Hello, I was wondering if someone could assist me with my predicament. A friend gave me the game Civ 4 disks a week ago and I installed the game and played single player for hours on end. Today I decided I would try muliplayer. I clicked on the internet, made an account, got into a room where I saw online games and people chatting, and then I downloaded a patch, but after I downloaded and exited the game for it to install messages saying that I should "reinstall it" or "previous programs [civ4] not found" popped up. When I tried to uninstall it to reinstall it I found that there was no uninstall option in the Firaxis Game folder in my start menu, so I decided to go to add or remove programs and get rid of it there and it didn't seem to exist. I wanted to blame Vista like I always do. But the same problem happened on my xp computer except after trying to download the patch on this computer it wouldn't even let me go into the game at all to play single player or anything after that and although I found the program in add or remove programs, although an error message kept popping up saying that I couldn't remove the program. I'm quite frustrated and I would like to play online, so if anyone could help me I'd appreciate it a lot. Or if you can redirect me to people that can help me I'd appreciate that too. If you give me advise it'd be neat if you could dumb it down and keep it from being too technical because I'm not the most computer savy. I am a noob. I'd appreciate it a lot. Thanks.
