So im on my third game of FFH2 and this time around I decided to play as the Sheaim. All I can really say about them is that they kick ass. From the planar gates spawning random powerful units to cranking up the AC to cause problems for other CIVs I just love it. The only down side to playing them is that other CIVs are fairly prone to declaring war me. Actually last night the 2nd and 3rd most powerful civs after my own decided to declare war on me at the same time. Im fairly certain I can beat them both back but I dont like fighting a war on two fronts... is there anything I can do that might give me a quick military edge against these two foes?

Yes, the Sheiam are awesome. You could use your world spell. I've never used it (never had a good reason), but it should slow them down significantly, depending on how high the AC is. You could also try to bring about Blight, depending on where the AC is, but that will hurt you as well.

Also, Pyre Zombies would be helpful, especially against stacks, and would help you without having to resort to the above.

Roll out the Pyre Zombies early (especially enjoyable if you can get one or more killed in a forest near anyone but Clan), get Adepts with Death mana going so you can throw skeletons at everyone, and make sure to get yourself some tar demons out of those gates fairly quickly, if you can.

I am playing a game right now as the Sheaim with the Hallowed Ground setting (no armageddon counter). Let's just say it is interesting...

that's just begging for an all-out death mana summon fest. The death mana affinity combined with the summoner trait makes specters and wraiths nearly unstoppable in Sheiam hands.

You know, I thought the same thing, but on a super huge map with 19 civs (15 now as the barbs killed off 4 early on) I was swarmed with barbs. I had my left flank covered by the sea, my southern flank protected by the Sidar but had Charadon and Sheelba to my north and 2 destroyed civs to my East. Even though I am in the points lead, I have wave after wave after wave of barbs on me. So many that even 99.9% odds battles get lost often enough causing me to loose my most experienced troops often.

I have to say it is the most fun game I have had so far.

Sheam + Death Mana + The Nexus == pure win.

Send a ship with a few summoners to another continent. They stay on the boat, sending spectres (and optionally fireballs) in until they capture a city. Then gate in a summoning unit from each of your cities, have them all summon and suddenly you have a massive force on the frontlines.

Sheiam + Death Mana + Eaters + Nexus eat a large or Huge map in a few turns. Just remember to put some Fire and Air into the mix (Metamagic and returning those nodes to Death helps for sure) for passing Mountains / Bombard and you are set. Destroying them with the lifeforce and nightmares of their own people. Really evil like Sheaim should be :devil::devil:.

But that fits their flavor exeptionally well. Their Patron is the Archangel of the Dimensional Sphere after all and they had Dimensional Mana (requirement for Nexus) pre 0.30. :)

@ Madhatter: Should have played them at 0.30. Then they could get Death 2 at Necromancy (Movement 4 Immortals at Tier 1  (Spectres with 3 Death nodes and Adepts promoted to Combat 5 Extension 2)). Good thing free Magic Spheres are tied to Unit-Tier now. Skelletons are hefty enough for the Time you get Adepts.
