I have bought Civ IV for my father and have been installing it on his computer. I've managed to resolve a few video issues, however all the in-game writing is just strange symbols, like dotted x's and a's. has anyone ever seen this problem before or have any ideas to resolve it? the game language is definitely set to english and everything else is working fine. thanks for reading and look forward to your answers! x

what operating system are you using? what language is that?

i'm using xp, and i'm not sure if it is a 'language' or just random...something, how it looks on the picture is how it is. it's a legit copy so i'm not sure why it's doing it, obviously it's not very common as i haven't found the same problem metioned anywhere. i've done a full uninstall/reinstall and checked the font files, they seem fine, though i don't really know that much about computers!

you are using an english language windows, right?
could you post your dxdiag results?
