Hi there!
I'm trying to make a glowing material with Blender to show up in game. I know that you can't animate anything in civ with Blender but I thought it would be possible to somehow make things appear as glowing. I have tried the halo option without success (it works while rendering in Blender but doesn't seem to work after exporting to .nif files). Do you now any way to make this work, please help me out! :)

You need to export from Blender normally, then use NifScope (or nif viewer) to add a glow map.
Or add the glow map in Blender directly - if the exporter can handle that (which i somewhat doubt :rolleyes:)...

I think I managed to add the glow map in nifscope and attach it to my .dds which made my material brighter and a little bit glossier. Problem is, it does'nt really seem to glow...
I'm looking for more of a "great prophet halo effect", do you think that is possible with Blender/nifscope? Or did I do something wrong with the glow map?

You'll probably need particules system for that, and blender exporter script can't handle particules unfortunatly.

Oh that kind of glow... Well Great Propeht glow is not a particle system - it uses a "animated" material propertie to make it look dynamic. I don't really know, how to produce this effect from export. You can however use nifscope, to copy the glowing aura from the prophet on your model... You will loose the animation (this dynamic change of glow intensity). But you can change the color/shape of the effect by editing the material in nifscope and the texture.

Yeah, I tried with the particle system first until I realized it doesn't go along very well with the script =(
That would have been exactly what I was looking for otherwise....

Alrighty, I think I will try to play around with the great prophet glow to see what can be done. Thanks for helping me out...
