Does anyone else have Severe Warmonger Syndrome? I was diagnosed with it today .

Although I feel a tiny bit better, I'd like to know if anybody else is suffering from this.

May i suggest a possible alternate spelling to SWS .... ADD!

hehehe, in the sense that i can just imagine what a military leader with ADD would actually be like!?!? Any suggestions on that?

SWS+ADD = Donald Rumsfeld...

I don't know how to do anything but rule the world.

But, I'm only a couple games into Civ IV. Maybe I'll learn to be diplomatic or cultural (when it's not required for war). :)

Severe Warmonger 1: "Good evening everyone. I'd, uh, like to welcome you all to this, our, uh, first meeting of Severe Warmongers Anonymous. As you might expect, we're going to be following the classic twelve-step model for our program of recovery. Now, uh, the first step..."

SW2: "Ooooh! I know! The first step is to bee-line Bronze Working!"

SW1: "No, that's not actually..."

SW3: "Yeah! BW FTW! Then you get roads... that's step two right?"

SW1: "Not really--look, it's about acknowledging a higher power..."

SW2: "Ohhhh... I get it! We're playing as Rome!"

SW3: "Cool!"

SW2: "Well, then, after Bronze Working and Roads, step three is Iron Working."

SW4: "YEAH! And then spam Praets!"

All SW: "YEAH!! PRAET SPAM! PRAET SPAM! PRAET SPAM!"

SW1: "STOP THIS! STOP IT RIGHT NOW! <sigh> Look, this is, this is exactly the problem. Wars don't solve anything. There are, y'know, other paths to victory... peaceful paths. Through culture, for example, or, or, scientific advances..."

SW2: "You know, you remind me of someone..."

SW3: "Yeah... he reminds me of Gandhi!"

SW4: "KILL THE PACIFIST! KILL HIM NOW!!"

SW1: "Oh darn. Uh... meeting adjourned!"

(SW1 beats a hasty retreat with a bunch of guys in greaves, chest plates, and horsehair-plumed helmets in close pursuit.)

i had it bad in Civ 3, but my warmongering sucks in civ 4. I conquer, but not near as much. I've only won diplomatic and cultural...

I suffer from SNS (Severe Nuking Syndrome)

Got ager issues? Solve em with Nuke-a-Day. Nuke-a-Day is a risk free program that lets you relieve pent up stress and anger by nuking the ***** out of all those ******** who desperately deserve it. Don't be fooled by those other products that claim to be nukes but are really just an atomic facade. Nuke-a-day uses real ICBMs that are guaranteed to relieve your anger or your money back. Get Nuke-a-Day now!!! Remember, a Nuke a Day keeps your anger away!!!

Having SWS isn't that bad, you could be one of those people trying for culture with Monty next to them who 'forgot' to build an army

I have been playing my first 'prince' game this week and i think the AI definately has SWS!!

The AI declares war, invades, invaders get killed AI pays me money for peace. Then they build up another strike force and declare war again and so on and so forth. I have made a rediculous amount of money from peace treaties in this game so far!!

Then last night i finally managed to break out of my own defensive corner and pummelled the Aztecs. Then half way through conquoring the Aztecs, the Japaneese declared war and then came in and smashed my entire elite army (many units with up to 7 promotions) and took all the cities i just conquored, all in just 1 turn!! They had an open boarders policy with Aztecs that allowed them to run streight over me with no chance of a response from me. Geez, i learnt my lesson, this open boarders thing is a HUGE threat when your attacking somone. So i reloaded the game and killed off some key roads, and you know what, after i removed those roads the Japaneese decided not to declare war - What! so they are only going to attack when they can roll over me in 1 turn???

Epilogue to above post:

After some time, the Japaneese did declare war but by then i had allot of bombers on standby. So they come at me with a massive force from land and sea, and i am frantically pounding the bejeesus out of everything in sight with bombers and they are pounding me with bombers and i am shooting down theior bombers with fighters and they are shooting down my bombers with fighters and they are raping the crap out of my local tile improvements and i am anihilating all their stacks of doom..... Oh yea fun fun fun - (perhaps a do have a little SWS after all)

Anyhow, they lost all their local ground forces except the ones cowering inside Mongol territory nearby. They had me surrounded with a huge fleet and aircraft carriers. I decided to rush buy some submarines and then launched a massive bombing campaign on their fleet so my subs had easy pickings. After the Japaneese lost their carriers they decided to sue for peace and offered me over 3000 credits!!! i nearly fell off my chair!!!!
