I've been playing a BTS game with a friend of mine, and I'm doing quite bad. I'm playing England, and said friend is playing Greece. There's also 5 AIs set on noble, which is a mode I'm not used to at all yet. I usually play rather passively until the industrial age, compared to my friend who is very aggressive.

Does anyone have any tips so that I could improve this game, or my overall gameplay in general?

Hmm, it seems to be MP save? I didn't manage to open it (well i didn't even try proceed anywhere from lobby).

It's a multiplayer save, yes.

You need to expand more. A lot more. Build more workers too. Ideally, you should have 1.5 workers per city, at least until your cities start to have all twenty tiles improved. Be more aggressive settling in the early game if you don't want to war with your neighbors. Wrecking your economy early leads to a far better economy later. Your diplomacy seems to be fine, the only thing that I would say is don't be friendly with your immediate neighbors but that's only because I'm a warmonger.
Military. It's 1500 ad and your cities are defended by axemen. You're practically begging to be attacked.
Hope my advice helps.

@Julian Dephiki- even though it's mp, you can still open the save. I can't seem to reassign citizens or end the turn though

Thanks for the response. I'll be expanding on the new continent immediately once I can get some settlers over there.

Your friend is Greece and he has Phalanx so he's powerful early. I'm guessing he's using Alexander. English are powerful in the late game though. Your economy should be good enough to expand at this stage. Also, beeline Rifling for Redcoats and get some Stock Exchanges up.
