View Full Version : Who's pre-orderd Civ Rev remake20 May 17, 2008, 04:12 PM Who's pre-orderd Civ Rev?:) In case your wondering I have pre-orderd the 360 version. Thrallia May 19, 2008, 12:18 AM not preordering...no need, I work at the place I'm gonna buy it at :) GeoffgoB May 19, 2008, 05:07 AM me, from play.com col May 19, 2008, 05:12 AM Me from Amazon.co.uk CharlieM May 19, 2008, 09:42 AM Pre-ordering baffles me. Why not just walk into a Game Crazy, Game Stop, Target, Best Buy, etc. on release day, and buy the game? DS_Legionary May 19, 2008, 10:04 AM Because I am lazy and dislike stores of any type. It's easier to just have it delivered to my front door. I did not pre-order CivRev. I was going to but it came down to either CivRev or Metal Gear Solid 4. Seeing as how MGS4 was one of the big reasons I got a PS3 it won out. Though hopefully I'll have enough spare change to pick up CivRev soon after it comes out. CharlieM May 19, 2008, 10:25 AM Because I am lazy and dislike stores of any type. It's easier to just have it delivered to my front door. How do you eat? Clothe yourself? Engage in personal hygiene? DS_Legionary May 19, 2008, 01:04 PM I go to the store only to buy groceries (to eat) and on occassion to peruse the fine females. Though when you pick up women at a grocery store they tend to have alot of baggage (like kids) so I go like once a month when absolutely necessary. I get my toothpaste, shampoo, soap, deaordorant and all other essential personal hygiene products when I go for food. Far as clothes and everything else is concerned it's generally more economical (with gas prices as they are) and more convenient to buy online. Almost all the clothes I wear have to be bought from Big and Tall (I'm a freaking giant man) so I just do the majority of all other shopping online. It's just easier and I don't have to put up with screaming babies and snotty little kids. On a side note you can buy groceries online now, but it is pretty expensive to do if you ask me. Sard May 19, 2008, 01:18 PM Because I am lazy and dislike stores of any type. It's easier to just have it delivered to my front door. I pre-ordered it from Amazon for this very reason. Anything I can have delivered to my door with ease, I prefer :) GeoffgoB May 20, 2008, 04:59 AM pre-order = free delivery and £5 off dojoboy May 23, 2008, 07:22 AM No pre-order here. I fully expect being able to walk in and purchase a copy when I want. And, if I have to, I'll take out any 10 y/o in my way. :yup: [KC]Bantams May 23, 2008, 07:51 AM i pre ordered it from play.com too and got £10 off just found out the release dates been put as june the 13th now wow who would have thought of releasing it on Friday The 13th just hope its not a Bad day! JavalTigar May 23, 2008, 07:42 PM hell yeah baby!! did it today for the DS. Ace of Gold May 24, 2008, 12:08 AM i reserved a DS copy at gamestop Thrallia May 24, 2008, 03:35 AM Pre-ordering baffles me. Why not just walk into a Game Crazy, Game Stop, Target, Best Buy, etc. on release day, and buy the game? Because no one goes to Target or Walmart to buy games if they can help it, Game Crazy and Game Stop sometimes either don't get copies of a game past the number of preorders(or pretend they didn't in order to get you to preorder it the next time), and because it a game is big enough, unless you preorder it you'll be hard-pressed to find a copy of it anywhere(Smash Brothers, Mario Kart, Halo, GTA4 are some recent examples) I'm not preordering because I work at the store I'll be buying it at(although if we don't get it on time, as sometimes happens, I'll have to scout out my nearest Best Buy...) Padma May 24, 2008, 10:30 AM I haven't pre-ordered, but ... remember, Dennis? ;) Lachlan May 25, 2008, 10:26 AM Why preorderintg ? :) bob_x May 25, 2008, 10:42 AM I'll go out and buy a DS copy as soon as I find out it's worthy of being purchased. But I'm expecting a buggy game that you won't be able to patch. dojoboy May 25, 2008, 11:42 AM I'll go out and buy a DS copy as soon as I find out it's worthy of being purchased. But I'm expecting a buggy game that you won't be able to patch. I'm somewhat worried about this as well for the DS version. I know little about XB360s and PS3s, but I'd think Firaxis could patch them on the HD. ??? CustodianV131 May 26, 2008, 03:14 AM DS copy preordered. Since I work and have to make a major detour to visit a gamestore walking in on the day of release isn't an option for me, since they also often don't have the game on day of release or its sold out when I do manage to drop by. Got tired of that long ago and its generally cheaper to order it online and have it delivered on day of release or sometimes even a day earlier. So far only had two titles that were late. One two days and one a full week (that was painful :) ) Would also have gone for the Wii, but :( Hopefully it sell well and they'll do a Wii version. :goodjob: XxtraLarGe May 28, 2008, 01:55 PM I'm pre-ordering from Amazon this Friday. Let the good times roll! small lawe Jun 01, 2008, 08:01 AM I'm pre-ordering from amazon free delivery and £10 off! remake20 Jun 01, 2008, 03:34 PM I'm pre-ordering from amazon free delivery and £10 off! Ah c'mon why does Europe get it 1 month early.:( Shabbaman Jun 02, 2008, 02:35 AM I'll go out and buy a DS copy as soon as I find out it's worthy of being purchased. But I'm expecting a buggy game that you won't be able to patch. My thoughts exactly. Now if they'd release a civ-version that wouldn't require patching, that would be a revolution. I can't see how DS games could be patched, so I'm not sure if this game (the DS version, that is) is going to be worth it's money. I would pre-order it if it could be patched. Warrior of Wales Jun 02, 2008, 06:40 AM I have pre-ordered at Play.com, saving £5 with free delivery but havibg just checked the site I see that they are saying that it will be despatched on 29th August. Amazon UK are saying the same. I was hoping to be sunbathing on a sunny beach in Menorca and civilising at the the same time on my DS, but it looks as if my plans have been scuppered., which is a bit of a bu**er. Unless they are playing it safe and not getting our hopes up. col Jun 03, 2008, 01:25 AM Amazon Uk have just put back the delivery date to "Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution (Nintendo DS)" [Video Game] Estimated arrival date: 04/09/08 - 11/09/08 GeoffgoB Jun 03, 2008, 05:25 AM GAME have it for the same price as PLAY £24.99 + free delivery and still have a June Delivery date, but then they were the last site to put the pre-order up so I'm expecting them to change  remake20 Jun 03, 2008, 07:59 AM How come every one posting in this is in Europe? Thrallia Jun 03, 2008, 11:47 AM *shrug* because Europe gets the game next week(except for the DS version) |
