So, I'm playing civ4 without either of the expansions. I was hoping people could post up on what map size/type/number of opponents they're playing with on immortal difficulty.

I only played Vanilla for about 2 months before getting BTS, and I didnt play Immortal, but I was competing solidly in Emperor level games before that.

One map setting I liked was Custom Continents, 3, add 1 AI (for a total of 7 AI + 1 human). This usually set up a situation with you and 2 AIs on a landmass, then once you took control of that smaller area, there were other AIs that you could work on intercontinental warring with. It was a pretty fun set up, since the map generator almost always split it up 3-3-2, so the other continents had there own wars and such, and you had yours.
