it's a glitch.

it's a random event but for some reason the pop-up window isn't popping up, just wait it out (10-20 turns)

This event should be named "Stealth Snow" :D

Thinking about it, it's probably this:

One civ gets bear constellation event, that predicts long and cold winter.
The event is actually a global event, effects all civs, but if it happens to a civ you have no contact with, you don't get pop up.

I had my units healed when another civ got Sucellus constellation. It does make sense for constellations to be global events.

I had the same problem with a square turning into a desert. It turned back a few turns later, but definitely confused me.

Ahh.... well I didn't get the event like you say... the popup should be universal if ANOTHER civ got the event. It makes a lot of sense that this would be a universal event though. Just wish I was informed :)

Well, being constellations, it both does and doesn't make sense for them to be universal. In a spherical world, there are constellations which you can see in the Northern Hemisphere which are never visible in the southern (and vice-versa), and the constellations which will be dominant at any point will depend on your lattitude and elevation. Though I have never studied Astrology, so I don't know if they have to actually be visible to be dominant, or just meet some specific criteria for alignments.

In a flat world however, everyone would see the exact same constellations and alignments thereof (Except some looney sitting on the edge peering over). So in that case they ought to be global announcements.

Xienwolf, it also depends on rotation of the world though.

Erebus is flat (however that might work), isn't it?

The lanun have proven on countless occasions in my games, that world is in fact Round :).

But they haven't proven the world in spherical. If the world is a cylinder then the nighttime constellations would be the same.

Erebus is supposed to be flat, according to the lore.

I think itīs a mistake of the lanun, because the world is flat. There are just a lot of teleporters at the edge, to teleport the water to the other side, before it leaks out and the world runs dry.

While we are at it: That really whould be a reason to change the wording of that feature / bonus to:

"You have (Or Xyz has) proven that the world is flat!" upon connecting the Map View horizontaly for the FFH 2 Mod. (and add the feature to flat maps + removing it from wrapping ones as well if the code allows.)
