View Full Version : Your green city numbers...

I know the human player always gets some ugly shade of green for his own city size numbers instead of the default colors for the civ... but WHY IS THAT? So you don't forget your own cities?

Every civ has it's own custom colors anyways, so why is it that every civ you play, no matter who it is, your city size numbers are always ugly-green instead of the color of the civ?

Is there a way to over-ride this so that all the human controlled city size numbers display in the default color instead of lime-green? Hopefully this is a simple XML change, but I don't know where to look or what to do on this.

Anybody know how to change this? I'm sick of green city numbers!

see sample below... if Poland was AI-controlled, the number would be red and white, not green and black

As far as I can determine, Firaxis kept a single color schema to depict cities which have a surplus foodbox, or those which are starving. Try it out from the globe view. Cities which are starving or aren't growing anymore have a different color.

Guess they didn't want to do that for the full range of civcolors so they settled on a single 3-color schema to depict this.

Oh yeah... the growth thing... I do my best in all my games to keep all my cities growing, so I guess I forgot about that (which would explain why all my cities are always green). Still, I really don't care about that... I've never once gone "huh, that city isn't green, I better work on it"... I know that's the purpose, but I'd be just as happy to see the default colors... oh well...
