I'm SO mad ... I've been all over town, and NO ONE has CivRev.

Gamestop says it ships from their HQ today and they won't get it till tomorrow. Target says they're having shipping problems with several games. Meijer doesn't know what the heck is going on with ANY games. And Best Buy SAID they had it when I called, only to tell me when I got there that they actually don't, and it has a "street date" of July 9, not 8. (I'm not buying that ...)

So, if you've actually found a story with it in-stock today, please share!

Second, I call Gamestop this morning because they call me yesterday saying that my copy will be available today July 8th. I called and they say that the game it supposed to be available this afternoon. They say is going to be tomorrow because they are not sure at what time the shipment will arrive so for them is easy to say tomorrow, but I'm probably going to get my copy this evening.

I have the DS and 360 versions reserved at Gamestop - but have not been called about them. I called them this morning and they said it was not in their computer, which might mean today or tomorrow. Sigh.

Best Buy and Circuit City still have it listed as preorder.

Some stores does not have the game yet so they hold them. BUT if you are lucky, probably tonight you can get you copy. It happen with another 360 game some time ago. They said that the game will be next day but I convince the dude to sell me one copy the day before :D

That's exactly why they are not going to tell you if any store have it today. Because that only store will get overcrowded.

It's not like we are going to drive to another state to go get the game. But if someone snags one at a target, then that means my target might have it.

My gamestop says they get it in the mail tommorow morning around 630 am and they open at 7am he said that they will have it stocked and displays set up at 7am so i could come in anytime wednesday and get my copy maybe even after wednesday if i wanted he said !

I'm glad Thralia warned me that it wouldn't come out today, before I ran around all the local game stores. By the way, it is confusing for both Sanveann and KAZUY4 to have the same avatar.

My Gamestop said they will have it tomorrow, though that was yesterday when I called them, so I may try them again later.

Wal-Mart said this morning that they didn't yet have it, but they have trucks coming at 2 and 8, both of which it could be on... the 8 one is likely, but if its that late I may just wait till morn. Its almost 2, so I'll call them later and see what they say.

This is like some sort of cruel joke. I called Circuit City and the guy there told me he didn't know if they had it in or not, but their national flyer says that it won't be released until 2 p.m. tomorrow. What the heck?!? [pissed]

Guess I'll just have to play a game of Civ IV Warlords tonight when I go home to ease the tension!

It looks like we won't get it today from all appearances. I just got back from checking:

Target: They had the sticker in the display case with the bar code and price tag but no game. I asked and the clerk scanned it and said they were sold out. Most likely, they have received no inventory and he just saw that on the scan and assumed sold out.

Gamestop: This place had the best informed employees. One was in the same boat as us (frustrated by the extra day delay) as he had been waiting for this game as well. He said it was shipping out today and they would have it tomorrow.

Walmart: In contrast, the least informed and interested employees of all. The guy I asked (who was pointed out as the employee who knew the games when I asked another one) said that they wouldn't be getting it for a few weeks. When I asked what happened to cause that he said that the release date got pushed back to late July. So he pretty much had no clue and made no effort to find the real answer.

Bestbuy: Clerk claimed they had sold out but there may be some copies at another location. He called and when he got off the phone told me the release date was actually tomorrow.

My plan is to call around the stores later today about an hour before they close in case I get lucky.

Believe me, walk in a Gamestop store today after 7pm and push a little bit I'm pretty sure you will get lucky. I did this before and it works perfect :P

My friend, who works in Gamestop, told me that the official release of the game will be tomorrow, that also include EBGAMES stores. I'm still believe that I can get lucky because he told me that the game was received a couple of hours ago :P , maybe I can get something later.

I'll be heading to Circuit City today @ 2 p.m. (taking a late lunch) to pick up my copy, since they're the only ones offering a freebie to Civ Rev DS players (the poster). I only wish they had used Washington for this game instead of Lincoln, since Washington was a true Revolutionary!

Quite possibly. My Gamestop staff had the same story. They said a lot of people who didn't reserve a copy are going to be disappointed when they sell out the first shipment. I reserved a copy. ;)

I did pick up their last Brady strat guide for CivRev. It's a good one. I know that information is online, but I like having a hard copy.

I got it - there was an actual line at Gamestop for it. All pre-orders for the big systems - it looked like they had a few non-reserved DS ones.

I got my copy from EBgames in Montreal at 11AM. I think they have 12 copies (360).

Called just about everywhere here in Toronto, as of this afternoon some Futureshops (Eglinton and Laird) have it in, others not (Scarborough Town Centre). Both Best Buy and EBgames don't expect it until tomorrow.

I got a copy for the DS and XBOX360 at Future Shop. Unfortunetly, they don't come with the bonus, even though FutureShop is owned by Bestbuy. :( I don't feel like waiting anymore, though, so I'll buy the DLC in the fall when it's released to everyone.

Got my copy @ Circuit City during my lunch break. They didn't have it out on the shelf, so they had to go fetch it, and they didn't even have it registered with the POS system yet. Apparently, I was the first person to buy it, because when I asked about the game the guy on the floor looked at me like I had a third eye in the middle of my head.

I asked about the special poster that was supposed to be given away after the guy went and got the game, and he said he didn't see any. I'm not sure how he knew to look for the posters because he didn't know about the game. I decided not to press it, because they didn't really seem very interested in helping me. :mad:

At that point, I was ready to walk out and just go to Best Buy so I could get my Reward Zone points. But then, I figured with my luck, Best Buy would be out, and I'd have to come back and deal with these jerks anyway. I do plan to fill out the survey they give you and let them know I don't plan to buy at Circuit City anymore. Oh well, at least I got my game :D

I picked up the last copy from my local Best Buy at noon today. I guess that's what happens when you hit us with a great demo and make a wait a whole month before we can buy it.

I got my copy at Gamestop this afternoon, and I'm 2-0 so far on multiplayer... But that's only because everyone ended up quitting both my games. Though I think I was on my way to an economic victory in my second game anyway.

I prefer to smell the newness on the plastic before I start playing. Better natural high that way. Or maybe it's the plastic? :p

Got mine this afternoon at a Best Buy in the Houston area. They had plenty, it was no problem. Curiously, Gamestop right across the street said they didn't have them at the same time.

Played one good game... its really fun. Its just wierd to me... there really should be a renaissance era in between medieval and industrial. I guess it was in the interest of making it a quick game. You can get infantry without getting gunpowder... that's a little off to me.

Got mine from best buy. Used the Pickup from store option online and when I got there, they didn't have it ready. Guess if they don't have it by a certain time they refund you 10 dollars. So my ps3 version only costed 50 bucks..

Yeah! So I called one of the local Gamestops by my house this afternoon, and they said they had only 2 left for Xbox 360. So I hauled ass over there, cut some girl off (by accident), and literally speed walked to the store and bought it.

There was like nobody in there, but you know, couldn't risk losing my copy of Civ! I Love it! I like the bright colors, they've grown on me. The only thing, is I wish the maps were larger, and the games were longer. I Love games that would last for weeks, sometimes over a month. Overall though, great buy.
