Following are descriptions of each of the civilizations, players are free to modify their civilization if they want it to have a different background, leader, etc. Just PM me the new information and I'll replace it. You also don't have to follow the descriptions that closely, like Feydras doesn't have to act completely crazy, although people probaby shouldn't put it past him....
Civ descriptions
Amurites(neutral)
The Amurites have no ancient history, no glorious empire in the Age of Magic to harken back to or trace their lineage from. In terms of civilizations, the Amurites are newcomers on the world stage. Nevertheless, they are a force to be reckoned with, feared by some, and respected by all. Part of that respect stems from the tremendous magical power the Amurite armies command, but no small part of it stems from the incredible story of their genesis.
Balseraph(evil)
It’s a nation of lies and illusions led by a madman and his daughter. All those still clinging to sanity fled long ago, and now the Balseraphs share Perpentach’s madness, living to amuse him. He goes to war on a whim and fights unpredictably, but is no less a threat for it. Despite the capriciousness of their ruler, the Balseraph cities are marvels to behold, dizzying carnivals filled with endless amusement and captivating horrors.
Grigori (neutral)
Cassiel was an angel in the service of Dagda. He spent the Age of Dragons protecting the men who hid from the might of the warring gods around them. It was his counsel that led Dagda to create and sign the Compact, but Cassiel felt the Compact did not go far enough. He wanted the gods to retreat entirely, to let the men form their own world. When the Compact allowed the gods to battle through men, Cassiel abandoned Dagda's service and began his own crusade to lead men away from a war that has little to do with them.
Hippus (neutral)
Warriors for hire, the swift moving Hippus have fought for, and against, every nation at one time or another. They are equally happy partnered with orcs as they are with men as long as they get paid.
Khazad (neutral)
Sturdy dwarves, the Khazad have finally stepped out to embrace their destiny as one of Erebus’ powers. Tradition holds them in a firm grip, but ambition draws them away from their underground homes. Steadfast in battle, in faith and in friendship, they build their empire slowly but give not an inch in trade nor warfare.
Kuriotates (good)
Cardith Lorda is a mysterious young boy with a supernatural wisdom and unmatched charisma. His dreams of building a peace and prosperity that can stand the assault of time and calamities draw men and women of all races to his teeming cities, marvels which put even the halls of the Bannor to shame. Will their unity be enough of a shield as the Kuriotates create a lasting haven, or will the savagery of their foes require ferocity in return?

Found a burial mound and a graveyard. Seems I should get rid of the mound pronto to avoid undead problems.
Its good though, my dwarves will sharp have it flattened ;)
Probably unleash something nasty knowing my luck.
oyzar Jul 17, 2008, 01:53 PM I have a burrow that my units started on.. It is still in my bfc.. Will moving a worker on it get rid of it? and when will it start spawning units?(i kinda don't feel like dying right out of the gate..).
Draconian Jul 19, 2008, 05:29 AM Moving any unit on the burrow will destroy it. I don't know exactly on what turn it starts spawning those strength 4 sekeletons, but you should try to destroy it as soon as possible. The first sekeleton that spawns will stay on the burrow and defend it, making it very hard to destroy in the early game.

Everytime I shut this down I get a splash screen from the original game left running and have to use ctrl alt del to stop it. Does this happen to everybody else?

Sounds like i might end up with a fast exit then as i am 3 turns away from taking out the burrow inside my city...

One time a lion ended up in my cultural borders (can't remember how) and it just left.
oyzar Jul 20, 2008, 11:09 AM They are locked inside my borders until they can move... The problem is that they will stay there and accumulate until they can move at which point they will take my city(unless i manage to kill them first). Hopefully it takes longer for the barrow to start spawning skellies so i can destroy it... Strange that it wasn't destroyed from me starting on it though...

Levgre Jul 20, 2008, 03:05 PM well, skellies aren't that strong, a warrior defending can beat them. It'll just be a hassle for the workers to avoid in the meantime. I have something in my borders too that I'll have to deal with...
Hawklord Jul 20, 2008, 06:29 PM Moved away from the barrow. Seems I found it just in time if they are starting to spawn beasties. The graveyard should be ok according to the civlopedia. It only spawns skeletons if I cast magic. Hope I read that right.:mischief:

Levgre Jul 21, 2008, 03:12 PM here is a tip for scout survival...
Have them travel in pairs. This improves survivability because their visibilities assist each other so you can avoid moving into danger. Sometimes this makes both scouts safe, although sometimes only the one who moves second gets a free pass (although moving the first scout onto a forest hill is relatively safe for it).
If they actually get exp they can also specialize in defending on different tiles, also.
Draconian Jul 21, 2008, 03:40 PM I like giving my scouts the mobility promotion and only using 2 movement to explore. If the scout ends up next to a hill giant or a spider he will still have 1 movement left to move back to safety.
Levgre Jul 21, 2008, 04:00 PM yeah, that's the best probably. I sometimes still do the 1 movement to explore then stop, although that is obviously limited with forest and such.
You need horseback riding for that promotion though, right?

feydras Jul 23, 2008, 11:49 AM I'm confused by the labeling of turns. Last save i received was Sunday am from Levgre and the subject line labeled it "save 6 turn". The actual attached file is called "pangaea_FFA_AD-0005_to_Rastuni.Civ...".
I played my turn and sent it on the same morning and the file was then labeled "pangaea_FFA_AD-0005_to_oyzar.Civ...".
I assume this is because we played a turn that started at AD 0000 but it would be easier for me to remember if we referred to the file by the name the game assigns it. Something like AD5 or AD 0005 if you prefer.
Anyway, i just checked and i played and sent out the last turn i received.

oyzar Jul 23, 2008, 12:07 PM There isn't actually any AD in FFH, thats just a misstake from the naming convention... The first turn was turn 0 so we are currently at turn 5. Obviously the save is stuck at Levgre if hoplo played and you haven't gotten it yet.

Levgre Jul 23, 2008, 03:34 PM ah, okay. I got mixed up because I sent turn 5, so I was expecting to get a turn 6.
However, since I am last in the turn order I still both send and receive a turn 5, right after having played on turn 4. So I looked at Hop's E-mail with an 005 and assumed I had already played it, because to figure out if I had I looked at what the last one I had sent was.
Save will be sent shortly...
It is also strange that the e-mail was opened so it didn't look new, as I'd always play a save the first time I opened an e-mail so that is partly how I kept track. I'm thinking I clicked on the yahoo messenger pop up for a new e-mail message, and then closed it real quick.
So, I will be labeling all the e-mails by the AD number now, instead of turn, to keep things less confusing for myself and others ;p

Yet again lets see who lives in this village before celebrating too much. They might be angry and cause some trouble.

2 strength + 25% on hill + 10% culture +5% fortify = 2.8
Not sure about the bonus against barbarians, but it would've been close.

Lurker comment:
there isn't a vs barbarian bonus in FFH2, and Lizardmen start with the amphibious promotion, so don't count on the river crossing bonus ;)

Once you get the godking civic you can easily pop out a warrior every turn. That seems to me the most "convenient" and accessible way to do it.

Trouble is I will have to download all of the patches and files for this. Going to be a couple of days before I can get everything in place what with day trips and the like.

feydras Aug 08, 2008, 10:38 AM Hawklord - what turn do you have? You remarked on finding gold on 7/30 which should have been after i played my turn AD11 on 7/29. That's why i assumed it was past you already.
There is a lot of info on making FFH compatible with Vista in the FFH forums. I believe it is a simple fix and easy to find. Shouldn't take long to get it working.

Hawklord Aug 09, 2008, 05:52 AM Trouble is I haven't got as far as FFH yet. I can't get BtS working. Eventually got civ 4 to work by patching 1 at a time. Going straight to 1.7 didn't work. Now I can't gey BtS to load, it comes up with an error everytime I try to load it.

I wrote 12 days ago that judging by your post it looked like you had already played and passed on the current AD 11 turn. If so, then where is the thing? Maybe you, Hawklord, should just resend the AD 11 turn and we can go from there.

I'm not encouraging anyone to do this but i'd much rather have people do this than have the game hang on someone who is almost killed off and has lost the will to play. That's the danger of pbem games.
oyzar Sep 10, 2008, 11:33 AM My second warrior got out and i attacked the single skeleton first with the unpromoted warrior dealing a lousy 16 hp of damamge.. uh oh.. This left 51.5% chance of the second warrior... Being that the barrow was on one of the few irrigable tiles in my bfc i figured it was worth it to kill it instead of using it to generate free xp.
And i won!

I may have the right version on my laptop, gotta check. Otherwise does anyone have the version of this mod we are using for this game. I think it was .32, don't know the patch.. If someone has this where they could host it and i could snag it i would appreciate it!
