Hi everyone. I recently was trying out this mod, and having a good game. I was calmly playing peacefully untill, out of nowhere, the game said I declared war on Rome. I know he didn't declare war on me because it says I did it. Not only did I not want war, but my war allies (defencive pacts) didn't go to war against my attacker! Anyone have any ideas on why this might be happpening?

- Have you accepted a Vassal. If he is in war with Rome you automatically declare war on it if you accept the Vassal.
- Has the Apostolic Palace passed a decision to declare war on Rome? Even if you said no in the vote you will still automatically declare war if the decision was approved by the majority. Only if you answered never you won't get into war but you will be announced an infidel and your people will hate you.
These are the two cases I can think of.

There's also the Alt+Click on the civ name in the bottom right corner - it declares war IIRC.
Ctrl+Click at the same spot opens the trade window.
I use Ctrl+Click habitually, and I'm careful not to hit Alt instead, as I have done it once or twice.

Look at the event log (ctrl+tab) after the war declaration. Because messages was spammed on screen during that turn change you missed the message: "July 2006, Augustus Caesar has declared war on Sitting bull!". After that comes messages about deals being cancelled and then your war declaration against Rome - so it's just normal war situation. You may not want war but Caesar thinks you should have one anyway... ;)
