This is the thread to discuss and update anything related to the 1944AD on GEM scenario development.

Current status: Under development
A variation of the 1940AD scenario. This sceanario will set off with:

Major Allies offensive:

About Jun 1944 in the western front. Just before the D-Day.

About Jan 1944 in the eastern front. Russian counter attack is begin.

About Jan 1944 in the pacific. The Allies launched Gilbert and Marshall Islands campaigns.

About Jan 1944 in Italy. Allies forces is reaching Rome.

About Apr 1944 in China. Japan is to launch Operation Ichi-Go.

About Feb 1944 in Americas. Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Peru have declared war on the Axis.

How are you planning to balance this? Indeed are you?

Whilst I haven't played the 1940mod properly yet, reading from posts the Axis seem pretty weak especially in the hands of AI when not urgently pressing the short term military advantage as a human player would. The presumption is then that this would be a cake walk for the allied human, although a good challenge for playing with Japan/ Germany.

Or is this the idea?

Yes, to some extend, I am trying to make remedies to the 1940 mod by changing the start date. In 1942 and 1944, all the major powers are at war, which would hopefully have more actions initiated by the AI.

But don't get it wrong that the Axis in 1940 scenario is too weak. It is only weak in the hands of AI. If human player using Germany, you can almost always repeat history. The problem of the scenario, is somewhat not a problem of itself, but the problem of the stupidity of CIV's AI when it works in scenarios.
