A Goron unit from The Legend of Zelda

unit is game tested

previews:
http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa176/ruby_sauce/GRP2.gif
(run - default - fortify - attackB - attackA - victory - fortify - attackA - death)
NOTE: better speeds (IMO) in-game
http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa176/ruby_sauce/GRP1.gif

he doesn't really look like a goron, because I am not good at making models. I tried to work something out with props as his body and this was the best I could manage.

rolling as run animation, offcourse...

first attack (attackB) is him smashing his but against his enemy. its the attack from goron link from TLoZ, majora's mask. He is actually stepping, but it is hard to see... oh well

as always, edited sounds are there.

hmm, ENJOY!

get him HERE (http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=9370)

Maybe you could also make a Goro unit :D

I am glad you made this unit, but I am dissapointed at the model, not enough texture and he looks round and fet, a littlbe bit like homer.

Looks great!

I think he looks kinda like a Hylian dressed up as a Goron! (They probably would, too!:))

The only problem i can see with this unit is the fact that he is to shiny.... I always thought gorons were made from rocks, but he looks like gold... oh well I am just glad that you made a wonderful unit.

I know, but I have NO IDEA how to make the shine go away.

if I take out lights, the ground is to dark, and the unit looks even weirder

and O_o @ micaelus, because that was the pic that I was trying to recreate O_o

I know he doesn't really look like a goron, but I am really, really bad at making models...

and Vuldacon, I provided a unit_32 pic. is there something wrong with it?

U32'a have to have red civ colour. :)

What you do is reduce the hilight and pecularity and all that in the materials room. :)

And maybe give him a civcoloured belt and leave the arms brown? And perhaps elongate and thicken the arms too? I think what you have so far is almost perfect for a Goron but can easily be made one notch up with some simple little changes :D

To get rid of the shinyness, when you go into the materials room, either (a) set the specularity down real low (like near 0) or (b) change the specular color to black (essentially does the same thing, but looks better, IMO).

Besides setting the Specular Color to a very dark shade of the color you are using (or Black), a Texture map will help as well.

That's what I was thinking. He looks like a guy dressed up in a Goron suit. The civ-color looks kinda like sleeves. Not a bad unit. :)

I could do all that stuff, but I don't feel like rendering the whole thing again O_o

plus, I started a new unit.

ugh, I knew starting a unit that was too far away from a humanoid one was not a good idea >_<
