Recently reinstalled Fall from heaven 2,but the user interface bar at the bottom of the screen fails to display, i've tried cntrl + i to no avail


i am sure this has been answered before but searching hasn't turned up any results.

I uninstalled and then reinstalled the game. I downloaded the 1.61 patch. Then I downloaded and ran the FFHII 0.23c for vanilla Civ IV. This time, when Vista prompted me that the installation might not have been good, I let Vista reinstall the program. Voila, I have user interface graphics again. I hope something there helps you.

Now, I'm just wondering if I still need the modpack that goes with 0.23c

I do have the same problem with the BTS Scenario in 3.13 and 3.17. Is there any solution for this?

I take it you guys are using Vista?

I find that I need to start the game as an administrator - apparently there's a file called aoi.txt that you can't read (or is it write to) unless your game is running with those rights. Vista's enhanced security model defeats Mulcarn quite easily.

If I right-click the executable file and select "run as adminstrator" I get an interface.

You are probably getting an error in the maininterface. You will need to have python debugging enabled to see what the error is. If you can find out what that is I can check it out.

I_Pity_the_fool was right, I had to launch the game as admin and it worked. I had it like this in 3.13 but with the arrival of 3.17 it changed (because the exe was modified I think) back to having no read/write rights.
