.us/img122/4740/assinationpic3bc8.jpg
Dubček was later shot trying to escape German police in Munich, where he had fled to a safe house.
1848 also saw the German government finally pay off the debt it had accumulated in the unification wars and also an interesting political development as Socialist and Communist parties were formed. They promise to support the working classes and demand equal rights for all citizens, and propose a lot more state control over industry. The Communists go further, calling for the overthrow of capitalism and the dictatorship of the proletariat. Though with current voting rights only for the wealthy their chances of gaining election are minimal, growing calls for universal suffrage and the growing conscience of the working classes are something the German administration should be aware of.
http://img391.imageshack.us/img391/711/hammerandsicklelg2.png
On December 27th 1848 a parliamentary scandal erupted in the Reichstag as the Konservative party revealed information it had acquired that a prominent member of the ruling liberal party had in fact spend Christmas day in bed with a prostitute! The minister in question, Lutz Milles, head of the Ministry of Agriculture, was forced to resign before the year was up. It is believed that he has since left the country for South America, the shame being to much to bear after being treated as an outcast by German society. The catholic church voiced it’s dismay at the modern worlds ‘decadent society’.
http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/1121/redridinghoodkq6.jpg
1850 saw the end of the liberal revolution in Europe.
http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/175/endoflibrevpic4xc8.jpg
Monarchies across the continent breathed sighs of relief.
In Germany, brief tax relief was given to the rich to encourage building of railroads and factories. At a campaign rally in September for the forthcoming elections there was strong talk of granting all non-German inhabitants full citizenship, with the cry ‘equal rights for all humans!’. The German ruling body convened to discuss the possibility of allowing free press, granting universal suffrage and allowing the formation of trade unions. Whilst the ideas were generally supported, they have been delayed for the time being whilst the treasury builds up it’s funds to help ease the passage of such changes.
1851 and the great Prussian general Neumüster passed away in his sleep at his family mansion. He was given a state funeral, where his comrades spoke highly of his skills in fighting the unification wars. On his tombstone were inscribed the words ‘A True German Patriot’.
The election that year saw the liberals re-elected with another convincing majority.
The results in may 10th 1851 were as follows…
(Remember, still only the wealthy have voting rights)
Liberaldem. Partei 76.39%
Konservative Partei 19.51%
Sozialdem Arbeitepartei 4.10%
The Socialists were pleased to gain votes amongst the wealthy sympathetic to their cause in their first election since coming into existence. Konservatives, dismayed at their 2nd loss in a row, ditched their party leader Mike Meise in favour of a new man, Hans-Peter Gutjahr who promised to turn their fortunes around in the next 4 years. The Liberals celebrated their return to office and promised to move Germany forward and create a wealthy prosperous nation.
At the end of 1951 two important decisions were reached:
Meritocracy was chosen over Autocracy in what was seen as a snub to the elitists amongst German society who still clung to the old ideals of the monarchy.
Populism was chosen over the establishment in determining voter habits. Elections will be influenced a lot more by the issues that are debated.

Thoughts/comments anyone?:) Btw what do you guys normally pick for those last 2 choices?
Kan' Sharuminar May 04, 2008, 02:07 PM Chaos, rebellion and scandal in the government? This is what you get for putting a liberal in power :mischief:
Nice update. I don't have much knowledge of Victoria though - are you purposely pushing for a more liberal Germany, or is it the best/most common thing to do for Germany in the game?
D'Artagnan59 May 04, 2008, 09:20 PM Slovakian anarchist, eh?
Hungary has a region in Slovakia. That's probably where the assassin came from. INVADE HUNGARY!!!

By creating Germany via the popular unification method, you by default create a Liberal Germany. My intention is to get a high plurality and probably switch to a Socialist government at some point, so I can attract lots of immigrants, plus I want the 'full citizenship' policy that the Socialist party has so then I can nicely convery all my farmers to craftsmen/clerks and create a powerhouse ecomony to fund my war efforts:D

Nice logic:goodjob:
ComradeDavo May 05, 2008, 05:05 PM Part 3 – Defending the nation!
On January 7th 1852 Sardinia-Piedmont and their French allies declared war upon the nation of Germany, claiming German aggression had forced them to make a pre-emptive strike. However elsewhere in the world it was viewed as a shameless attempt to whip up Italian nationalism as Sardinia-Piedmont strived to unite the Italians into a nation state with the blessing of France, who wished for a strong ally to challenge German dominance of the continent. Senior Reichstag member Rainer Bühler described the war as ‘the most serious test we have had to face since unification’.
http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/9376/waruk3.jpg
A decision was made by the German high command that we would not involve our Danish allies as we would be unable to defend their borders (particularly Iceland and Greenland) if they were attacked, as France’s naval capabilities far outweigh our own, plus we have no wish to send troops into Danish territory should the French attempt to land there. Due to lack of funds, it was decided mobilisation of reserves would be delayed and the war conducted with the regular army for the time being. With the French defending newly acquired land in the east (indo-china) it was hoped they would struggle to bring sufficient forces to the German/French border.
On the domestic front, there was great controversy in Germany on February the 1st the government proclaimed that no longer would it take the advice of clerics in governing the nation. On a war footing, it was in no mood to listen to endless sermons about some chap named Jesus, and proclaimed that religion would stay out of politics. Such anti-clericalism infuriated the religious members of German society, though a national poll determined that at least 25% of the nation favouring atheism as an important issue anyhow. It should also be noted that later that year in June the German government continued it’s assault on the aristocracy and traditionalism when the Reichstag voted overwhelmingly that from now on government services would appoint people on merit rather that family ties. Bureaucracy triumphed over Nepotism.
Anyway, back to the war! February the 10th saw the only real German advance into French territory made in 1852 as 48,000 infantrymen marched into and occupied the border province of Metz.
On the Italian front, in April the province of Novarra was occupied by German forces, swiftly followed by Alessandria the next month. Such defeats were devastating for Sardinia-Piedmont’s morale, and on June the 15th they offered to cede Novarra in return for peace. The war had been at utter failure on their part, and German officials were quick to praise the manner in which German troops had defeated their Italian counter parts. Foreign newspapers described the peace treaty as a major blow for Sardinia-Piedmont’s hopes for Italian unification.
http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/6346/peacewiththeitaliansgz8.jpg
France however, remained stubborn and continued to fight, so there was no celebration to be had in Germany. The remainder of the year and the first half of the next saw veterans from the Italian front move to the French border, and fight off any attempt to advance into German territory, with France rejecting any peace deal offered. The German people were losing patience. Finally a decision was made to mobilise the troops, we would take the fight to the French!
On July the 21st, 1853 news reached the German government that war had broken out in the Crimea. Seeking to topple the Ottoman empire and fuelled by the pan-Slavic movement, Russia had gone to war! However both the British and the French pledged to defend the Ottomans, declaring war on the Russians in the following days. The Tsar was said to have raged for hours at this news. Sardinia-Piedmont also sent troops to the Crimean battlefields as they sought to regain favour and re-ignite their quest for Italian unification.
Kaiser Davo was said to be most pleased with these developments. With our enemies fighting each other, we can focus on beating France and developing our Industry.
It must be noted that during the war a women by the name of Florence Nightingale played an important role in revolutionising hospital standards as she cared for wounded British troops.
http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/8941/florencenightingaleiq5.jpg
As we entered September, the mobilisation was complete and German troops deployed to the French front.
http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/8400/troopsdeployeddk0.jpg
The war immedicately turned in the Germans favour as France was pushed back in all areas. As time and blood flowed into 1854, we achieved a huge victory at Mülhausen as countless numbers of French troops were either killed or captured. This really broke the back of the French army and German troops poured through French lines, acheiving victories at every turn. The French fell back suffering heavy losses.
http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/1500/warwithfranceqc1.jpg
(note the horribly large amount of war exhaustion in the screenshot!)
Finally on September 30th, over 2 and half years since the war had begun, German troops took Paris. Though the French bitterly resisted, German force of arms triumphed as French parliamentary buildings were surrounded and then occupied by German troops. With their capital fallen, the French armies were in disarray. Within a week a peace treaty was signed handing over control of Alsace-Lorraine to the triumphent but exhausted German forces. French ministers were said to have hung their heads in shame as they signed the peace treaty in Paris.
http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/3554/peacewithfrancedo1.jpg
‘PEACE AT LAST! WE ARE VICTORIOUS!’ proclaimed German state newspapers on October the 7th 1854. The truth of the matter was that the economy was struggling under the strain of war and the war coffers running dry. Nether the less, the victory was played up and Kaiser Davo swiftly embarked on a victory tour of the new German provinces, awarding medals to hundreds of war veterans. Greeted as a hero by the liberated Germanic people living their, he called on the country as a whole to embrace its new peoples, and to treat the French population in the new lands with ‘fairness and respect’.

Meanwhile the Crimean war continues, with Russia suffering defeats in around Sevastopol to a force led by Sardinia-Piedmont and only achieving minimal advances in Ottoman territory. Determined to recover after the long war with France, Germany shall remain neutral in the conflict.
ComradeDavo May 06, 2008, 12:32 PM Part 4 – Onwards and Upwards
As Germany progressed into 1855 it became apparent that there had rapid shifts in society since Davo had assumed his role as Kaiser and the German people embraced Democracy.
http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/6825/aristocratswithdrawvi5.jpg
In July it was finally determined that not only the wealthy would decide elections in this Democracy, but the German people as a whole would be granted the vote. Be they farmer of landowner, all would have a say. Universal suffrage was adopted.

In world news, the Crimean War continued to rage with Persia siding with the Russians against the Ottomans and the British, though not the French or Sardinians.
Across the ocean, the United States was locked in conflict with the Mexicans over dominance of North America.
As the year ended, despite the British gaining in Finland, the Ottoman Empire sued for peace with the Russians, ceding several provinces in a treaty which seriously undermined their standing in the world.
The elections of 1856 saw people calling for change as a Konservative government was elected. Results on Febuary 9th were as follows..
Konservative Partei (conservative) – 43.64%
Liberaldem Partei (liberal) – 32.39%
Radical Arbeitepartei (anarcho-liberal) – 17.02%
Nationale Partei (reactionary) – 2.82%
Communist Arbeiterpartei (communist) – 2.36%
Sozialdem Arbeiterpartei (socialist) – 1.76%
It seems people were harking back for the days of authoritarianism and tradionalism, though it was only seen as temporary by Kaiser Davo.
Before the year was up, Persia had agreed to peace and left the Crimean war.
1857 saw Russia accept defeat and give away important areas of land to British control. The Russians had taken a serious beating, with British troops even occupying St. Petersburg and the Tsar being forced to flee to Moscow.
http://img162.imageshack.us/img162/4761/russiaafterpeacepq5.jpg
We in Germany are most disturbed by the lands the British have gained. Whilst on the one hand it has effectively removed the Russian threat (we doubt they would ever be able to fight a long war with us after such a defeat and loss of land) it dismays us no end to see British land on the continent. The only consolation is that both the Irish and the Indians have been giving the British troubles, with some Indians rising in mutiny before 1857 was done.
On the domestic front the liberalisation of Germany continued as freedom of the press was granted and trade unions were allowed to form, be they socialist or not. The German working class was soon forming unions as workers banded together to demand better wages and working conditions, and national newspapers from all ideologies came into print. The Conservative government soon bore the brunt of this new found freedom of speech as their minister for trade was exposed by a liberal leaning paper as having taken bribes by foreign companies wishing to expand into German markets.

1858 was only notable for the death of General Yorck, who had fought on both the Italian and French fronts during the war. He was given a state funeral where his fellow generals paid tribute to his spirit and tactical genius.
In the UK there was much talk of a new book ‘on the origin of species’ published by a Charles Darwin in January of 1859, and his theories that man had evolved from monkeys. Clergymen in Germany called his ideas that man had evolved from apes as ‘nonsense’ though Kaiser Davo himself voiced his praise for the book in several newspaper interviews, and it was implied that the German government accepted the evolutionary ideas presented.

Charles Darwin
1859 also saw the US-Mexican war end with the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. The USA had greatly expanded their borders and the Mexicans greatly beaten back, which led to civil war in their nation the next year. The US now consisted on 48 states.
The election of 1860 saw the Liberals once more regain the Reichstag. The Socialist party splintered as internal divisions weakened them.
The election on November the 10th saw the following results…
Liberaldem Partei (liberal) – 46.44%
Konservative Partei (conservative) – 26.79%
Radical Arbeitepartei (anarcho-liberal) – 20.79%
Deutscher Arbeiterverein (socialist) – 2.77%
Nationale Partei (reactionary) – 2.43%
Sozialdem Arbeiterpartei (socialist) – 0.40%
Communist Arbeiterpartei (communist) – 0.37%
The conservative’s policy of high tariffs on foreign goods ‘to protect German farmers’ was seen as their major downfall. However 2 years later and already the Liberal party had faced internal struggles as 2 splinter parties were formed after arguments over the parties military stance.

May the 1st 1862 – The Communist Manifesto is published for the first time in Germany. Karl Marx and Fredrick Engels sent shivers down capitalists spines as the German working class flocked to the bookstores in droves and the ideas of the working classes running the country spread from worker to worker. ‘WORKING MEN OF ALL COUNTRIES UNITE!’ was the cry in the streets.

Otto Von Bismarck, a prominent German statesman who had been tipped for great things, quit parliament on May 22nd 1862 after a furious argument with Kaiser over the direction of the country.

The next 2 months sent shockwaves through European politics as the kingdom of Two Sicilies asserted their dominance over the ‘unification question’ and swiftly annexed all but Sardinia-Peidmont, who resisted along with their French allies. Giuseppe Garibaldi led the armies of the Kingdom of Two Sicilies on a swift campaign across the country, achieving several victories.

On November 23rd they achived victory and the nation of Italy was formed!
http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/2320/italybornpn6.jpg
The French, angry that there preffered faction had lost the war, continiued to fight against the Italians. We in Germany are worried by the suddent rise of Italy to the world stage, and decide it’s time to recruit more army regiments to man the German-Italian borders. On the domestic front we faced minot trouble with Polish rebels, who on 3rd October took to the streets demanding Polish independence. However they faced critism from all sides of the political spectrum, who for once united in the idea of national unity (though for different reasons, of course!).
1865 saw a tiff between Germany and Montenegro. After they had called German women ‘loose and promiscuous’ we demanded an aplogy and thretened them with war. The apology was given, our pride regained.
http://img384.imageshack.us/img384/3355/diplomaticinsultml7.jpg
The election that year saw the Liberals re-elected. Under the guidance of their new leader Jost Klar they had survived the internal split and maintained control in the Reichstag. Despite the growing consious of the working classes, the Left-Wing parties continued to do badly at the ballot box.
August 10th election results:
Liberaldem Partei (liberal) – 43.98%
Konservative Partei (conservative) – 24.97%
Radical Arbeitepartei (anarcho-liberal) – 10.53%
Nationaleliberale Partei (liberal) 6.57%
Communist Arbeiterpartei (communist) – 5.45%
Freisinnger Partei (liberal) - 4.46%
Nationale Partei (reactionary) – 2.31%
Deutscher Arbeiterverein (socialist) – 1.42%
Sozialdem Arbeiterpartei (socialist) – 0.31%
April 3rd 1866 and France and Italy finally agree to a white peace. Italy had secured itself as a unified nation. We will watch them carefully.
October that year and a German national newspaper ran an article discussing the German economy that had profound effetcs on both the German establishment and working population.

In March of 1869 our neighbours where shocked as we suddenly mobilised our troops. Though the purpose at the time was not given, I can exclusively reveal to CFC that it was for an invasion of Switzerland. The plan had been to fight the war in 2 stages, firstly seizing 75% of their land from them reducing them to a crippled state, then several years later annexing them with the intention to fight the French afterwards.
However, this plan did not come to fruit, as after several years of fortifying their border the Russians decided it was time to ‘teach the Germans a lesson’ and along with their Persian allies declared war on us on Apil the 4th. The Kaiser and his government swiftly set about drawing up battleplans and redirecting the mobilsised troops to the Russian front. A message was sent to the Tsar from the Kaiser simply reading 'You utter git!'

D'Artagnan59 May 06, 2008, 06:05 PM Crush them, take Poland. Maybe Lithuania too.
Kan' Sharuminar May 08, 2008, 06:19 PM Very bold of Russia, isn't it? After losing against both France and Britain you would think they would seek closer ties to the one power in Europe that has been nothing short of friendly to them.
Take the fight to them, old chap!
ComradeDavo May 09, 2008, 08:11 AM Part 5 –A Nation Built On Blood
Our new enemies in Russia have a heavily fortified border and the advantage of surprise. We however have superior troops and tatics! The first move in the war on our part was to separate the deploying forces into army groups, each with different goals for the duration of the conflict.
http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/508/imperialgermansoldiergegh3.jpg
A soldier in the German Army
150,000 men were designated to North Army Group. Their goal was to capture St. Petersburg, to make it easier to end the war on out terms when needed. General Kan' Sharuminar was specially assigned to lead them in this aim. They were supported by another 150,000 men whose goal is to fight in Lithuania and defeat any focres that may threaten the north army group. They are designated ‘Lithuania Army Group’.
300,000 men were formed into the Polish army group. The idea to capture and hold Warsaw and surrounding areas, with intention that this be taken from the Russians as our #1 goal in any peace treaty. Gerneral D'Artagnan59 as architect of this goal was given control of the force.
150,000 men are designated to Ukraine, to defend our borders and advance if possiable. Lastly 100,00 men to fight in the Southern front, to advance and kill/capture as many troops as neede dto secure victory there.
http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/672/1russiawarza9.jpg
Fighting broke out across all the fronts. Where Russian troops advanced they were beaten back, and where German troops advanced they make steady gains into Russia territory. Aware of the defeate of Napolean in the past in the harsh Russian winter, Germany generals ensured supply lines were never too outsreched and that the separate army groups were capable of linking up to support each other where need be.
In the North after several bloody engagements the North Army Group broke through the Russian lines in September and began to march for St. Petersburg. Eslewhere the Russia border posts were overun as German troops gained the upper hand.
http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/6738/marchingtostpetersburgcl4.jpg
A month later and the Polish Army Group had succeded as they marched into the city of Warsaw, Russian forces breaking and fleeing the city. Whilst some Poles treated the Germans as liberators, others displayed anger at the unwillingness of German polticians to even discuss Polish independence let alone ever agree to it. Polish nationalism is something we need to kepe in check!
http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/401/plevnasx9.jpg
Come Novemember, and the North Army Group prepared for it’s attack on St. Petersburg. As they surveyed the cities hastily constructed defences it was clear that they had the upper hand and outbumbered the Russian foces. The Tsar by now had fled to Moscow and the local morale was low.
The same month and Germany suffered domestic woes as an already streched war economy suffered another blow. We need to end this war fast!
As we moved into December the world was shocked as Britain and their dominion Canada (I knew those sneaky Canadians were up to something!) declared war on Germany! The Kaiser was angry as his plans to take large swathes of land form the Russians were ruined as troops ould now need to be diverted to both attack British land in Latvia/Lithuania and to defend the North German shores from landing parties.
http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/5214/ukdeclareswarwn4.jpg
December 11th (2 days following this news) and North Army Group had overun St.Petersburgs defences and occupied the city. The shame of having the capital occupied by foriegn forces once more was said to have driven the Tsar to beat one of his servants have to death. This was of course denied by Russian state media and the man who had printed the story was last seen beign dragged kicking and screaming into the Russian Secret Police’s Headquaters in Moscow. Eager to end the war to focus on defending against the British, the Kaiser immediately offered the Russians a peace settlement that was accepted, in which 4 provinces in Poland (including Warsaw) plus 3 provinces in Latvia/Lithuania were handed over to German control. This wasn’t as much as we had hoped for, indeed Gerneral D'Artagnan59 voiced his disappointment that the whole of Poland had not been gained. But with war debt starting to pile up and the British to repel, a quick end was needed against the Russians.
1870 and we swiftly overran the British holdings in Latvia/Lithuania. This had been predicted, after all the British had never really fortified them since capturing them from the Russians not so long ago. Marching the tired army groups straight back from the front proved vital as the British attempted to set up a foothold in the North West at Oldenburg, which we resisted well. As the war continued into the year the port city of Danzig also came under attack by British forces but never in numbers enough for them to achieve a foothold.
The elections saw parties campaigning against the backdrop of war and economic hardship. The liberals managed to retain control only with promises to seek out a quick peace.
May 10th’s results saw the parties standing at:
(figures rounded up/down to nearest .5)
Liberaldem Partei (liberal) – 42%
Konservative Partei (conservative) – 31%
Radical Arbeitepartei (anarcho-liberal) – 7.5%
Nationaleliberale Partei (liberal) 6.5%
Nationale Partei (reactionary) – 4%
Deutscher Arbeiterverein (socialist) – 2.5%
Sozialdem Arbeiterpartei (socialist) – 2%
Freisinnger Partei (liberal) - 2%
Communist Arbeiterpartei (communist) – 1%
The war continued and we could do nothing but wait for British landings and repel them. In the Mediterranean Sea we attempted to scout out British held Cyprus with the navy we had inherited from Austria however it was intercepted returnign to port by a British navy squadron and several ships were lost. The Kaiser made particular note that the navy would need vast expansion once the economy was up and running again if we ever intended to serious compete with the Brits on a world stage and go beyond mainland Europe.
Finally on Novemember the 5th in neutral Stockholm a treaty was signed ending the war with the British. A white peace was decalared. Bitter that the Brits had refused to give up land in Lithuania and Latvia the Kaiser secretly began planning to increase the size of Germanys standing forces and gain land elsehwere. These past 2 years had shown us we can not count on our neighbours to respect our authoirity in Europe and thus we shall ram it down their throats if need be!
http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/4803/whiteflaggy8.jpg
And so the economy began to recover from the stresses of war and buissness returned to normal in Germany. At least intill April of 1871, when the government was forced into a reshuffle after the Liberal MR (Member of Reichstag) for Kiel, Axel von Rüden, was sacked over allegations of buying votes in the past elections. He was jailed for 15 years for voter fraud and stripped of his lands and titles.
Internal woes continued as new years celebrations were swiftly forgotten as the nation entered 1872 facing an uprising in Warsaw from Polish nationalists, which was crushed with veterans from the Russian front. The Kaiser stressed need for unity, though nationalist rumblings remained as still Poles and alike only had limited citizenship in the nation at current.
March 22nd 1873 and the long planned invasion of Switzerland is a go! Codenamed ‘Operation Iron’ German generals made careful not to alert foreign powers to our plans by conducting the war entirely with regular troops, not mobilzing as before, though several new divisons were recruited prior to the invasion. The Kaiser was careful to note though that such a large military was straining our budget….we need to grow our economy!
http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/8934/troopsposiedtoinvadeswiue1.jpg
War was officially declared on April the 1st, the Swiss ambassordor initially asking if this was some april fools joke! German toops faced zero resistence as they stormed across Swiss lands, their army non-existent. June the 8th and a peace settlement left the Swiss with nothing but their capital province, Bern!
http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/6249/newswissbordergr6.jpg
1874 saw trouble with the Dutch as German police forces seized weapons cargos being smuggled by Dutch traders to Swiss rebels. When the smugglers were hung in view of the Dutch border their was international outcry and relation are now at an all time low between our 2 countries. The economy suffered further as a stock market crash saw several of Germanys richest residents make big losses. The Socialist party Deutscher Arbeiterverein disbanded, their members agreeing to work as part of the Sozialdem Arbeiterpartei in future. Their was rejoicing in Hamburg as a new zoo was opened, people from all over Germany flocking to see the exotic animals.
http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/5660/zoobi4.jpg
The election of 1875 saw the Liberasl retain power once again. The Kaiser Davo was heard to express privatelt that he wished the Socialists would gain power.
Results from Febuary 9th:
(figures rounded up/down to nearest .5)
Liberaldem Partei (liberal) – 44.5%
Konservative Partei (conservative) – 22%
Radical Arbeitepartei (anarcho-liberal) – 10.5%

1876 and the British continued to expand their empire by taking control over large parts of empire. We wondered who’d there next target would be…..

July 30th 1877 and we are once again at war with the British and those damn Canadians! In the process of mobilizing over 110 divions we where then taken by surprise as the French decalared war on us as well, though seemingly seperately from the Brits who they are not on so great terms with. To help combat the French we request Danish assistance.
http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/2400/francedecalreswariy2.jpg
The descion to fight us had proved a poor one for the French as we overan their border defences thoughout september and october. British attempts at establishing beachheads at Stade and Keil were defeated in November, German troops remarking that it was ‘easy to shoot those red bastards, they stand out like an elephant in a bakery!’ in reference to the Brits choice of uniforms.
Into December and the French were falling back on all fronts. De Ja Vu? They offered us a peace deal whoch would have sene us gain 3 provinces but with victory and victory being reported we decided to press further so we could demand more!
As the war continued into 1878 British Latvia was overrun by German troops, opposistion swept away. The Kaiser yet again turned his thoughts to developing a navy so one day we can actually take the fight to the British!
March 14th and Paris was captured after 3 months of bloody fighting in and around the city, This led to them offering a new peace offer in April which we accepted. We had gained a lot of land and the French are now seriously weakened. In a few years time perhaps we will seek to gain more. We now were very close to Paris, any future war would indeed be swift!
http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/7159/newfrenchbordernf8.jpg
The British followed suit not long after with an offer of white peace which we accepted. The Kaiser was glad the war was over! We had proven ourselfs victorious once again. German might of arms was something that Europe feared!
To finish off the year we annexed Switzerland once the peace deal had expired. They are now completly part of the German nation!

In the election year of 1879 the Konservative party fractured after bitter infighting over the military policy they believed Germany should adapt.

And so a new decade began. As we celebrated the start of 1880 Germany began it’s quest for ‘A place in the sun’ by starting work on 3 colonial fortress’s on the West Coast Of Africa.
Here’s quick look at some population stats as we enter a new decade:

To end this update, Kaiser Davo penned some thoughts regarding his plans for the future of Germany:
- We need to improve our naval technology, we are far behind everyone. No one will trade with us at the moment so we need to improve our international relations with a couple of countires (Sweden being one), get a load of cash and make them big offers so we can get some tech.
- We need to get a Socialist government! Full citzenship will be a huge advantage as a growing foriegn population will suddenly become available for our factories! To do this will be tricky!
- We need to expand! Perhaps take more land from Russia? They are weak and we could mobilise and atatck!

ComradeDavo May 13, 2008, 10:02 AM Part 6 – The Red Flag Rises!
In 1880 we won the rights to build a trading post in Alula, on the coast of East Africa. Colonial fortress’s were then constructed in a few neighbouring provinces, though Oman has a claim in one. Germany had begun the race for Africa!
1881 began with a huge internal political dispute, as Bismarck emerged from retirement to propose a serious of reforms to ‘help the German worker’. Many saw this as his tactical play to ‘defend’ against workers converting to Socialism. The cost would however have been substantial and after several days of debate in the Reichstag the bill was defeated, causing a huge rise in disillusionment with the government as latest national polls showed their voter support base abandoning them.
http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/7605/nobismarkreformsns6.jpg
Following on from this several regional newspapers published articles calling for separate states to be created in Poland, Slovakia and former Swiss and French lands, leading to a rise in millitancy amongst ‘minorities’ in Germany, angry at having only limited citzenship in the country. The tide is defintely turning in German politics!
The year ended with news that France had expanded it’s North African empire with an annexation of Morroco, international observers speculating that this was an attempt to strengthen themselve sin the wake of such a loss of land to Germany in recent years.
Moving through 1882 into 1883, the German colony of Yebuti was founded on the East African coast. There was speculation amngst German generals whether to use it as a base to strike at Oman, though this idea was postponed ‘untill German naval forces rival that of the UK’s’. The West African coast also saw German fortress’s and trading posts being constucted.
1884 was a dramatic year for Germany and saw a fundamental shift in the political spectrum. The year started with the ideas of Charles Darwin being further adopted by a large swathe of the population and becomign embeded in German society. Then in august after a busy election campaign the Liberal government finally lost power as they were defeated by the German Socialist party! In fact they even sliped into 3rd place behind the Konservatives!
Results of August 10th were as follows:
(rounded to nearesr .5)
Socialist Arbeitepartei – 32%
Konservative Partei – 22.5%
Liberaldem – 20.5%
Nationalists – 8%
Zentrumspartei (liberal) – 4%

Introducing new state control of industry and granting full citzenship to everyone resiing within German borders, the party saw the nation rapidly change as borders were opened to invite immigrants and the Industrial revoloution (as it was being called) was accelerated. Factories were constructed at rapid pace and the German population educated as farmers left there lands to work in the factories. Whereas before only German citizens had done this, now everyone from the Italians to the Poles were given the oppurtunities to work as craftsmen. Ideas of equality and socialist idealism were becoming the foundation of German politics.
In Novemember of 1885 the French, worried by this new idealogy ruling Germany and still bitter over their loss of land in the previous year declared ‘colonial war’ upon Germany in Africa, where German forces are weak. Calling the French ‘cowards’ we begun the defence of our fledgling colnies.
The next year started violently as conservative politician and vocal opponent of socialism Michael Koßmann was assassinated in his living room by radical communist Nathalie Osterloh, who actually posed as his new house made before stabbing him 3 times in the back. Arrested and sentenced to death, the socialist government did it’s best to ensure that law and order would be enforced though conservatives across Germany displayed their outrage and took to the streets in protest.
In the summer a plan to defeat the French in Africa was hatched as 36,000 German troops were ‘sneaked’ round Italy and landed in Tunisia. They began their campaign to capture the French colonies.
http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/4725/sneakingtroopsqg0.jpg
The year ended with the arrest of several Moldavian nationals, who were attempting to smuggle weapons to Czech sepratists in Southern Germany. They were hung at dawn on Christmas day.
1887 and 1888 saw us fighting French partisans in Africa as the colonial conflict continued. On the domestic front the Womens Suffrage movement gained momentum as women campaigned for the vote, finally being granted it after several high profile stunts and conflict with the more tradionalists amongst the German government.
http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/3984/voteswomenbc4.jpg
Finally in 1889 the colonail war in Africa resulted in our victory as the French surrendered several North African provinces!

The Socialists achieved a huge victory in the may 10th election, solidifying their control of the Reichstag as support for other parties collasped in the face of the reforms and changes the party had brought about.
Socialist Arbeitepartei – 70%
Radicals (anarcho-liberal) – 12%
Liberaldem – 8%
All other parties recived less than 1% of the vote! Conservatism was now pratically dead in Germany!
1890 saw an intresting start as the new nation of Luxemburg break free from Dutch control.
http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/439/luxemburgry6.jpg
The following month a dispute with Belgium over relatiosn with the new country saw relations damaged as Belguim newspapers insulted Germany, to which we reacted to with anger and demands that the Belguims apologise, which they eventually did.
As we expanded in West Africa the domestic front saw the Industrial Revoloution continue as more and more citizens left their farms to work in the towns and cities fuelling the German economy, With our pro-immigration policies citizens from other European countires came to live the ‘socialist dream’, many of them coming to fill the vacant jobs left in the countryside.
http://naturalpatriot.org/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/industrial_revolution.jpg
There was however much concern over the lack of regulations regarding workign in the factories and over the amount of smog and pollution being produced. The Socialist party promised to address this in future once Germany’s place as the worlds number 1 super power was cemented.
1894 – Febuary 9th elections:
Socialist Arbeitepartei – 54%
Radicals (anarcho-liberal) – 27%
Liberaldem – 12%

We also conducted a trade that year that saw us part with vast somes of cash to aqquire a couple of naval techs from Sweden. The year then ended badly for us as the French decided to ‘have a notehr go’ in Africa and declared another colonial war. They had planned for this one though and we do not have the forces available in the colonies (nor the naval capabilities to reinforce them) and the areas we had received in the previous peace deal were over run by French troops who flooded into the area.

1895 saw us getting kicked in Africa by the French! The end of the year saw German newspapers run a hate campaign against their allies the Italians, who though not involved directly in the colonial war were giving the French diplomatic support. Many Germans began calling for a campaign to take land from Italy - ‘to secure our borders’ as one newspaper argued. Bearing this in mind, we begin to draw up potential invasion plans.
1886 and still the French are pounding us in Africa, even rejecting peace offers to receive back African lands we had taken from them before. German pride remained somewhat intact though as Germany won the contract to build the Baghdad railroad, to help establish trade in the areas and give us real access to the Persian Gulf. We also sent a few athletes to the ‘first modern Olympics’ which were held in Athens, Greece during June and July! German athletes performed well, earning 3 gold medals and several silver and bronzes!
http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/1451/800pxolympicringssvgec7.png
1887 passed with still no peace in Africa, and we moved into 1888 with the news that the United States Of America was now at war with Spain after the USS Maine was sunk in Havana Harbor.
We also fell out with Luxemburg after one of their politicians mocked or failure to beat the French in Africa.
The November 10th election saw the Socialist do well again, despite the war in the colonies people were happy with them on the domestic front. The Liberals were however doing better as many Germans wished for a return to laissez fair economics.
Socialist Arbeitepartei – 51.5%

With the election campaign done with, the Socialist government turned their eyes towards Italy, the descion being taken to ‘teach ‘em a lesson’ and the following month 166 divisions were mobilised. The Italians however clearly anticipated the comign war and decalred it themselves, perhaps hoping to shock us into peace. Well that wasn’t going to happen with 1,660,000 German troops heading their way! We also brought Denmark into the war, and they promised to use their navy to our advandtage.

1899
3 Italian trading posts/missions are captured in Africa in the first couple of months of the year.
In Febuary, the mobilised troops were deploye dto the italian front and immediately began offensive operations. Smashing through Italian border posts they routed Italian divisions and began occupation of Italian provinces. Simple force of numbers are securing us victory! Our simple but effective plan basically involved large units of troops driving straight though Italian lines! Seeing this they offered a peace treaty which we rejected, we desire more! We began our march down the country, fully nent on ocupying all of the mainland so we can demand they hand over the rich northern provinces and drive a wedge beween them and France!
http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/3253/warinitalyco5.jpg
(Note: When the screenshot was taken the Danish were also landing a few troops further down the Eastern Italian coastline!)
In April we decided to trade a couple of the captured Italian African missions (plus a load of cash) away to Sweden , to gain a much needed Naval tech. The missions are in territory disputed with the British anyway, and we don’t want to have to fight the British in Africa as well.
Into May and German troops marched into Rome! The Italians are now well and truly beaten, it’s just a case of capturing the rest of their country to achieve a high war score and force a harsh peace settlement on them and to weaken them.
July, August and September saw the French finally move the colonial war into West Africa. However this prove dto be in our favour as our troops finally began to achieve victories there and force the French troops on the retreat!
October that year saw an intresting turn of events in South Africa as ‘the Boer war’ broke out. We of course stayed neutral, merly pleased to see the British having difficulties.
November and we had acheved complete victory over Italy, their entire mainland plus Sicily under German and Danish control. We thus offered them a generous peace deal they could not possiably turn down, gaining us many of their Northern Provinces. Our goals against Italy have been achieved!
http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/8425/newitalianborderaq0.jpg
Before the year was out we again had problems with foreign smugglers attepting to bring weapons into the country, this time the Belgians trying to support Italian partisans. More hangings were carried out and German newspapers began clalling for a campaign against Belgium. However they have their independence guaranteed by the British, an enemy we have no wish to fight (yet!).
1900 – A new century!!
The first half of the year was dubbed ‘the African fightback!’ by German papers, as our troops forced back the French and captured their lands. They suffered eslewhere as parts of French Indo-China broke free to reform the state of Annam (note:they captured it back before the year was up). Finally on June 16th, with it apparent th French wer eno longer going to win in Africa, they agreed to a white peace. It has been a long conflict, but at least no German territory had been lost!
ComradeDavo May 15, 2008, 12:40 PM Part 7 – Expanding The Empire!
1901 started with the UK releasing Australia as their dominion.
The next few years in Germany saw us rapidly expanding our Industrial base, building factories and converting pop’s into craftsmen.
The August 10th, 1903 election results:
Socialists – 51%
Liberaldems – 28%
Freisinnige – 8%
Radicals – 7.5%
(all others 1% or less)
In June of 1905 Norway finally broke away from the nation of Sweden. The next month France once more entered into a colonial conflict in Africa with us. The war however was much different this time round, and by the end of the year German troops had achieved victory and gained more land.
http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/125/victoryinafricaak9.jpg
Whilst this had been happening, we had also begun to build up troops numbers in the Balkans and Romania along what we deemed ‘the Ottoman front’. With their 3 satellites there having 3 provinces each (maximum number of provinces a nation can have to annex them) it’s just too tempting to resist spreading the Socialist revolution there and freeing their working classes from capitalist oppression! Much talk in the German media was about freeing the rest of Europe from what the Kaiser called ‘oppression of the masses’. Exporting socialism by the barrel of the gun was something that German socialist policy makers were very keen on. Foreign sources however called this German imperialism and empire building. Certainly the Kaiser never rejected the term ‘The German Empire’ and it became the unofficial name for the country.
In 1906 with this troop build up continuing we also gave large sums of cash to the Swedes to ensure the completion of a tech deal gaining us some more naval techs. We still hadn’t begun any ship building, and it was something the Kaiser desired for the future.
1907
January – The UK releases New Zealand as a dominion.
March – We mobilise 202 divisons, which are deployed to the Ottoman borders in May, keeping 60 divisions in reseve should any other nations become involved.
June the 1st and war is declared upon the Ottoman Empire!
One month later and our troops had poured into the bordering provinces and the satellite nations we had our eyes on are annexed in the following order:
July 7th – Wallachia
July 16th – Serbia
July 22nd – Moldavia (gaining us oil producing Bacau!)
One major of the war and something foreign nations particuarly feared wa sour use of a new weapon named ‘Tanks’ for the first time, in supporting roles for some of our regular infranty units. Though the first tanks fieleded were crude they were used effectively and German military scientists stutied their performance and began to plan improved versions of the metal beasts.
http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/9840/a7v05ee8.jpg
By November and the Ottoman capital Constantinople and all areas west of it had been captured. The Turks accepted a peace that thus handed control of all occupied areas (bar the capital) over to us! The war had been a complete success, with all objectives achieved plus more! In fact several Greek politicians were said to have fainted upon learning they would now be sharing a border with Germany!
http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/9553/newottomanborderbc9.jpg
The following year’s election reults on May 10th were as follows:
Socialists – 40%
Liberaldems – 27%
Radicals – 17%
Freisinnige – 7.5%
NSDP – 2%
(all others 1% or less)
The election was notable for a rise in votes for liberal parties (generally amongst populations of non-German origin who desired more independence) and the creation of the Fascist NSDP, who followed a new ideology emerging in Europe of strong leadership and divisions along ethnic lines.
The next couple of years saw us start to industrialise this new land we had gained and build a decent railroad system in Africa. Additionally in 1910 the UK released yet another nation as a dominion, this time South Africa. Their grip on their empire was clearly loosening!
So, October 1910 and our most recent peace treaty with France is drawing to a close. 2 choices – either wait for them to declare yet another colonial war, or invade both them and their allies Italy and really establish our superiority. The choice is clear - invasion! Operation: Hammer was born! 218 German divisions are mobilised and on December 5th over 2 million troops sit along the French and Italian borders, with an additional 770,000 men kept in reserve should the UK or Russia intervene.
http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/408/imag0577gj6.jpg
German troops being inspected by their General
December 10th - We declare war on Italy! As expected their French allies come to their aid.
January 1911 and Germans generals report to the Kaiser that the war is going well. Whilst the French hold in places, the Italians are in full retreat. The German war machine is in full swing!
By March victory in Italy is merely a case of occupying remaining provinces, so some troops begin to march towards the French lines. Rome itself was occupied on the 15th, and then on the French front the 25th saw the familiar sight of German troops occupying Paris! This was seen as somewhat of a pastime for German soldiers now, a right of initiation as such!
http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/9122/imag0702vj3.jpg
German artillery moving forward in Italy
Come April and peace was arranged with the French, them being reduced to merely one province in North Africa (Tangiers) and handing over large chunks of their mainland to German control.
http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/3376/fenchpeaceofferho9.jpg
Then on May 23rd the war was ended as Italy surrendered, the whole of Northern Italy now under German control. The war had lasted a mere 5 months and we have achieved a huge victory! The Kaiser Davo went on a long victory tour of the captured provinces, congratulating the troops and preaching the socialist ideals to the ‘liberated’ populations.
http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/5627/newbordersvf5.jpg
In 1912 more cash was traded with Sweden for naval technology. Yet still we need much more to contrast a decent fleet! A massive project was also begun to upgrade our nation’s railroads to new modern standards.
February 9th 1913 elections:
Socialists – 41%
Liberaldems – 28%
Radicals – 15%
NSDP – 3.5%
Zentrumsprtei – 2%
Nationalists – 2%
(all others 1% or less)
The election year was marred by trouble in Poland as a Polish army unit rebelled in Tarnow, seeing some vicious street fighting as loyalist units moved in to eliminate the threat. Moving onto 1915, and once again cash was handed over to the Swede’s. Hopefully soon we would have acquired enough tech to build a decent navy, we have no interest in building monitors at the present time!
Finally in 1916 work was begun on the long talked about German Navy, with construction on some basic battleships being started.
http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/1663/fleetconstructioniu6.jpg
Soon after work was begun on the first German submarines as well.
After years of debate regarding our neighbours in Russia, it was finally decided to bring socialism to their workers by force! They are currently guaranteeing the Independence of Greece, another Capitalist stronghold, so we shall invade them as well and force the Russians to declare on us! On August 28th, 1916 we mobilised 246 divisions. By November 2nd they were fully deployed on the Russian borders (with a few assigned to Greece, they have a poor military and won’t require much). At dawn the following day an official declaration of war was handed to the Greek ambassador in Berlin, Russia coming to their aid within the hour. The plan as presented to the Kaiser by his generals is to knock Greece out of the war quickly (aka fight them to they offer us a decent peace deal) and to take as much land from the Russians as quickly as possible, so we don’t get bogged down and can achieve a good peace deal where we can gain the rest of Poland and chunks of Ukraine.
The most month of the war saw the Russians putting up fierce resistance in Kovel, though in most other areas they feel back. By December 19th Athens had been captured as the Greek forces were destroyed. They were totally unprepared for any invasion force, it was clear that their independence solely relies upon the protection of the ‘greater powers’.
Into 1917 and after man thousands of troops had been poured in by each side we achieved victory in Kovel. The Greeks offered us a decent peace which we accepted.
(note: it only cost us 1 prestige to declare on Greece and we gained 61 from the peace deal!)
http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/7845/newgreekbordersvz9.jpg
One area of Russia where we did face a lot of trouble was at Chisinau in the south, the Russians embedded in deep trench systems, where we had to bring in a lot of reinforcements to finally dig them out. This trench warfare was very much favoured for the defenders, attacking it cost us a lot of casualties!
In March, with troops advancing on all fronts, we captured St. Petersburg on the 27th, and in May/June we were pushing deep into Russian territory, Moscow falling on June the 14th.Despite the harsh Russian winters our troops had performed very well and Russian morale had been crushed!
June the 26th and we accepted the Russian peace offer. We had gained much land from this war, and many more workers freed from capitalist oppression by the Socialist machine!
http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/4254/newrussianbordersva3.jpg
The year ended with another Socialist election victory on November 10th.

With only a few years left of the game, it’s time to have a think what my goals should be before the game ends. I would like to increase my military score by building up a large navy, and I would like to gain some more land before the time is up. I am unsure who to attack though…France and Russia are obvious targets and perhaps Belguim (now a great power) should be taught a lesson! Industry wise I’m doing well, will convert a few more pop;s to craftsmen and expand a few factories but otherwise doing good!

BUT HUNGARY AND MONTENEGRO!
ComradeDavo May 15, 2008, 06:08 PM Next, Hungary and Montenegro.
Maybe, but there both 1 nation states and it's a 100 prestige hit for declaring on either of them, plus Montenegro is allied with Russia so i'd have to fight them again anyways. I think i'm gonna aim to take on someone a bit larger!

I would love to have a crack at fighting the British before the games up, will have to see how feasable that will be, they have a large empire and numerous dominions so i'll need to conduct some frantic naval building!

Indeed! But going up against the big guy in the end-game is great fun. I had a great game in EU2 as the Ottomans as I battled Russia in a massive war across eastern Europe in the 1800's, all the time thinking 'why didn't I do this sooner?'
Do you have HoI2? Any chance of a Captain2-style conversion to continue on?

Indeed, might see if I can aim to fight in Britain sometime 1930 to 1932ish, that would give me at least 3 years to win a war against them before the game ends!
I do have HoI2 with doomsday/armeggedon but i've never converted a game before, i'll have to look into it. I imagine I will try it for fun anyhows, and maybe do a brief write up saying what happened! But we shall see!

Hmmm I shall have to check that out. At current they are in an alliance with Portugal though, and I have no intrest in fighting them at the moment.

Converting a game is fun to say it myself, but be warned: All resources are at HoI 2 levels: Industry is converted. You could be producing 100% of the worlds coal as Sokotho and still only get 0,72 energy from that province. Also, unless you have a small army; converting will suck you dry of supplies. And the UK has FAR too many ships.

ComradeDavo May 21, 2008, 06:16 AM Part 8 – The Long Road To Victory!
1918 saw us trading yet again with the Swede’s (the only ones who will actually consider our offers!) and on July 12th there was much rejoicing amongst Germanys naval commanders as we finally out our first battleship to sea, the Weissenburg now in full service!
http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/868/radetzkymf4.jpg
By March of 1919 our high command had decided it was time once and for all to truly knock France ‘out of the game’ and destroy their already decayed status as a world power. As they were guaranteeing the independence of Belgium, who had also reached great power status, it was decided to finally invade them as well. We will have to leave the French holdings in Indo-China alone for the time being. On the 22nd 262 divisions were mobilised! World newspapers printed headlines such as ‘Will the German was machine never stop?’ and ‘Deutschland on the march again!’
May 18th and the troops stand ready, war being declared the following morning! The war was swift, we vastly outnumber their combined forces and victories were achieved everywhere. The Belgians managed to hold at Liege for awhile defeating our initial advance but fell to the reinforcements we sent in. By June both countries were making peace offers, however these were rejected as we clearly could achieve more. On July 10th our naval forces achieved their first victory, though really they were shooting ducks out of the water, as they destroyed Belgian troop transports fleeing after the province of Bruge had fallen. British ships were seen in the area monitoring the German forces, though they made no move to engage. French forces just collapsed in all areas, and by August we were simply dealing with Partisans. August 27th saw a peace treaty signed with Belgium that left them Brussels and nothing else, they had been truly crushed!
As we dealt with a few French partisans before negotiating for peace, there was surprising news in Italy as the country plunge into civil war! Having been in turmoil since their last defeat at our hands, September 14th saw the nation officially split into 2 factions, those supporting the government and ironically (given that they had originally been behind Italian unification!) members of the Two Scillies royal family reforming their old nation. France was obliged to intervene by alliances on the side of the loyalists.
The war between us and France officially ended on the 22nd of October as they agreed to our peace offer, They are now a mere shadow of their former self’s, no longer even sharing a border with Spain! We filled the captured provinces with troops to wipe out any nationalist rebellions.
http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/9699/francebelgiumbordersye0.jpg
On November 9th, despite our demobilised troops returning home, we decided to intervene in the Italian conflict, the Kaiser describing it as ‘too much of an opportunity to miss’. We did not take sides as such, no we just decided to invade this reformed Two Scillies and take land for ourselves and ‘liberate’ their population!
http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/8665/invadingitaliancivilwarri1.jpg
With their troops occupied fighting Italy, all we had to do was stroll in and establish our control! Soon after they agreed to a peace that left them crippled.
http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/4033/italyfz5.jpg
Italy took advantage of this to finish the war, though the Two Scillies were left with Napoli and a separate city state as compensation.
On September 8th Russia experienced a civil war of it’s own as rebels broke off in the isolated region around Sevastopol to create the state of Crimea. Despite having several allies join them, Russia does not have the capacity to take that land back and remains deadlocked in war.
http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/5961/crimeaxg2.jpg
In 1921 we decided to choose Slim Hull Form for our ships, to give them extra firepower when attacking. The fleet is being greatly expanded with many battlecruisers now in production. As usual, we have been trading with Sweden on a regular basis. The first battlecruiser to be put into full operation was the Prinz Adalbert, launched on the 7th June 1922.

In 1923 German generals began to meet in secret to discuss plans for a potential invasion of the British mainland, our main rival in the world and one that constantly poses a thread. The invasion plan would be as follows: to land troops in Ireland leaving for Bordeaux, troops n Scotland leaving from Kiel and troops on the southern coast leaving from Bruge and Dunkerque. This would require great secrecy and the mobilisation of troops would have be completed under the cover story of an invasion of France. Additionally it would be wise to land some troops in Egypt to fight the British their. The transports would be hard to explain though, thus a media blackout is now enforce don all German military ports. The operation still requires years of preparation to build a fleet capable of defeating the British Royal Navy and thus be able to reinforce German troops on the British Isles. Our aim for the peace deal would be to establish puppet states in Ireland and Scotland and maybe take some of the British land in Africa.
In May 1924 German explorers set out with state funding to find the North Pole! They returned many months later cold but successful!
In 1925 we finally started developing an air force. Whilst current it would be used as a support role for troops, we have grand visions for the future.

On May 25th the Kaiser and Germanys military high command convened in Berlin to discuss the planned invasion of the British Isles. It was now deemed achievable, the Navy strong enough to put enough troops onto the island to occupy it.
The following day 318 German divisions were mobilised.
By July they were ready to board the ships. By this time Great Britain had realised what was happening, and on July 28th we officially declared war! The 2 greatest powers in the world are now locked in combat! Naturally Britain summoned their empire to assist them.
The same day saw attacks launched against British forces in Latvia and Africa, and in their southern Russian territories. The ships were put to see, the invasion is a go!
The first week of the war saw us loose one naval engagement in the English Channel, and several battles taking place else where. During August the coast of Scotland became one big naval engagement as both sides poured over a 100 ships into the area! We were winning naval battles elsewhere though, and on the 16th 25 divisions were landed at Cork, the 17th 12 divisions landed n Egypt (later reinforced by 12 more), 19th 25 landed on Britain south eats coast and the 26th 25 divisions landed in Norfolk.
Our blockade of Gibraltar was proving useful as several British ship were sunk in the area.
We managed to land a further 35 divisions in south east England during the first week of September. On the 11th a small Canadian landing force was destroyed in Northern Germany (German naval forces busy fighting in Scottish waters and in St. Georges Channel). The rest of September saw German troops consolidate their positions and begin to advance in England and Ireland.
On October the 5th London fell to advancing German troops! The British government fled in shame to Canada. Our success was ensured on the 13th when the naval battle that had been raging off the coast of Scotland was finally won by superior German numbers and firepower, though we had sustained many casualties. The rest f the month saw us land 15 more divisions in Ireland and a massive 61 divisions in Scotland.
During November we suffered a defeat in St Georges Channel, German ships fleeing back to port. We accepted a British trade of tech and cash for a captured British trading post in Africa, and we rejected a British peace offer, preferring to continue and secure our own terms. The blockade of Gibraltar continued to go well and an moving into December, an attempted Canadian landing at Brugge was destroyed and most of mainland Britain was now in German hands.

On January the 5th 1928 German and British diplomats thrashed out a peace deal, the British being forced to concede defeat. We forced the creation of independent states for both Scotland and Ireland (under German guidance) and also claimed the county of Chester as a ‘German outpost’ to ‘protect against British imperialism’ in a humiliating peace offer they had no choice but to accept! In reality we forced them to give it to us so we can use it as a base if we ever fight them again!

Promises were also given to the new Irish high command that we would look into ‘acquiring’ them at least Cork if not the rest of Ireland in the future.
In March that year our friends in Sweden finally realised their dream of an African colony where they could holiday in the winter months and work on their tans as we traded them another captured trading post in exchange for more tech, now giving them enough control in the area to establish a proper colony!
On January 29th, 1929 the world shook as what became dubbed as ‘The Great Depression’ began with trouble on the New York stock exchange as stock values plummeted and businesses were ruined. The German government promised it’s careful handling of the economy would see us through these tough times.
Come May the 14th and it was decided to test a new tactic known as ‘Blitzkrieg’ upon our old enemies in France. We launched a ‘lightning war’ using regular army troops supported by planes and tanks, punching through French and Belgian lines. Belgium was annexed on June the 1st, and on July 26th France surrendered yet more territory to us! The new tactics had been a great success and we had finally eliminated Belgium as an independent state. In fairness French troops are weak and do not number many. The war was slightly marred by a major worker strike n late June, but we promised to help the workers and meet with their union officials and make concessions and the trouble subsided.

1929 also saw fascist ideas spreading amongst the populations of Europe. We will have to keep an eye on this for the future.
Into 1930 and it’s time once again to take on the might of Russia! They are fighting a campaign to expand their borders into Egypt, so using that as justification we mobilised 334 divisions and declared war upon them on August 18th! Attacks were launched on all fronts; we intend to force the Russians back everywhere! By September 7th the Russians were falling back everywhere except Minsk, where we faced tough resistance! Our Naval forces in the Baltic are performing well, after a couple of quick victories they moved to blockade St. Petersburg. On September 19th we landed 20,000 troops in Helsinki and the following month reinforced them with a further 10,000. On the 9th October victory was declared in Minsk, after over 65 German divisions had been involve din fighting there! In November we suffered a defeat on the southern front, though we swiftly reinforced the area. Moving into December and we finally moved in to occupy St. Petersburg after capturing all the surrounding areas. The Russians really collapsed after this, and we advanced everywhere, encountering some resistance in the South from troops returning from the Russians campaign in the Middle East.
1931 saw us advancing all the way to the Urals in the centre of the ‘Russian Front’ and on April 30th we accepted a Russian peace offer which once again greatly expanded our borders and gained us the strategically important cities of Kiev, Minsk and Kursk! Following the peace the Russians moved their capital to Moscow; we are now way to close to St. Petersburg for their liking!

1932’s February election saw the Socialists re-elected, though they were ran close by the Radical Anarcho-Liberal’s. The next month they decided it was finally time to give the people basic state funded pensions, healthcare and introduce some safety regulations. In August a Konservative politician who had been very vocal in his opposition to these measures was assassinated by a radical communist.
February 1933 and the ‘Great Depression’ was declared over as world economies had recovered and business was prospering again. The Socialists followed this up by introducing a basic state minimum wage and unemployment subsidies.
In 1934 we fought a very quick war with France, reducing them to owning only the city of Paris from which to administer their holdings in Indo-China, Africa and Madagascar. Many in the world began to wonder when France would fully become part of the German empire, after all a few million in Paris is nothing compared to the rest of country being German owned!
1935 was notable for ‘talking pictures’ coming to the German populations for the first time, and several national radio networks being established. The government also improved the standards of healthcare slightly.
And so as the year ends so does this tale of Germany!
Victory has been achieved, we are dominant world power, vast parts of Europe are in our hands and the French and Russians (our 2 main enemies) have been severely beaten whilst we have also taught the UK a lesson and established the new nations of Scotland and Ireland as our satellite states, to go along with the Danes who also serve us!

The German Empire at the end of 1935. We also have a couple of islands in the Caribbean which the French gave to us in a peace deal once, and a colony on the coast of East Africa.

Thanks:)
I was pleased I managed to capture Scotland and Ireland from the British, at the start of the game I had an idea that it might be cool to try but I didn't expect to actually be able to do so!:D
Captain2 May 21, 2008, 01:25 PM Well done, although I must admit that I suspect something has gone wrong, Scotland has gotten ahead of Canada :p

To be fair, the Scots only have that great power status because the Brits build a tonne of factories and up to date railroads there when they owned it!
D'Artagnan59 May 23, 2008, 05:15 AM So, will this be exported?
ComradeDavo May 23, 2008, 05:23 AM So, will this be exported?
Well, I have exported it across to see what it's like, but I probably won't play it through as an aar, there's no events once transferred which isn't as exiciting plus the export has put me as 100% islotionalist meaning no wars for ages!:crazyeye: And Inn Nominee is out in 5 days time so i'll be pre-occupied with that!:)
IronMan2055 May 23, 2008, 02:06 PM Just change the sliders, do you have vanilla HoI or do you have the expansion (or expansion + booster)
ComradeDavo May 23, 2008, 03:25 PM Just change the sliders, do you have vanilla HoI or do you have the expansion (or expansion + booster)
Have the doomsday/armargeddon expanisions. I'd still have to wait years in game time though to get the slider to a level where i could actually declare war (i'm not kidding, it actually is at 100% isloationaist, and the dove lobby is high as well), yet alone one which wouldn't give me a massive dissent hit, and as I said with Inn Nominee coming I won't have time anyhows!:crazyeye:
IronMan2055 May 24, 2008, 06:36 PM Press f12, then type freedom and press enter, now make any chamges you want to the sliders. :)

You can also trigger events manually that way. It's kinda neat if you want to throw a nation into civil war as you can write "event 1009 ger" for example and that event will happen to germany irregardless of what nation you are playing.
IronMan2055 May 25, 2008, 12:29 PM Event 1009 lowers dissent I think...
I checked it lowers dissent by 3.
