Until this current set of gauntlets, I had assumed that Major gauntlets were at upper difficulties (monarch +) and minors were lower difficulties (noble -). The current emperor minor has again shown me what happens when you assume.
So my questions is "what makes one gauntlet a major and another a minor?"
Is there something specific in the settings for the particular game or is major/minor just a simple word applied arbitrarily?

Is paper, rock, scissors arbitrary? Well, I guess maybe so since Denniz usually wins.
Yes, that's really how decisions are made in HOF Staff.

They generally are/will be lower difficulty but we have to through in a few out there for EQM purposes. You will notice that it is score gauntlet. That allows players to pick any victory condition they can win with. Cultural and religious are generally doable on any difficulty.
There is a second G-Minor for those that find Monarch too challenging.

Actually, we use that Ouija board we found in your old desk. :mischief: And there is no truth to the rumor that Khan has anything to do the gauntlet selection process. :p

Actually it's Emperor level, not Monarch. After reading your post I double checked to make sure that my 'Lizzy map finder starts had the right settings. I am looking forward to finishing an Emperor level Minor Gauntlet if I can find the time.

 Y'all are finally figuring out my secrets. Using the Ouija board to talk to Khan was quite handy in convincing prospective staff members to sign up...or else.

You getting back into the HOF biz?
Not at this time. My current life isn't conducive to gaming of any kind, much less something as hard-core as HOF. Don't hardly have time to post much even.
I won't be Civ-free forever though.
