I'm sorta new to Civ 4 and i tried to play noble and i tried to rush a AI, i failed and in the time i used to build units i fell behind the AI and in a few turns i lost the game. Do any of you seasoned players have tips for rushing AIs while not completly losing your economy? Thxs

First of all, is a rush an efficient strategy in your given situation?
When did you rush? Based on what unit?
What leader did you play?
Whom did you try to rush? What distance? Protective? Creative? On hill? Founder of a religion?
Resources of you and your enemy?
Your starting position?
These are all important factors.
Post a screenshot for detailed advice.
Some general advice if you decide a rush is in order:
Maxmize early production - tiles, chopping, whipping (especially whipping can be most efficient if you know the basics).
Build only the minimum of cities, most early rushes are based on the capital and the 2nd city claiming the necessary ressource (if you need one)
Strike as soon as you have enough units (enough depends on factors listed above)
Keep only good cities like capitals, raze mediocre sites.
Focus! Napoleon once said to his general: "You can ask me for anything but more time"

There is a guide on the war academy that breaks down a rush with just about every unit - you should check it out.
On levels below monarch, you can just build 4-5 warriors immediately and attack the nearest computer.
