View Full Version : Rookie question. Corperation Creation?!
CarpeDiem May 05, 2008, 12:26 PM Hi i play civ alot but rarely go past medieval times...........I have a great engineer but how do i create mining inc...I've moved him to a city where gold is linked yet the option doesn't light up :( how do i get him to create his building
p.s can't find my manual :goodjob:
Supr49er May 05, 2008, 12:47 PM Have you discovered Railroads?
oranges May 05, 2008, 01:30 PM Refer to ingame civpedia for info on techs and great people needed for each corporation. You need corporation for all of them and for Mining inc also railroad.
Not sure what you mean by moving the engineer in a city linked with gold, but the corporation headquarters needn't be in the city with used resources in its BFC. Any resources within your territory (or traded with other civs) are fine. Normally, the HQ go to your wall street city to maximize the gold you get for each branch.
I_M_Weasel May 05, 2008, 02:35 PM And you can't do it under Mercantilism, although i think Bhurics patch fixes that.
nbcman May 05, 2008, 02:46 PM Corporation can be founded and a non-foreign corp can be spread in mercantilism. Corps have no effect in State property. Environmentalism +25% to the maintenance costs to corps and Free Market is -25% to maintenance.
joncnunn May 05, 2008, 06:32 PM Normally Wall Street is the best city to found your corporation in. While corporation itself is midevil, the other tech required for each of them is industrial to modern.
Willem May 05, 2008, 07:44 PM Corporation can be founded and a non-foreign corp can be spread in mercantilism.
Only if you're using Bhruic's patch. There's a bug in 3.13 that won't allow you to spread any corp under Mercantilism, even your own.
JujuLautre May 05, 2008, 09:37 PM Would you allow me to sum up all these? ;)
uou need:
- the tech corporations
- the tech railroads
- a great engineer
- present in a city which have access to one of the mining inc ressource
- not to be in state property
- if you did not install Bhruic's patch, not to be in mercantilism
MrCynical May 06, 2008, 04:26 AM - the tech corporations
- the tech railroads
- a great engineer
- present in a city which have access to one of the mining inc ressource
- not to be in state property
- if you did not install Bhruic's patch, not to be in mercantilism
And finally you musn't have already founded Creative constructions, Aluminium Co or Civ Jewellers in that city.

Thanks Willem :goodjob: I downloaded both patches at the same time so I didn't even know about that one.
alamo May 23, 2008, 09:19 PM The state property exclusion tripped me up. You'd think that would merit a mention in the pedia!
digitCruncher May 23, 2008, 10:11 PM One of State Properties effects is that Corporations have no effect... so it is mentioned, but not explicitly.
