As things stand now:

Illegal

The following must not be checked:

No City Flipping From Culture
No Technology Trading
Always Peace
Permanent War or Peace
New Random Seed on Reload
Advanced Start
No Technology Brokering
Unrestricted Leaders
No Espionage
______________________

As for the new maps:

Illegal:

RandomMapScript
Tectonics

Both are pretty much random maps. Tectonics looks like fun there are too many possible maps there. See attached.

We are not sure about Earth2.

:hmm:
Earth2 seems pretty consistent in the maps it creates - and the human player has more knowledge of what to expect from the map lay out than in other maps - I don't think it is too big a deal though.
Tectonics: I don't see how it is more of a problem than Fractal - and it is fun ;) - so just on the off chance: :please: allow it :)
I agree with no espionage - its broken as it is for HOF play (actually: its broken as it is period) and without extensive modding I don't see how it could be made usable :)
RandomMapScript: it only shuffles allowed map types - so why disallow it? I would agree with a rule on the two start position options - i.e. AI start using the script default and human using the same as AI - but apart from that I don't see a need for disallowing it.
just my two cents :)

Unless there's a known problem with Tectonics, I would vote to allow it. It takes me so long to play my EQM games that, at this rate, I'll probably never try Tectonics unless it's allowed. Which would be a shame :(

I haven't played with any of the new map types so can't comment but "no epionage" is definately broken.

Agreed that "no espionage" is broken and should be excluded.

Tectonics kinda looks like it might be Fractal but with the ability to mold it's generation a bit instead of totally random. I'd say keep it in there but if there are certain map options no allowed then maybe limit them. It's only one map style out of over a dozen so why not keep it in there.

I don't know enough about Earth 2 to comment.

Tectonics's more advanced settings - like "Actual Earth" - are motions for it to be excluded. They generate, effectively, the same map every time.

How is "No Espionage" broken? What happens if you choose it?

1) all espionage producing buildings produce culture making culture victories much easier
2) all great spy points producing wonders produce uncommitted great people points (this means you can actually chose which great person you get from those wonders)
3) without a fix (which is easy) you have no access to the power etc graphs
4) any random events that produce espionage points still do - so that you get instant and permanent visibility into all your opponents cities
did I miss anything?

definitely agree about no espionage being broken
not sure about the map types though I agree with Misotu that if they aren't allowed I won't have time to play them

Tectonics with 70% Water, 60% Water, Pangaea and Lakes should all be allowed IMO. Islands can generate maps with very little land, and Mediterranean and Actual Earth are almost the same map every time.

What difference does it make that mediterranean and actual earth give same map? We've got now great plains and inland sea that give very similar maps both formation and resourcewise. And even better they are on 1 landmass instead of multiple.

Oasis also gives very similar maps every time.
