I built the AP a long time ago in Bud. Two or three other civs were with me for centuries and we did good things together, ganged banged Monty:lol:.

But the chance to vote for a "winner" never appeared. What am I missing here?

Also, about 1700 AD I switched to FR. Now the only issue we are asked about is who to elect, and that folllows as a result of me not being in Bud, right?

Where I can I read about the AP?

Every single opponent has to have at least one city of the AP religion. They only need one.

And one is the best. I like to build the palace and then unleash 1 missionary onto every opponent that doesn't have the religion. This way the diplo vote comes up and they don't have enough votes to override your choice.

It can be tricky getting your religion to that last Civ. They might have closed borders, with you so that you can't get your missionary in. They might have theocray, preventing the heresy from spreading in their lands.

You can try diplomacy, you can try declaring war against the infidels, you can try gifting missionaries, you can try gifting a city with your religion already in it. Explore the possibillities.

Yep. Every single civ except the dead ones. They don't need to be in the religion only have the religion.

you also can't have enough votes that you could vote yourself the win

Which means by spreading your religion to one of each AI city you wont win the game. Although you will win lots of votes on proposals. I have found by swapping to the Ap religion your votes seem to double up!! You also become a voting member. Hard to judge it really.

I would do a search on Ap on the forums. I asked a lot of questions about this before.

I have had the option of victory, being the AP leader, and have lost it. Of course I clicked on "Victory," but it didn't happen...

@Gumbolt: actually that isn't true, if you add it up perfectly you can get it so either you only need 1 AI vote to win, or you can use the exploit
