First of thanks to anyone that can help

So I first realized when I installed Civ 4 that I couldnt download the patches because it would say something like "No existing Civilization 4 game found" and I thought nothing of it because after it "refused" to install the 1.6 it would tell me I need to install the 1.7 patch and end up the same way. Once again I thought nothing of it, btw the game was downloaded off of the internet (legally)

Well after purchasing the Beyond the Sword expansion (Also online download) I went into the installation window and it would say "Downloading newest civilization 4 patch" and afterwards would say "Patch installation failure, Installation window is closing." Now I cant install the BtS expansion I payed good money for :(

Any Ideas?

where did you download civ4 from and where did you download bts from - i hope it is the same vendor :)

for d2d you need to get any patches from them - and likely patch civ4 first before installing bts.
