We're dumb!
Let's face it - we're about as smart as a Beverley Hillbillies fan club convention. And we really ought to do something about it.
If only someone could take charge of what the people are thinking and try to guide them towards something more worthwhile than what they are going to have to eat that night. On the spaceship two people excelled in exams of which the details and results are now lost. Sections of dot-to-dots and wordsearches were found in an old trunk but none of them were complete. Typical really. And people were talking about future technology at one point.

The brainboxes in question are germanos, who had a cabin filled with various books and CDs of all descriptions and spent many days deep in thought, and the duke o' york who seemed to spend most of his time in one or other of the spaceship's bars or jacuzzis and, perhaps coincidentally, sat behind germanos for the exams held. Both of the candidates seem to have similar manifestos and there would appear to be little to choose between them. So basically it's a decision as to who would look best in a white lab coat. Make your decisions people of NUF! Monarchy could be only four techs away!

No doubt the duke o' york and I will make a good team in any case.

Have to go back to the ship now and do some archaeology...;)

Well the ship is on the square to our right at the moment, under several hundred feet of water and we haven't researched the bathysphere yet so you'll need to hold your breath for a long time. ;)

Who are the idiots who keep voting for me? :crazyeye: :crazyeye:

As I said I would in my campaign thread, I voted for you but that doesn't cover all the other two. I suspect someone in particular who visited the forum at the same time as I and my number of votes coincidentally went up during that time but I shan't name and shame unless I'm actually voted in. Then the gloves will really come off.
I may have been at this site for quite a while but that doesn't mean I'm God of Civ! germanos will do a great job and I urge you all to vote for him. I'll make you research horseback riding if you don't....... :satan:

You're right, I'm an idiot ;-)
It's OK though, I voted for Mordehim for Domestic as well!

Seriously though, I looked at the pool, and didn't like to make a 4-0 lead, democracy is best served by close votes and dimpled chads....

who is the smartest of us all..

If the tie stays, I will happy to step down, since I will be away for ten days as of this tuesday. Not that there is much to arrange in this ten days I suppose, since both duke o' york and I have stated we should go for Monarchy first, and the first four choices for techs are thereby set.

If I do get elected, and no Florida-style recount is needed, I'll be more then happy to take up the resposiblities in a short forthnight from now.;)

Well if you're going away for a fortnight at the start of the term, then how about I take the first two weeks and you take the second two? This morning we have 12 votes each so it will probably be a draw and if we share the post for the first term then the unwashed plebs can decide who they thought did the best job for the next term's elections. You can also ease your way in to the game by seeing what I have done for the science department and then er, copying, no! doing something similar for the particular techs we have when you return from your holidays. Have a good time and don't forget your :cooool:!

Excelent idea duke :goodjob:

I think it is a very elegant solution to the tie.
I'll be back ;)

I think several positions may be swapped like this as people go on holiday. I wont be able to play the whole term as well, so as long as things don't change, Duke will have to take over.

Well, technically, we need to do another vote as a tie-breaker. I guess if enough people agree, we can let things stand as is.
