I just recently saw some of the .cpp files in Beyond the Sword file folder...after studying them fast (i only know C#) and realize that is the part of game engine source...

So is Firaxis releasing the source code of the engine ? :confused:

No, it's actually everything except the engine source. The engine source is unavailable, but all of the game rules, AI and such form a client DLL file, the source of which is indeed fully available. That's why there are so many great mods.

The guys that created Space Empires series are on the same level of moddability as Civ4....give that game a shot, you will love it
