To make myself more clear, the game works fine but its playing online that doesn't. When I choose to play on the internet it takes a few seconds to connect to game spy and then it brings me to the game selection lobby. But thats as for as I get. There are no games to join, it is just stuck on refresh and nothing ever comes up. The same goes for a LAN game. We have everything set up, and I know my LAN network is working because other games work fine on it, but even though we know we are connected the game I host never shows up on the other computers list of games to join. I would really like to play this game online or at least a LAN game so if anyone knows whats going wrong please help me.

As for the technical stuff, I have Civ III Gold straight out of the box. There seem to be no updates for it so I have version 1.27f.

I don't have MP knowledge to help you, but I do know that PTW was notoriously bad for MP....

(And yes, you have the final patched version.)

I don't think you have any problems with the online multiplayer portion. There just aren't any games to play through Gamespy. I just checked myself, and there are no games available. PTW came out in 2002, there just aren't online anymore. As for the LAN thing, make sure that Civ3 is on your firewall exception list, and that the network setting on your computer allow for connections. That should be it, and your LAN games should connect.

Well, i checked everything out and it seems to be solved. There are no online matches simply because there are no online matches. As for the LAN, that has been fixed. There seemed to be an IP collision where both pc's had the same IP address. After fixing that they connected fine. Thanks for your help.
