Okay, not exactly a fair map by any means, but it was a heck of a lot of fun to play as Isabella of Spain. When I played this map, I edited Spain to give them the Rathaus UB and the Fast Worker UU and got rid of their regular UU and UB, and I replaced Isabella's traits with Industrious and Organized.

You will encounter 9 rivals but they're pretty far away so you won't have to worry much about military at the very beginning, unless you have barbarians on (which I did not). Protecting your empire should eventually become fairly easy as there are only a small handful of choke-points you really need to get to in order to live in true isolation, and they're not too far away from your starting location. Don't worry about naval attacks until later in the game as there is no way for the other civs to enter your land by water until they can travel in ocean plots...

So expand, expand, expand...build, build, build!!!

Warning as it may crash on slower systems as the map is quite big. I noticed slowed game-play later in the game and also had a few memory allocation errors along the way...so save, save, save!!

Here are a few screen shots. The screen shots say "Modern Era" even though it's 4000 BC because I went into Worldbuilder and gave myself all techs so that all resources would be visible for the screen shots.

Spain's starting location - Settler located on the square with the Stone resource

Enemy starting locations - resources given to each enemy should be the same, and they should each have all resources except a few strategic resources.

Hehehe, nice map only I would prefer to play as a different civ (I really don't like Spain very much)

I think you can edit that using Notepad, but I've never done it so I'm not quite sure how...
