My friend has the PC version of Warlords (and I have the Mac version) and we're trying to connect via Direct IP to play online. We have done this successfully two other times before and just attempted tonight and it wouldn't find the host's match at all for some reason. We tried restarting our computers, resetting our routers and turning them off and on, trying Civ IV vanilla, all to no avail. Both our Warlords copies are updated to 2.13.

Any suggestions on how to overcome not being able to connect via direct IP? Like I said before, it worked just fine on previous attempts earlier in the week, but only tonight did it all of a sudden decide to fail us. Thanks for any input.

As you have had it working previously, you obviously had all the settings you needed then. You both need to think hard about what you have changed since it last worked. There has to be something! The only part of the system outside of your control is the Internet. You can try asking your ISPs if anything has changed in their setups, but it seems unlikely.

Thanks, Alan. Yeah, it has me completely baffled because neither of us have changed anything on our Internet connections and nothing else has changed, as well. We're gonna try to get our ISPs to tell us what's wrong and see how that goes.
