Has traps been discussed before? If so what was the conclution?

Anyway traps are major part of any fantasy fictions, so could they be included?

What they could be:
zero-movement invisible units which can be made by thieves (or other special units). They could have an effect when killed (aka pyro-zombies).
When a trap is killed they could trigger a spell (fear, enervation, explotions, ...)
or a trap could have a basic strength and simply do damage?

Detecting them would be nice anyway cuz then you can simply move around them, but it would have been fun if some scout units could 'disarm' traps. Disarm could be made a spell which "kills" all traps around caster.

I think traps were implemented in Age of Ice, shame they weren't implemented in FFH II.

That's kind of a cool idea. I'd picture them as being a CoE unit, though it might make sense for FoL to have them, too.

One of the heroes in AoI was able to build traps. But I honestly dont think they are that useful in the epic game. For the type of action you are looking for I would check out Lutefisks Dungeon Adventure (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=267995)

Maybe you are correct that spaming the area with traps would not feel right for a epic civilization game.

On the other hand all back since CiV I, I have allways wanted to see the AI
send its transport with 8 units inside into my submarine and see it go byebye.
It has never happened ofcourse (ARG!!!!)
