View Full Version : space race goes on forever!!
twocan7 May 14, 2008, 04:56 PM I am playing BTS and I built a spaceship that never lands! Every few turns it changes the estimated arrival time. Anyone know why this would happen? The game should have been over hundred years ago. I have decided to crush everyone else while I'm waiting.
I did happen to notice I have no retire option in the main menu. Maybe I won but the game kept going? confused.

I don't know how that could happen but it sounds to me like you should really increase the difficulty level if you want a challenge. :)
Bandobras Took May 14, 2008, 05:09 PM That's very odd; do you have a save from when you launched the spaceship?
twocan7 May 14, 2008, 07:07 PM Gliese 581,
When I move up levels I have trouble winning. It takes me a long time to play a game because of my family duties. I like to win even if it is too easy.
Bandobras,
I have saves but years after my ship took off. I'm not sure how to post my save. I've won by space race before and never had this problem.
TheMeInTeam May 15, 2008, 01:19 AM The only things I can imagine is that you disabled (accidentally or otherwise) space race victory or you won in some other fashion first, precluding the space win.
MrCynical May 15, 2008, 04:09 AM I've never heard of anything like that before. For any launched spaceship the flight time should be a constant. It'll either succeed or fail, depending on the number of casings, but it won't just be delayed.
dubrown May 15, 2008, 04:26 AM Sounds very strange. Though my bet is with TheMeInTeams suggestion that the victorycondition is disabled. You should be able to check that by looking in the infoscreen on victory conditions.
r_rolo1 May 15, 2008, 04:46 AM If SS win was disabled, he couldn't even build the SS parts IIRC.....
My bet is that you won ( or lost ) before that... but only with a save we may see what is happening
twocan7 May 15, 2008, 03:41 PM you all are thinking the same as me. A weird bug or I already won. If I won you would think it would say that somewhere. I guess I'll dismiss this as a weird bug. I'm going to play it out to the end of time and see what happens. I'll let you know if I figure anything out.
The space race option is turned on. When I get home I'll attach the file and let you see it.
SnowlyWhite May 15, 2008, 08:37 PM you won already
twocan7 May 16, 2008, 06:32 PM here is my save
VoiceOfUnreason May 16, 2008, 07:55 PM Fascinating; not only did you launch your own spaceship, you also launched Asoka's
I'd suggest filing a bug, and attaching the save.
twocan7 May 16, 2008, 10:02 PM yeah I noticed that too. I was leaning toward a bug but wanted other peoples input. BUG IT IS :)
