...telling every city to start building a particular item or building?

It doesn't happen very often, but I'm playing a game at the moment where I have good production in every city, am isolated (due to me destroying two enemy civilizations) and am just about to get Code of Laws.

I want to tell every city to start building Courthouses without having to go into every single one. Usually I wouldn't do something like this, but this is one of those rare occasions where I want every city to have a Courthouse ASAP (without whipping).

I know there is a keyboard shortcut to do this, but I can't find out what it is...it's probably staring me in the face, mocking me, pointing and laughing gleefully as I weep into my Coco-Pops. :crazyeye:

The quickest way to do this (that I know of) is this:

1. open the city overview (F1)
2. select all cities (SHIFT+click)
3. click the courthouse button

Done. :)

You can find the list of shortcuts here (http://www.civfanatics.com/civ4/strategy/shortcuts.php).

Hold alt and click on a city to select all cities.

Hold control and click on a city to select all cities on a continent.

Then, queue up the production, or more commonly, set a way-point for new units to go to automatically.

Huge time savers...especially the latter.

down side is... after all, u may want to check all the city again to see anyone just not worth to build that courthouse. (takes too long or not the right time to build)

a nuclear bunker is the only thing i can think of to use this "all city attention pls" function..

Because of this thread I added an XML mod component that adds all the shortcuts to the civilopedia.
