NBK Jun 07, 2008, 04:57 PM :mad:Hi
I read the documentation, the manual and the civpedia. I still have yet to figure out how to do it. Can someone help me?
Thanks

Rhyshaelkan Jun 07, 2008, 11:13 PM Omnimutant would know. He seems to have this thing for nuking people :P

PieceOfMind Jun 08, 2008, 01:00 AM Just so you know, you can also load from forts.

Never thought of that... but then again, I rarely build forts.
UncleJJ Jun 08, 2008, 01:26 PM You can also transfer cruise missiles to or from submarines or other missile cruisers when at sea if they are on the same tile. That's useful to reload after you've launched a mass attack or if you want to attack with the missile cruisers and they still have a few spare missiles left, no point in risking the missiles as well.
So in one turn you can fly the cruise missile to a nearby city or fort; and then load either a submarine or missile cruiser (to transport them), and then move that to your chosen missile cruiser and transfer the missiles. They are ready to fire next turn. With a little planning you can reload your fleet in a few turns.

But I'm certain you capture them frequently. :D

In the most useless of places (the AI tends to build them either randomly or on top of resources, which I'll usually convert to the normal improvement.
To be honest, I usually only make forts for two reasons...
1) A canal
2) A forward airbase
I think in all the games I've played, I only made one series of forts for their original purpose (defense)... I once had a huge empire that bordered another huge empire and the ONLY way to get from my empire to theirs (or vice-versa) was a convienently narrow mountain pass that was only two squares wide at its widest point... I convienently built a couple of forts in that pass, then declared war on my neighbor and let him run his massive armies into my prepared forts... it was a slaughter (and a lot of fun).
Other then that... I pretty much never build forts.
Supr49er Jun 09, 2008, 10:56 AM I have used them to get a resource, like oil, without having to wait for a well.

Why would one ever build a cruise Missile when Tactical Nukes are available!

I must admit I do. :)
