Today I was playing Warlords version 2.13 and all things were going well until the screen started doing something funky. All of a sudden my map looked as if I had just taken an acid trip with psychedelic colors randomly appearing all over the map. If I zoomed out they would go away, but when I zoomed back in they came back and were much worse than before.

I am using an iMac 2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo running OS X.4.11. I don't know if this is significant but I was playing on a huge map on marathon game speed. Also, today I just got an update from Apple for things like QuickTime and security.

This is really strange and I have no idea why it happens it is seemingly random. Sorry if this question has been posted before.

Yes, it's an old problem. Players report that save, quit and relaunch often solves it for a while, but if you are in a late game on a huge map with lots going on then you may simply be over-stretching the graphics. I don't know whether Leopard would make any difference, but you should certainly ensure that you have the latest updates for your OS.

I'd had the same problem when playing on an iMac, it never happened to me on my macbook though. I think its an ATI Graphics card issue, don't think Leopard will help with much. Its easier just to save and restart the game.

On my iMac, at least, exit-to-main-menu and reload also gets rid of it, which I imagine takes less time that quit-and-relaunch. It is a very amusing bug, though; once I had "Ragnar" written on the ocean, stretched to fill the whole screen.
