I like space race because it allows you to build a nice empire that's not too large as long as you keep up a good tech rate. I also like the video when the spaceship reaches Alpha Centauri. It's also fun to declare war and cause havoc and chaos in the last turns right before your about to win.:scan::nuke:

Culture all the way, not sure if it's because of those beautiful cities or the fact that I have fewest of them ;) Space race is the default win, whenever I do not decide early on to go for something else, which is most of the time. Time I've never experienced and probably never will. I assume it requires some strange strategy of maintaining the lead and preventing anyone else from launching the space ship.

Domination - Conquest's a little too tiring.
But if I'm suppressed on military power, I'll go for a culture victory instead.

Culture - I just like the idea of being an extremely high culture, decadent civilization, and everyone loving me for it. Also, the capturing of everbody's surrounding cities through culture is fun as well

I voted for domination but I tend to play on continents normal size and speed and by the time I have total control of my continent, which is almost never enough land mass for domination, I find I know I am going to win anyway and its quicker to go space race than mobilise for a intercontinental war, so I usually end up spce race wins as I can't wait to start the next game.

Personally I can't be bothered with this cultural stuff, why build a missionary when you could build a tank instead.........

Conquest.
My empire is not so big, i like make colonies and vassalize instead of occupy.
it saving time for management, so games go faster :)

Space race. Assures that you've played through the whole technological spectrum.

Space Race. I'm very good at it, and it does't really require a lot of planning before the Modern age (except for researching as fast as possible of course) so I can just play the game without worrying about victory. I hate time victory; it's so lame. I edited CIV4VictoryInfo.xml to disable it.

I like Culture as well. Fun for the builders and balancing all the cultural needs with keeping a strong enough military to keep that witch Catherine off my back. (I don't care how cute she is, she's a pain!)

I also agree that Time victory is just lame. I always turn it off in the custom options.

Conquest is the most rewarding for me because it's the one I have the toughest time getting.

Conquest is the best. I either raze the rest of the world or vassalize them.

Any victory by the gun for me. Conquest is better but takes longer.

I said space because it's such a default. But if I could go for a military victory succesfully I would I just always tend to steamroll rifles with tanks while building casings.

conquest

i always disable domination for it.

takes a while but winning domination is usualy frustrating for me since im finally, after a long game's work, steamrolling along and enjoying it and midway you've just won. i wanna finish the job and kill off everything and everybody.

Culture. I love seeing my competitors' cities flip to me.

Conquest and domination are a lot more difficult in BTS because of the masses of units produced, and colonial expenses (at least until you get communism, and raze the UN before they force tree-hugging down your throat). Can you keep vassals and colonies and still claim a conquest victory?

I always shoot for either Conquest or Domination, but I keep on winning by Culture... Dang!

Conquest, Space Race & Diplomatic.

Conquest is just WAR…

Space Race is one of the easiest (i always end up on higher levels with a Space Victory)

Diplomatic, the most difficuly one.

I know, here I am trying to be the Pope, trying to be at peace with everyone, and I still can't get the Diplo.
Do I have to conquer the whole planet?

Conquest. I've never really achieved it, but I'd love to...:undecide:

Try it at Chieftain/Warlord... It's really easy if you start razing cities once you conquered 50% of the world too avoid domination.

Domination... the empire upon which the sun never sets. You can guess which leader I like to play as most. ;)

Conquest always. Domination is an easier conquest victory, as you still have to conquer other Civs to do it, why not go all the way? Time is the worst, by the time the game ends that is when i start to crush other Civs, so annoying if you forget to turn it off.

How on earth do you manage to get to time victory on noble and above? Some civ (more likely several) is bound to launch the spaceship by that time. On the other hand, if you've crippled them enough, you're bound to win domination or conquest before that.

I don't have space victory turned on, i do custom games most of the time and just have Diplo and conquest enabled.

You can do it on any difficulty by just taking vassals until everyone is your vassal. It's a snowball effect.

I'm not a warmonger, so I tend to often stay in peace as much as the AIs will allow me to. Since I play on low difficulty levels, that tends to be almost always. Therefore, I often end up running into Time, or getting Space Race.

Today, I got my first Diplomatic victory and I was incredibly disappointed at the lack of a movie. :( :( :( I won't be going for that victory again.

Space Race always seems to happen to me, but I aspire to a Conquest victory. I used to win by conquest in Civ 3 all the time...*sigh*...

Agreed. I think every victory condition should have a movie. Even if that movie is just Sid popping up and saying "You stayed alive and twiddled your thumbs long enough, congrats on your time victory. Now go forth and conquer!"

Diplomatic or Space Race, although I enjoy Domination also (takes too long, though). I like to try Conquest some day.

Usually domination by late industrial-early modern. I seldom get past infantry. I usually go about it by starting to conquer my continent in the early AD's while building mostly peacefully for all of the BC's unless a really sweet opportunity arises (enemies without metals or hills). As riflemen and railroads come along I upgrade hordes of CR3 macemen usually mopping up the first civ I've decided to pick on to grenadiers (and my trebs into cannons if the enemy is keeping up with me) and tear through the next civ in my way. Usually crashes my economy to 20%ish research for a dozen turns or so but once I rex up and fix dumb AI improvement choices and city placement I can keep steaming on, finish off the last enemies on my continent and then leave token garrisons everywhere while I send my entire army on a death plunge into the easiest target on the other continent, I just smack down everything taking no heed to losses and vassal them up, usually cinches the domination, but I move onto another if I need more land.

I go for domination, normally one by 1800s with riflemen and cannons on Monarch Pangeas. I am quite into combining slaughtering with culture games now. It seems that if you culture and defend at the start it makes the medieval early slaughtering easier as your culture pushes nicely right up to their cities.
