I think these wonders need/deserve a movie too:

1. New wonder models
2. Underground Tomb
3. Corporation movies if possible
4. Religious shrine movies in stead of just a picture
5. ???

Here's a small tutorial how to add movies to a mod:
1. Put the movies in your mod-folder assets\art\wonders\movies
2. Edit CIV4ArtDefines_Movie.xml (in xml\art) and add an entry for each movie you want to use like this:

<MovieArtInfo>
<Type>ART_DEF_MOVIE_WESTERKERK</Type>
<Path>Art/Movies/Wonders/Westerkerk.bik</Path>
<KFM>None</KFM>
</MovieArtInfo>
3. Edit CIV4BuildingClassInfos.xml (in xml\buildings) and add an entry for each wonder you want to use like this:
<BuildingClassInfo>
<Type>BUILDINGCLASS_WESTERKERK</Type>
<Description>TXT_KEY_BUILDING_WESTERKERK</Description>
<iMaxGlobalInstances>1</iMaxGlobalInstances>
<iMaxTeamInstances>-1</iMaxTeamInstances>
<iMaxPlayerInstances>-1</iMaxPlayerInstances>
<iExtraPlayerInstances>0</iExtraPlayerInstances>
<bNoLimit>0</bNoLimit>
<bMonument>0</bMonument>
<DefaultBuilding>BUILDING_WESTERKERK</DefaultBuilding>
<VictoryThresholds/>
</BuildingClassInfo>
4. Edit CIV4BuildingInfos.xml (in xml\buildings) and add an entry for each wonder you want to use. Point the movietag to the movie like this:
<MovieDefineTag>ART_DEF_MOVIE_WESTERKERK</MovieDefineTag>
5. Add text tags in some text-xml ie. Civ4GameText.xml (in xml\text) like this:
<TEXT>
<Tag>TXT_KEY_BUILDING_WESTERKERK</Tag>
<English>Westerkerk</English>
</TEXT>
<TEXT>
<Tag>TXT_KEY_BUILDING_WESTERKERK_PEDIA</Tag>
<English>. .. .. .. .. .The Westerkerk ("western church") is a Protestant church in Amsterdam, built in 1620-1631 after a design by Hendrick de Keyser. The church is right next to Amsterdam's Jordaan district, at the bank of the Prinsengracht canal.
The spire is the highest church tower in Amsterdam, at 85 meters (279 feet). The crown topping the spire is the Imperial Crown of Austria of Maximilian I. The church bells were made by the brothers Hemony.
Rembrandt van Rijn was buried in the Westerkerk on October 8, 1669. The exact location of the grave is unknown, but presumed to be somewhere along the northern wall. Rembrandt's lover Hendrickje Stoffels is also buried here, and his son Titus van Rijn may also be. Other painters buried in the Westerkerk are Nicolaes Berchem, Gillis d'Hondecoeter, Melchior d'Hondecoeter and Govert Flinck. The church organ is decorated with doors painted by Gerard de Lairesse.
The Westerkerk is located close to the Achterhuis (now Anne Frank House) where diarist Anne Frank, her family and others hid from Nazi persecution for two years during World War II. The Westerkerk is mentioned frequently in her diary - its clock tower could be seen from the attic of the Achterhuis and Anne Frank described the chiming of the clock as a source of comfort. A memorial statue of Frank is located outside the church. - WIKI</English>

6.To display national wondermovies I suggest reading the thread. It's explained there. Python is involved there.

That's it. Good luck and enjoy the movies.

Okay... what did I do wrong? I've got the building info pointing to the right movie tag-line (I know, because I can successfully get a static DDS file to show a picture), then I use the following code for Arian's movie files:

<MovieArtInfo>
<Type>ART_DEF_MOVIE_BRANDENBURG_GATE</Type>
<Path>Art/Movies/Wonders/Brandenburg.bik</Path>
</MovieArtInfo>
<MovieArtInfo>
<Type>ART_DEF_MOVIE_TRAFALGAR_SQUARE</Type>
<Path>Art/Movies/Wonders/TrafalgarSquare.bik</Path>
</MovieArtInfo>

So, I think I have my code right, but in-game, when you construct the wonder, all I get is a blank blue screen where the picture/movie should be (with an okay button). The game is stable and all, it's just a blank screen like there is no movie or picture. Am I using the BIK file correctly or not? Is there something wrong with the BIK file or my XML code? What do I need to do?

I can easily get a static DDS picture to show-up in game if I replace the path with the DDS path, but I can't get the movie to play when I point the path to the BIK file (and yes, the path is right... the files are all in the same folder).

Arian
Jun 05, 2008, 04:40 PM
@Wolfshanze

The movies work fine for me. I use Graves History in the Making mod and no problem. Also no problem with low quality graphics setting. I assume you can play and see the movies.

This might be a silly question cause I'm sure you're a good modder but did you point to the movie-file in the buildinginfo-xml??

My code in CIV4ArtDefines_Movie.xml:

<MovieArtInfo>
<Type>ART_DEF_MOVIE_TRAFALGAR_SQUARE</Type>
<Path>Art/Movies/Wonders/TrafalgarSquare.bik</Path>
<KFM>None</KFM>
</MovieArtInfo>

This is the code in CIV4BuildingInfos.xml:

<MovieDefineTag>ART_DEF_MOVIE_TRAFALGAR_SQUARE</MovieDefineTag>

I'll try your mod to see what happens...

Anybody else got this problem??

I've never had any problems with MegaUpload so I intend to stick with them. It took me quite some to upload the files and I'm not gonna do it all over again on another host. Sorry...

No dice... the XML is up-tight, I'm sure... Both in BuildingInfos.xml and in Defines_Movie.xml... yet, this is all I get:

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k3/Wolfshanze/Games/Trafalgar.jpg

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k3/Wolfshanze/Games/Branden.jpg

A blank screen... if I change the path back to one of the DDS files in the same directory, I get the right screen, but the BIK files just don't work. At least not for me... this sucks.

Okay... nevermind... I solved the problem, but it was weird...

They didn't like being FPK'd in with the rest of the art... they worked fine if they were in a seperate folder, but if I FPK'd them, they didn't work.

I have them working fine now though, so thanks!

Megaupload really sucks. it has bandwith limits for different countries. And for poland the info about waiting for the limit apeears all the time. Besides you needs to wait for dl link on megaupload.

Mediafire is very good. please use it in the future

BTW For people, like me or hrochland with the same problem, check this hack: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3843 plugin for firefox.
With this plugin i was able to download movies.

I didn't have problems per-say, but it is really annoying (the forced wait time, typing in of codes, and limited servers)

You might want to give Filefront (http://www.filefront.com/) a try... it's free, has unlimited upload space and doesn't force people to wait to download something.

My experience with FileFront is that at some point, your file will just magically disappear into the ether. I've never had ths problem with AtomicGamer, although I'm not wild about the wait times...

My experience with FileFront is that at some point, your file will just magically disappear into the ether.
Filefront routinely deletes files that aren't being used... they send you a notification via e-mail if any of your files are being scheduled for deletion (which you simply tell them not to do).

If you don't give file-front your proper e-mail address, or you don't follow up on your e-mails... then yes, they'll disappear... that seems to be the case with you.

I've never once had a file disappear from file front in the long time I've used them.

OK folks

I managed to upload a package of my first 17 movies to FileFront.

Get it here:

Alamo, Brandenburg, Burj Al-Arab, CN Tower, Golgotha, Grijalva
Kharbas, Machu Picchu, Oktoberfest, Palacio Da Pena,
Leaning Tower of Pisa, Trafalgar Square, Wembley Stadium

I'll put the link in the first post. Might be handy.

I put together 2 packs that I had made in the WoC. Some of the work was trimmed down from some people's work before. I did many myself anyway so when you see what is in the pack the movies are not the same as the ones made before and used by many mods. I tried to stay small with them as to take as little space as possible.

Movie Pak 1
Alhambra
Arc De Triomphe
Leonardo's Workshop
Bach Cathedral
The Blue Mosque
Cure for Cancer
Copernicus Observatory
Crusades
Theory of Evolution
Flavian Amphitheater

http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=9650

Movie Pak 2
Art of War
The Gateway Arch
Hungarian Parliament
Longevity
Magellan's Voyage
Leaning Tower of Pisa
Plato's Academy
SETI
Terra Cotta Army
Woman's Universal Suffrage
World Trade Center

http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=9651

Anyway I thought put them here to be found in one thread.

Arian
Jun 06, 2008, 02:10 PM
Very nice, Johny.
Some of them I've seen before. The Terracotta-movie is very nice but it's a shame it's so small :(

Johny said:

This is very true! In case of movies: "The bigger the better (looking)". I like quality over size but it sure is a consideration.

I suppose the modmakers could add a separate moviepack to their mods to keep their mods small. The movies could be an "add-on" to their mod.
AFAIK if you define a movie (in the art/buildinginfo.xml) and it isn't there, the movie won't show (that's trivial) and game only displays a message that a wonder has been built.

Well I am still wondering what it does in game with the size really of the movies. I mean like when it is 800x600 for example does it scale it down on the movie screen? I tried to make all of the movies about the same length as well. Anyway some of the ones I would say to look at that are not cut down from others are the Art of War, Amphitheater, and Longevity for example besides Terra Cotta.

But your movies look really good. Thank you very much.

I updated the leonardo movie, and changed the paks around a little to fit under the 10 mb limit. Took leonardo from youtube.

Anyway I am not concerned with the actual file size. I am just using 320x240 for size on the movie screen because I think if bigger it sticks out compared to the others, and I have all of the movies approximately 20 seconds long.Maybe I am movie standard grouch I don't know. Just like to have everything about the same in game.

Really nice work Arian on the movies keep it up.

Arian

Firaxis movies are 720x486 (width x height) and 30 frames/sec.

Mine are 640x480 and only 25 frames/sec.

In my opinion 320x240 is way too small!

Jun 06, 2008, 05:31 PM
Well then you are making more sense than me. I thought they were not scaling. I may redo the ones I did in the future then.

I put together 2 packs that I had made in the WoC. Some of the work was trimmed down from some people's work before. I did many myself anyway so when you see what is in the pack the movies are not the same as the ones made before and used by many mods. I tried to stay small with them as to take as little space as possible.

Movie Pak 1
Alhambra
Arc De Triomphe
Leonardo's Workshop
Bach Cathedral
The Blue Mosque
Cure for Cancer
Copernicus Observatory
Crusades
Theory of Evolution
Flavian Amphitheater

http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=9650

Movie Pak 2
Art of War
The Gateway Arch
Hungarian Parliament
Longevity
Magellan's Voyage
Leaning Tower of Pisa
Plato's Academy
SETI
Terra Cotta Army
Woman's Universal Suffrage
World Trade Center

http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=9651

Anyway I thought put them here to be found in one thread.
Good to see those Civ 2 wonder movies converted to biks.. are you going to convert the rest of them as well? I was going to convert them too since my mod has most of those wonders but hadn't yet figure out how to cut scenes of wonder effects from the end of Civ 2 movies to make them more suitable for BtS (noob on video editing here)... you just saved lot of my time with the release of those movies :D

Okay, maybe I'm raising a red flag here for nothing, and I thought I was good with XML code... but now I'm beginning to wonder...

I can't get a single National Wonder movie to show up in-game... not the same problem as before (I didn't FPK them and I'm NOT getting a blank blue screen)... what's happening... is NOTHING AT ALL!

I linked the BIK files in both the CIV4BuildingInfos.xml and CIV4ArtDefines_Movie.xml... what do I get? Nothing at all... build a national wonder and it's the same as it always is... "You have built National-Wonder-X... what would you like to build now"... no movie, no movie screen box... it just builds like any other unit and asks you what you want to build next.

Did I miss a flag or command in XML? I tried multiple National Wonders... not a one of them came-up with a movie when it was built.

I tried MULTIPLE National Wonders... not a one came up as a movie... I did the following code below for the National Park as an example... I did all the national wonders in the same format, changing the lines below in the two files... did I miss something I should have done? Has anyone else gotten a national wonder movie in-game?

My code in CIV4ArtDefines_Movie.xml:

<MovieArtInfo>
<Type>ART_DEF_MOVIE_NATIONAL_PARK</Type>
<Path>Art/Movies/Wonders/NationalPark.bik</Path>
<KFM>None</KFM>
</MovieArtInfo>

This is the code in CIV4BuildingInfos.xml:

<MovieDefineTag>ART_DEF_MOVIE_NATIONAL_PARK</MovieDefineTag>

Anybody else got this problem??

Don't panic, Wolf :)

I've gone through this also and I found the solution in GIR's post about the Forbidden Palace. That national wonder triggered a movie while others did not. Well, the trick is in the Python!!

Look in the CvEventManager.py for this entry:

def onBuildingBuilt(self, argsList):

If yours looks like this:

def onBuildingBuilt(self, argsList):
'Building Completed'
pCity, iBuildingType = argsList
game = gc.getGame()
if ((not gc.getGame().isNetworkMultiPlayer()) and (pCity.getOwner() == gc.getGame().getActivePlayer()) and isWorldWonderClass(gc.getBuildingInfo(iBuildingTyp e).getBuildingClassType())):
# If this is a wonder...
popupInfo = CyPopupInfo()
popupInfo.setButtonPopupType(ButtonPopupTypes.BUTT ONPOPUP_PYTHON_SCREEN)
popupInfo.setData1(iBuildingType)
popupInfo.setData2(pCity.getID())
popupInfo.setData3(0)
popupInfo.setText(u"showWonderMovie")
popupInfo.addPopup(pCity.getOwner())

then add the following lines for each national wonder movie you want to display:

if ( iBuildingType==gc.getInfoTypeForString("BUILDING_NATIONAL_WONDER") ):
popupInfo = CyPopupInfo()
popupInfo.setButtonPopupType(ButtonPopupTypes.BUTT ONPOPUP_PYTHON_SCREEN)
popupInfo.setData1(iBuildingType)
popupInfo.setData2(pCity.getID())
popupInfo.setData3(0)
popupInfo.setText(u"showWonderMovie")
popupInfo.addPopup(pCity.getOwner())

This works fine for me. Good luck!

Thanks to GIR for the code.

Okay... I got it figured out (thanks to your files you posted)... the problem was as simple as a couple of tabs... the start to some of my lines weren't tabbed properly. I matched them to yours and it made all the difference in the world... believe it or not... some mere tabbing was all that was needed.

BTW I took the liberty to pose your idea of a movie displaying after circum...etc. the world in Zebra's thread. Hope you don't mind :)
Definitely not a problem... I would LOVE to get some sort of reward for circumnavigating the globe... I was thinking of using the "Magellan's Voyage" movie, but if you have something better in-mind, I'm all for it.

Area51 is more a secret weapon facility in my game than an alien research center, adding a bonus in science output and giving experience to new units, to the movie doesn't fitt completly. However it is still well done, with very creepy music. :)

The first SDI-movie I made was about 2m40sec (160 secs)!!
Way to long so I decided to shrink it down to 62 secs.

I'll try to keep them between 30 - 60 secs.

Could we get one for the KGB? There's one floating around in some mods (under the name Lubjanka) but it's not very good quality and has lots of artifacts.
I'd also like to see one for Petra, Machu Picchu, the Canadian Oil Sands and one to represent the Canada Civ mod's Hockey Night.

Machu Picchu is already done. It's in the DL-DB.

I will make a movie for KGB and Petra, it's just gonna take some time.

Give me some info/suggestions on the Canadian Oil Sands and the Canada Hockey Night so I can think of some things to put in those movies.
Hockey = Ice Hockey isn't it?

Xenomorph
Jun 12, 2008, 01:11 PM
Lol, I just saw that Machu Picchu mod. I was hoping to edit my post before someone noticed. :D
For the Oil Sands, images that show the giant mining operation, the huge trucks used to haul the sand (largest in the world), and the process of removing the oil from the sand would be good. Perhaps even showing the final product at the end.
And yes, Hockey = ice hockey. I wasn't aware that there were other forms of it. :confused:
As for the video itself, I really don't have much to help you with. Just try to keep it nation neutral. I renamed the wonder from Hockey Night in Canada to just Hockey Night to keep it in line with all the other wonders in the game that dropped national and location specific descriptors in their name, i.e. The Library of Alexandria was named The Great Library, the Great Wall of China was is just called the Great Wall, etc.

Some antiviruses, like Kaspersky Antivirus, block uploading of large files. It could also be that you don't have the latest version of Java installed. There is also a program that they released for uploading, called the MFUploader. There's a tutorial for using it here. (http://72.14.205.104/search?q=cache:NV7gDmNHl7YJ:www.cooldbz.com/viewtopic.php%3Ff%3D281%26t%3D3792+mediafire+probl ems+uploading&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=9&gl=us&client=firefox-a)
http://www.sendspace.com/ is another site you might want to look at.
As a suggestion, you could use video from the movies Red Planet and Mission to Mars for the Mission to Mars video. You could also use video from Apocalypto for the Sacrificial Pyramid.
I would also like to request a video for the Manhattan Project (if there isn't one already).

Well, it would be easiest, if you have a look at both with RAD Tool, because it is difficult to describe both. Well, I will try... Arians movie shows mostly statues and monumals of great heroes. But I think a heroic epic is more about a story, which is narrated, than about monuments. I tried to display this with the pictures I did choose, and also I picked different music. I think it is a matter of taste, which one you prefer.

Arian & JustATourist... thank both of you for the fine work you're doing here.

Like JustATourist says, there's different interpretations of things, and to each their own... both of you are doing great work, and since JustATourist pointed-out the RAD Tool... wow... that's a pretty good tool... real easy for a total noob like me to figure out some things... so I played around a bit and I modified a couple of Wonders more to my liking... I'll upload the results here in case anyone prefers them.

Two Wonders I wanted to change the music on... both of these wonders are based on Arian's movies for the same wonders... I just changed the music on both, since (in my opinion), Arian used a kind of "modern-tecno" music-track, and I thought it a bit distracting to these older-age wonders. I really liked the movies Arian made, just wanted a more "age-specific" music to go with them, so here they are:

Brandenburg Gate Wonder: using Arian's movie set to Wagner's Lohengrin prelude
Heroic Epic Wonder: using Arian's movie set to JustATourist's more classical music for this wonder

Have you tried interspacing live footage with the still pictures? For example, you could move between short clips of games being played in the Globen with pictures that highlight its structural uniqueness. It would help break things up from all the pan and scan pictures without requiring you to get a whole lot of actual motion video.

Arian

Have you tried interspacing live footage with the still pictures?

I did on several occasions. For example the Air Defense Network and the SDI.

As I said before it is difficult to find good quality footage. Movies might be blurry (like Hockey Night) or too small. And it's quite time consuming to make this kind of movies.

Tsukiji is very low-res; it would be cool if someone made a movie that had the same resolution as all the rest. Likewise, all movies in the pack by Johny Smith are also low-res; we're using all those for now, but it would be great to have some bigger ones.

popupInfo.setButtonPopupType(ButtonPopupTypes.BUTT ONPOPUP_PYTHON_SCREEN)
popupInfo.setData1(iBuildingType)
popupInfo.setData2(pCity.getID())
popupInfo.setData3(0)
popupInfo.setText(u"showWonderMovie")
popupInfo.addPopup(pCity.getOwner())

This works fine for me. Good luck!

Thanks to GIR for the code.

I have edited my CivEventManager.Py file to include the code posted here for each building In your National wonders pack, along with the XML changes to CIV4ArtDefines_Movie.xml and Civ4BuildingInfos.xml as described by wolfshanze:

My code in CIV4ArtDefines_Movie.xml:

<MovieArtInfo>
<Type>ART_DEF_MOVIE_NATIONAL_PARK</Type>
<Path>Art/Movies/Wonders/NationalPark.bik</Path>
<KFM>None</KFM>
</MovieArtInfo>

This is the code in CIV4BuildingInfos.xml:

<MovieDefineTag>ART_DEF_MOVIE_NATIONAL_PARK</MovieDefineTag>

but I am still not seing any national wonder movies when the buildings are built. Is there something else I must do?

It should work or there might be something wrong with the indentation of your Python-code.
You can use a Python-editor to check your code.

comatosedragon
Jun 24, 2008, 02:27 PM
The indentation is correct, no errors are returned. The files modified are in the program files\2k games\firaxis\civ4\bts\assests\python & ...\assests\xml folders, respectivley. I did this correct, or should I add these files to custom assets of ..\my games\bts ?

Arian
Jun 24, 2008, 02:39 PM
My files are in the mod-folder: assets\python

Can you see the buildings in the civilopedia?

comatosedragon
Jun 24, 2008, 02:48 PM
Yes, I see them in the pedia, but I'm only using the wonder movies for existing national wonders (west point, wall street, etc). I edited the original code, because I wanted to not have to load a mod to use them. Should I set it up as a mod to get it to function?

Arian
Jun 24, 2008, 02:53 PM
I don't think it's necessary to set it up as a mod.

If you did as you said the movies should show. A few pages back in this thread I've uploaded my Python-files. Check them out.

Jun 24, 2008, 02:59 PM
Actualy, I copied the code from your files (deleting the code for the buildings I do not use). I guess I'll just have to play around with things a little and see what happens.

I'm sorry I can't help you any further. The code works for me (BTS 3.13 btw). I hope you figure it out.

Something else strange I just noticed, When A tech is researched, no sound clip is played (and the info screen does not pop up either!) So I'm guessing something screwy is going on in the CvEventManager.py; since neither of the two xml files have anything to do with tech, but there is a call to CvTechChooser in the the python (even though nothing was changed) . . . very odd . . .

Arian
Jun 24, 2008, 03:35 PM
It smells like a python error. On several occasions I had something similar and the whole GUI was gone!! :eek:

Why don't you upload your event.py here so I might check it?

This file is a private File. So you don't have rights to download this file.

Just attach it to your post.

sorry about that. Grr I feel so foolish. How do I attach it to a post . . .?

Arian

Zip/RAR your file first, then you can attach it to your post (zip/rar extension required!)

Ok, well, It's half working! I get a blank blue screen where the movie should be, but that's more than I ever got before. I guess the problem now lies in the XML. What did you change in python? (maybe there is a similar problem with my xml which i can fix)

Arian
Jun 24, 2008, 04:55 PM
Your mod-file seems allright in the edtor. It runs smoothly, no errors whatsoever :)

Arian
Jun 24, 2008, 05:00 PM
You should not PAK your movies. Wolfshanze did that and got that blue screen! I guess CIV can't find the movie. Check your XML again.

Your event.py did contain hidden/invisible strange characters. Somehow I displayed them and did a simple find and replace.

I can't let Arian have all the fun:

The Hanseatic League (http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=9859)
especially requested by Walter Hawkwood

Secret Weapon Development (http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=9860)
requested by me :)

Arian
Jun 24, 2008, 05:14 PM
:goodjob: I can see you put in a lot of time and effort to make these movies :hatsoff:

I'll tag the Hanseatic as done on the front page and give you all the credit! One little thing: I couldn't read the text. It went too fast and maybe choose a different color with more contrast. You might also want to fade out the music.

But alas who am I to criticize your work ;).

comatosedragon
Jun 24, 2008, 05:17 PM
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by PAK, this is a sample of the XML in CIV4Artdefines_movie:

<MovieArtInfo>
<Type>ART_DEF_MOVIE_ACADEMY</Type>
<Path>Art/Movies/Wonders/Academy.bik</Path>
<KFM>None</KFM>
</MovieArtInfo>

And the hidden chars you were talking about in the first python file or the second i posted? Both? I still quite dont understand, it may have been due to the program i used to edit them, I'm now using EditRocket.

Arian
Jun 24, 2008, 05:28 PM
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by PAK

Modders use PAK-build to pack the art-files so their mods load faster. The movies however should not be packed and be placed in assets/art/movies/wonders.

Your CIV4artdefinesmovie.XML seems alright.

Make sure in CIV4BuildingInfos.xml to tag the movie:

<MovieDefineTag>ART_DEF_MOVIE_ACADEMY</MovieDefineTag>

which you already did I believe.

You should be in business by now!

But alas who am I to criticize your work ;).

Actually I have no problem to take critique from you. You are quite good with doing movies.

Fade music out is a good thing, I'd like to do it, but the program I use doesn't give me this option. Normally I do cutting with Nero Visions. So if you have any advice how to create a fade out without an extra hour of work, don't hold back. :)

Edit: @comatosedragon: You did put the movies in the asset folder, not into the custon asset folder?

Arian
Jun 24, 2008, 05:33 PM
Try to load your movie in Windows Movie Maker. This program lets you easily fade in/out sound (and pictures/movies).

comatosedragon
Jun 24, 2008, 05:41 PM
Edit: @comatosedragon: You did put the movies in the asset folder, not into the custon asset folder?

Yes, they are in
Assests/art/movies/wonders

Am making a final check of the xml now, and then another test . . .

JustATourist
Jun 24, 2008, 07:34 PM
I did some changes to the Hanseatic League Movie, the text should be better readable now. It was really well readable before I binked it, so I can't do much more about it. The Download is at the same place (http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=9859).

Unfortunally Windows Movie Maker created way to many artifacts at the video, so still no music fade out... Perhaps I should look for better software.

Arian, just an idea: Have you thought about creating an index in alphabetical order with direct links at your first post? I am getting the feeling this thread is getting a little bit confusing because of its length. I think there were links to some more movie downloads, which could be overlooked quite easy.

Good idea. I'll put the requests/done in the first post. The packs in the second post and an alphabetical list in the third post.
I'll check this thread for movies made by other people and post them also on the first page. It's gonna be copy 'n paste time the next couple of days :D

I don't think it is this much of work. But if you want me to help out, I will do. :)

However, Version 3 (final) of the Hanseatic League now with music fade out is uploaded now at the same location (http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=9859). Thanks for your advises Arian.

Nice movie. I'll put it on the first page.
To make the movie more generic (not especially related to NASA) you might want to remove the NASA text at the end.

I didn't know NASA employed chimps :lol:
