This might be a newbie question but I can't recall when I've seen this before. Check out the tile between Washington and New York that I've put a marker on.

Looks like a regular old forested grassland hill to me. What accounts for the yield (2 :food: 2 :hammers: 1 :commerce:) in this tile?

Johnny Appleseed event? Or whatever it is called?

Thats what it looks like offhand but I'm not positive.

Edit: Naah it is probably truffles. I forgot about that one.

Yeah, it's caused by an awesome event.

Oh, cool, hope Lincoln enjoyed it while he lasted. Can I improve the tile?

Yes, it's the base terrain that has improved, not the forest.

If you wanna know what happened consult the autolog  ;)

There was nothing in the autolog, hence the mystery!

The message about random events happening to other civs is quite unspecific and hence easily missed - something like "American have tasty truffles" (Not remember the exact text). Also if it happened before you met Lincoln you would not have been notified at all, and nothing would be in the Autolog.

Is this autolog saved somewhere in a .txt file or something?
When I check the ingame log, I can only see the last hundred years in the log. It doesn't trace all the way back to 4000 BC.

You should be able to scroll back up to the beginning.

AFAIK there is no separate log file - it's stored in the savegame, so it seems. Might be different if you use BUG mod, as it has a exteded Log feature.

I use BUG too, I think all of us in the Monarchists' game use it.

I don't always rename my log file at the start of a new game. So what I think happens is that when the log gets really long, with a bunch of games piled on top of one another, it starts truncating the log entries and some stuff gets left out.

By the way Solon, I have an issue with my Autolog, I have explained it in my last report in the MC game, might you know what is wrong? Sorry for offtopicing :mischief:

I'm really not sure. It worked fine for me, although the in-game event log is apparently bugged for the duration of this game, as Bleys pointed out a few pages back. I followed his instructions (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=6828274&postcount=571) to start the round (change the name under "Your Details", make a new save file, exit to main menu and load the new save file) which gave me a new auto-log file at least.

Truffles is a great event. The last game I played I got truffles in my Capital city, on the city tile. Automatic +1 food and commerce that I'm always using!
