Hi there, I am having troubles with Civ4. I just installed it and patched it onto my Vista Computer, and every time I try to start the game, it tells me to "Please insert the correct DVD-ROM, select OK and restart the application" and then shuts off. My copy is from when the game came out, and I have just recently fished it out of the closet and installed it.
Any help would be most appreciated.

try running the game in XP compatibility mode. Also you need to run it with admin privileges...

Yes I managed to fix it. All it required was for the game to be run under a CD hack. Very odd, maybe my computer was having reading problems :P

This is what I had to resort to as well... looks like an overly aggressive SafeDisc issue :mad: This is just poor programming when only the legitimate users are the only ones who can't run their software...
