View Full Version : Should we pop the hut?
Zwelgje Jul 23, 2002, 08:23 AM Stupid question of course but as the minister of foreign affairs I have to ask your opinion on matters concerning our attitude towards other people, so:
Should we pop the hut we can see two tiles away from our settlers, yes or no?
edit:
Maybe some extra info:
From the hut we can get NONE units (which would be good as this will give us a unit to explore the continent), gold, tech, advanced tribe. We cannot get barbarians as long as we haven't build a city.
mordhiem Jul 23, 2002, 08:43 AM This thread is just a waste of space :D.
duke o' york Jul 23, 2002, 08:45 AM I believe that the technical term for such a question is a no-brainer. :)
Of course we should pop the hut! For no other reason, then we will uncover more tiles by so doing and so it will be better for exploration. Ideally we'll get a NON horsie or chariot from the hut, but we won't be reloading if we get 25g! Only after we have popped the hut will the foreign ministry have to swing into action. It is possible that you'll get the odd joker voting no for your poll, but if they're that dumb then we're in trouble listening to them!
Becka Jul 23, 2002, 11:05 AM Pop the hut, pop the hut! :king:
anarchywrksbest Jul 23, 2002, 12:03 PM Pop that hut, oh yeah!
Kev Jul 23, 2002, 12:22 PM Yes. Have those 10,000 people all pile into that hut!
By the way, with two settlers that accounts for 20,000 citizens. There were 40,000 on the spaceship when we began....
Did something bad happen?
anarchywrksbest Jul 23, 2002, 12:48 PM Yes some of them got a bit uppity so I blew them out an airlock ;)
A_Bashkuev Jul 23, 2002, 12:55 PM Dear Kev!
As I know about it, we have ONLY 10,000 citizens now (by domestic screen information). Some inside informator tell me that another 10,000 of our brethren was Russians & they have already created some tent-camp in somewhere named as Moscow ;). I think it's bad thing to start fighting with our brethren until they will prove that they completely deserve it! (It is better if we'll make it by Slealth-bombers contesting their Musketeers :).)
Fate of another 20,000 is unknown, but somebody somewhere tell me that they are multiplicated in time of our space-journey & there are five other locations with 10,000 sitizens in this planet (except ours & Russians). It means that we get 30,000 little brats in our journey... Well, I think this journey wasn't so boring as it seems by first glance;).
Oh, do you not know about such form of activity? My... My...
I think you hide something! :)
Thnks & brgds, Alex.
starlifter Jul 23, 2002, 04:36 PM Pop the hut. If we can ID the location of a 2nd hut & have a 2-move unit quickly pop it (see thread about Specials & Huts), they pop that hut, too, even if a delay of another day must be made in founding the city.
@ A_Bashkuev: LOL! :)
bigfatron Jul 23, 2002, 10:31 PM Weird...
I voted to pop the hut but the vote came up as 'not pop'!?
I think I have concluded that my PC is even stupider than me...
Zwelgje Jul 24, 2002, 12:37 AM Well, your vote was casted as pop the hut bigfatron because there are no votes in don't pop the hut. :)
heliogabalus Jul 24, 2002, 08:10 AM After initial scruples, I voted in favour of popping, although there is a strong case to be made for non-intervention - I hope you all remember the First Directive. Wouldn't it be an entirely different, happier, more peaceful sort of game if we left our differently developed, more down-to-earth siblings in their serene dwellings and maybe even tuned in a bit into their spirituality?

BTW, why does the poll result show a blue bar even though there were no "no"-votes?
