View Full Version : Need guidance

Hi people out there in general,

I'm relatively new to Civ IV. Here is my situation : I like civilization IV but I don't know what to pick from. I mean maps are ok...if done well...scenarios are nice but I just cant seem to find files, maps, scenarios or mods that just grip my attention :( Maybe there are too many to choose from...I don't know.

In general, here are my interests and I would appreciate some advice/guidance : I'm a modern war fan (WWII in particular, I don't care what ppl say the Wehrmacht had the highest impact per soldier ratio in the world) especially playing the Germans, I don't get laid much so I like things that give me a sense of increase power (it's a game I know...but that's all I have), I'm a 1st person shooter fan and my bf2 died on me (I had 1 of my friend install me the full version...long story short : I had to regive the original version then the game became unstable, bought 1 off ebay, it wouldn't install to due CD damage and I refuse to buy a new 1 for such a sloppy shooter) so...In other words, I have little gaming interest except for Civ IV.

I recently bought BtS but it acts problematic with me...I get bluescreens of death with it sometimes (I have written a support topic on it).

So, in general I need suggestions on things I might like.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried road to war, the WW2 scenario given with BTS?

Only problem with Road to War is all the leaders are either non important ones or its some guy you never heard of when in reality it was Mussolini and Franko and Hitler...

not ribbentop or whatever they have for Germany and that one guy they have for Italy is just wierd....

plus they don't have anything cept for the West Baltic East Baltic groups....

whatever happened to Axis Allies...

not West vs East Baltics???

anyway when I played Road to War I almost gave up on playing anymore scenarios that came with Civ4....

cept for Rhye's Rise and Fall....that rules...

you should install the add-on for road to war which can be found in these forums then; it re-integrates the names you're complaining about, like lots of other people :)
